Alright, can go ahead and lock the other thread. Alright fellas its that time again for some Fantasy Football!

We'll be doing it again on NFL.com (Haha Timmy), the rules can be found at http://freemeeting.6.football.nfl.com/meeting/rules#rules_single_draft

We will need 12 people to fill up the league and the Live Draft will be held on Tuesday, September 8th 2009, 2 Days before kickoff to avoid any pre-season injuries. Alternatively, if enough people want we can change the Draft Date to a closer date.

The League name is QCDN, and the Password is qcdn (Case Sensitive)

Edit: Please place your QCDN name In () next to your name or team name so we know who's who. Jereme is exempt from this request =P

Awesome. I lost my power last year on the draft day, better not happen again..
 
honestly i've never messed with fantasy football. :P how does this work?
 
Well on draft day you get to draft players. QB, WR, RB, TE, K, and Defense. Depending on the person who starts the league depends on how many of each position is allowed. You get points depending on how well your players do. You will have to check out the scoring by joining the league but that is how it is done.

You should definitely sign up. The way it works is you start your offensive skill players, a kicker and a DST (Defense/Special Teams). It works via draft so you cant just pick anyone, you will have a team, which you can add and drop free agents when they clear waivers and what not.

You get points for yardage, touchdowns (Most points), 2pt conversions. Only downside of NFL.com is you dont get points per catches.

You lose points for throwing INTs, Losing Fumbles, Safeties, etc.

DST works pretty simple too, you start of with 30 points of defense, and you start losing them the more the opposing team scores on you or gains yards, but you can gain points with every turnover or score you create.


One more thing, if possible try to put your QCDN name in () so we know who's who.
 
I signed up, and I didn't read your post right I guess, because I thought Anglis was gonna post up beside my team because I chose it as my member name and it didn't. Then I saw what you said..oh well lol.

So i've never really done this, do we pick a list of players we want rank wise, and then on draft day, it automatically drafts players we have ranked highest if they're available?

And if so, when do we get a chance to rank the players?

The draft is a live draft, meaning you should try to be there when it happens (Though I think Airou said the date/time was still negotiable, finding a time that works for everyone is always the hardest part). If you know you can't be there, you can certainly pre-rank your players (The option should be right on the league homepage). When you do this, be careful though, because I've seen some screwed up teams come out of poorly pre-ranked rosters. If you don't mess with it, NFL.com will use their automatic pre-rankings for you in the draft and pick your team for you, which seems to be hit-or-miss most of the time. I think the teams that missed the draft last year suffered for it, but hopefully NFL.com has stepped up their game on that note.

Ninja Edit: It does look like they've revamped their Auto-Draft settings so that missing the draft doesn't screw you over on day 1.
 
You can go and rank players now. It will only draft for you if you don't show up for the draft.
 
You can edit your Name and Team name at any given time under the Options tab.

Well, I just found out that I can not make the draft on Tuesday, my daughter has her first soccer game of the season that night. I tried to pre-rank my players as much as possible. Hope this doesn't screw you guys (or my team!) too badly....
