Apparently the FanFest 08 tickets sold out within 12 hours. Considering that it took 2 weeks for the tickets to sell out last year, I'm thinking that there's some sort of underhandedness going on. This year is arguably an inferior event too!

Since I and a few other linkshell members were subsequently blocked from even getting the chance to have a ticket by some overzelous ebay entrepreneurs I'm thinking of perhaps writing customer service to get them to check into it.

Was anyone else planning on going?

Wow 12 hours seems such a short time frame. Considering that the game is dying I'm really surprised it sold out so quickly. Maybe it's picking up again? :shok:

Well, thanks for making the decision for me purchasers :b

SE won't care, all they want is to make money lol, imagine you buy all those ticket and trying to sell them on ebay, and no one buying it XD

People keep saying that the game is dying, but I don't see it truthfully. But yeah wow at it selling out in 12 hours, I was considering going. Guess I can't now lol

I'd go again this year but Celv is probably not going, and Greg is probably busy out of country again :\ Sad times! haha

same... so much for those plans :(

i was also planning to go with a friend of mine from work. strange though how they ran out so fast.

Isn't it possible that they just lowered the amount of tickets this year?

That's what I was thinking.

SE made JP players enter a lottery to get there tickets. lol The turnout last year was horribly lower that what SE expected so they probably figured not alot of ppl are going to come this year for 1 day. Also im assuming that they still have tickets for ppl that show up for registration on that friday. Last year there was line from the second floor down the escalator, around the lobby and out the door mostly filled with ppl getting tickets.

How does a sellout = low turnout?

Meaning they had less tickets considering last years low turnout.

I'm not sure you're getting what I'm saying :V

How does a sellout = low turnout?

Meaning instead of allotting 5000 tickets and having 1000 people purchase one (low turnout) last year, they only allotted 750 tickets and sold out in a day instead this year.</random numbers>

Except that I'm fairly sure both the online and at-site tickets sold out last year as well, just at a slower pace.
I'm sorry if I confused anyone though. I assumed you knew I was referring to last year's fest.

Wow.. I guess I don't have to worry about going this year again. XD I'll save my money for Anime Expo and have a little fake FFXI party with a bunch of cosplayers.

I really wanted to go....../cry

Thats disappointing :( I already knew I most likely wasn't going to be able to go, but I was really hoping it would be possible. Oh well. More time to make something insane. lol Events like that are also based on hotel capacity and fire safely laws. If they feel they didn't do good last year and went to a cheaper/smaller hotel this year to save money on the renting.

Also I am still waiting on the traveling fan fests they were talking about before they had the first one. Seeing how all of them so far have been in cali onry.
