Look, this is examples why we should hate farmer and not really the gilseller

img02194km.jpg

as you can see orginally Twincocoon should be around 100k each, but now jump from 220k, and this is not from a gilseller

img02202qy.jpg

You see that the Corsage is jumped from 200k to 300k normally it'll only cost 100k for corsage

img02216ka.jpg

expect 600k soon :o

img02231fo.jpg

Priced jumped by 100k soon 200k

img02240jz.jpg

Even Leathercrafter will have a tough time with this

So overall, Blame the Farmer for the inflation, and not the gilseller, they are the one who bring the price up, material will bring chain reaction thru crafting, crafter need to get their money back because material cost too much, and they have no choice but to jack up the price, no crafter want to lose profit of their makings

One slight problem. The money is already in the system so selling it via AH is not actualy creating the excessive amounts of gil. You see gil created off of some Quests, rank ups with missions and selling crap to NPCs which is the big one. So how the flying fuck did this much gil get put into the system so quickly... Where this new deluge of gil is comming from... I have no idea... I kinda suspect an exploit at this point (You know where you complete a quest and everytime you keep talking to the NPC you keep getting your reward, yes it HAS happened before), or a mass X-mass shopping at IGE or something... Christmas present to themselves...

God damnit once again my brotehr signs himself on on my PC.... Its Direwolf BTW to drunk/tired to sign out and back in...

AH system is a #1 major reason there is inflation in FFXI

elimating AH, and all have to be pruchase in Bazaar will be the best, if SE said 2mil played FFXI, I bet 1/2 of it are mule and bazaar afker lol

Except that, the whole point Vandoura is trying to show the uninformed, Gilsellers do not magically produce gil. It's not like they have a smeltering shop where they dip in copper ingots.

I can tell you, the biggest offender of introductory gil is probably the Rolanberry quest. I used to do this a lot, and wasn't hard to rake in 500k of quested gil in one session.

You should hate the farmer, because every farmer farms Twincoons and hikes their prices, so they can then get Opaline Gear. Excellent observation...

On a lighter note, you should hate Rikku for buying the Twincoon 20k over the stable price. GG loldrg.

I ask Rikkuu to buy it for me, cuz I kinda 2 twincoon atm >.> lol 1 left for me now ; ;

i would point out that Large is a gilseller, and i think Luck is also. Unless my memory is gone O-o

I always thought the gilsellers raised demand on items from the monopoly's they had on them, making farmers find alternative sources for gil, which would pump more gil into the economy. I was never really to sure on that one though.

You are correct, they are both gil sellers.

I would also like to point out it requires 2 twincoons to make a twinthread, the most expensive ingredients in the opaline set. So at bare minimum if you neglect all other ingredients(I believe there is actually some silk and other expensive ingredients), it costs 400k per synth. The crafter loses gil on a synth that is only for aesethical value and even a HQ has no beneficial increase other than to just own a HQ. So really, all you are accusing someone of is trying to not lose there gil on a synth. Although in truth, I don't know why random crafters would make these unless specifically requested by a player since they are an obvious loss.

Note: Both HQ and NQ corsage are both cheaper than the price of a single twinthread or two twincoons. And I am guessing NQ of the rest of Opaline will also be less than ingredient cost but not positive for HQ.

I meant bare minimum 400k for the corsage, the rest of opaline need other materials and also 2 threads.

We should actually thank farmers for lowering inflation. One side of inflation as has been pointed out is total amount of gil being traded. Creating more gil (brand new gil from npcs and quests, not ah) causes inflation while destruction of gil causes deflation (chocobos, buying from npc, etc).

The other side though to inflation that isn't noticed much is the total number of items being exchanged and traded. Imagine if the total number of items dropped to 10% of what they are currently at, prices would jump immensly even though total gil amounts would have remained constant (each gil is worth less). Now imagine the inverse, adds more products/items to the economy and money gets divided thinner over those items. This causes a deflation (each gil is worth more). Farmers add products and cause deflation. If we all farmed more and put more items into the economy you would see some deflation.

Rusty caps use to cause lots of inflation, but that was fixed. There aren't too many ways to create large amounts of gil anymore with the exception of rolanberrys as Skaw mentions, but luckily that is limited to just 2 people at a time.

Actually, if you want to place blame, then the majority of the blame has to go to SE, for creating an economy system that can so easily be abused. There will always be people who will take advantage of any kind of methods available to them. At the time FFXI was developed it was already clear what happens to MMO economies based on other MMOs tht have been running for years.

Blame the farmers, blame the gilsellers, blame the gil buyers, but before you do any of that, blame SE.

Technically, 5. Guardians x2 > Drones x2 > Matron x1.

Problem with one of the Drones, is that it's in the pit of Rumble Crawlers by the Wespe/Tiphia areas, so you're going to link a ton of mid-upper50s crawlers doing it.

And you can't get drops off guardians fast enough to feed drones non stop, ditto for Matron.

Large is a gilseller, yes. BUT his group doesn't raise the prices. He's actually a really nice guy, and I'm friends with his group. I've talked with his group before about the price raising, and they really don't like it either because it's unfair.

On a side note, is that me in those pictures? :D

They may not raise prices, but I can guarantee you once the price is raised they don't place it on at the original price, they put it up for the higher price. In other words, they are not responsible for jacking up prices just perpetuating it.

And yet, everyone else is guilty for that too. Moot point.

inflation caused by added gil into system, people abusing quests(you can make a few mil a day doing a quest, and thats bad because a few mil ruins economy if enough people do it often), but that is bad... but thats not inflation thats price gouging
