False Chocopimps DX

*sighs* I've already done extensive work on finding out how color is determined.

I've bred countless birds to find out what works, and what changes. I've bred almost every color combination, and have gotten every color from the combo, via following my stats and such.

No, I didn't write the wiki, that's outdated and I did go through and update it.

Kowawa MAY have a few colors, but I highly doubt he has all colors, with all capped stats. It costs approximately 1.5 million gil, and takes about 4 months, to cap all 4 stats.

I've raised over 30 birds to adult hood, and over 80 to adolescent stage to check color. I've done over 300 tests on kamp kweh with a friend, and have proven stats influence color, and color of parents does not.

His bird was blue, mine was yellow. We did kamp kweh every day, and checked mating compatibility often. For the first, 40 or so times, it always showed a blue bird. One day his strength hit lv 8, and suddenly the bird was showing up as red. This went for 15 more days, and those 30 checks, (one each of us) it was red, red red.

My endurance leveled up, and BAM it was blue again for 50 days.

And yes landael, you;re cards are worth about 20K-25K each. But you gave them to me for 15K. I intend to repay your friendship in the future. (mayhap a free chocotrain or something, and I do intend to challenge you to that race >=o)

But seriously, if someone is selling a serket ring for 100K, do you pay him 200K for it? =/

Come on. Another thing. I am not cheating people. My birds save people weeks of work. The average times you need to tell a bird a story when is has 0 discernment is roughly 100-150 times. You can roughly tell it 8-10 stories a day. You do the math. My bird's chicks come with enhanced stats and abilities that would take forever to learn.

Color is not inherited. It may seem like it, but I have blown that theory out of the water. I've bred two green chocobos and gotten red, blue, green, yellow, and black chicks just from those two. Just by following my guide. I'm still working out what stat combos make what colors, but I can guarantee that the parent's colors have nothing to do with the matter.

The mother could be fluorescent pink and the father bright purple, and it would not influence the chicks color at all. So when people are buying someone else's practicly worthless cards over yours that are worth something, becuase theirs are every color of the rainbow, and yours are yellow, it's a bit infuriating.

These birds are my main source of income, and having someone underselling you with mainly crap is infuriating. Imagine someone selling.. I dunno, copper rings for 100K, while you trying to sell an astral ring, and no one buying it becuase his prices are lower, yet they not knowing it's copper until way after the matter, when it's too late.

Then all of us with real cards get a bad name. It sucks. Looks like I'll need to keep going after lu shang at this rate... u.u

FFXI can be a tough game to make gil in. If people can sell free cards for 30k, more power to them. They've got 10x the business instinct I've got (that being about 1 or less). As long as both parties get what they agreed to (even if the bargain is skewed) all is fair in XI.

Goddam all you chocopimps selling your worthless chococards for way too much because it's colored.

It's been proven. Color is not inherited, just stats and abilities. The stats a bird has before entering adolescent stage are what influences the color.

(The reason this idea came about is the fact that a colored bird, take red for example, passes on the stats that made it red, to the chick. thus there's a good chance it'll be the same color)

You try and sell cards for 20-30K, when all they have is color. 0 stats. 0 abilities. They're no different than the cards you buy from the NPC in Ru'lude Gardens, which only cost 1K...

Here's the lowdown. here's what makes cards worth ANYTHING.

M card base value 5K, F=10K (Fs are rarer)

Any level 8-9 stats = 5K each. Anything lower won't even be inherited.

Level 4+ receptivity = 3K (increases chances of abilities being inherited)

Lv 1 abilities = +5K each (Gallop and Canter)

lv 2 abilities= +7K each (Burrow and Auto-Regen)

lv 3 abilities =+10 each (Bore and Treasure Finder)

That's it. Color is worth crap. You red male with 0 stats and abilities is worth a whopping FIVE THOUSAND GIL. Not TWENTY five thousand. FIVE thousand.

Stop Gypping people becuase your card is colored.

And to Kowawa, STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. WE KNOW YOUR CARDS ARE ALL YELLOW, AND THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS AN ABILITY IS TREASURE FINDER, NOT GALLOP, YOU IDIOT. WE'VE FIGURED YOUR SYSTEM OUT, STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.

Read the Wiki on chocobo raising to find out what the chances are your cards will produce colored offspring. Any lv 8 stat has a 50% chance of giving the chick a lv 2 stat to start, instead of lv 1. That means my two birds, though, yellow, chicks have a 90% chance of color.

37/40 of my bird's chick have been colored. They pair have been valued at 150K, just for that and three inheritable abilities, but i only sell the pair for 40 K.

Learn from the guys who raise birds for profit, and stop ripping people off, becuase then they don't trust us. and then we lose lots of :2cents:

One of my cards are sold by Kowawa, and he is max lvl on str and endure with Gallop + Auto regen and green, my first coloured choco. Unless you have checked all his cards and manage to check the stats, i highly doubt that your statement about how all his cards are yellow with only Treasure hunter ability.

I personally have raised couple coloured choco (except blue D: ) with different purposes, green is sprinter, red and black is Digging for different purposes.

And, what's wrong with pimping chocobo? :P

dude, can I has bright purple chocobo?!
