Father Killed Child Over Video Game

Westyle, why do you confuse v.v;

I don't see why people scream "zOMG! KILL HIM!". How is it morally right to kill someone just because they killed someone? That just makes the person who kill the murderer just as bad, does that mean he should die too?

They say that getting executed is supposed to be painless. Let's ignore the mental stress they endure waiting for getting killed. I'm sure that's completely painless. Let's also ignore the fact that getting the needle can sometimes be more painfull then anything else, as they sometimes mess up and have th feel their lungs getting paralyzed, and being unable to breathe, slowly suffocating to death.

Let's ignore the fact that the electric chair doesn't kill them immediatly, and they have to literary burn to death, with their skin melting off of their bodies. Let's also ignore the fact that it soemtimes takes several tries untill they finally die.

Let's ignore the fact that by gettign hanged, the person rarely dies immediatly, and if the person isn't heavy enough, he can hang there for days untill he dies. Very slowly suffocating, while being mentally tortured knowing he will soemtime die, while also starving, and not being able to drink. And if the person is too heavy, his neck will just chop off.

Let's ignore the fact that when they want to gass someone to death, they are sometimes given too little gass, making their internals bleed, caughing blood, and slowly dying by internal bleedings.

Yeah, they all seem like completely painless methods to kill someone. Especially for someome who actually is innocent.

Fun fact; The injection way to kill someone was invented by one of Hitler's doctors as a way of killing Jews. I'm sure it feels great knowing that Hitler did something good for you, no?

How does saying someone should die make you any better then the person who murdered? How does wanting someome to suffer make you a good person? If the judge asked you if they should kill him or not, could you honestly sleep good at night knowing you caused death to someone of your own kind, a human being, and does that really not make you a murderer?

Just because you're not the one giving the order, doesn't mean you're not as bad as the person doing it. And giving the order makes you worse. If killing a person is wrong, how is it not wrong to kill someone who murdered? And giving the order to kill someone is suddenly right? And wanting that person is right aswell?

Something in today's society is just not right. Everyone is way too fast in judging people, making their judgements clouded, and making them unable to think rationally.

It certainly was no accident... How many times have you been driving and some jerk douchebag mcgee pissed you off, and all you wanted to do was take your car and ram them? People get pissed for different things. 1 mistake can fuck you up for a very very long time.

It is not an excuse, but my god, you don't even know what happened... All you have to go off of is a nice story put together by reporters and the few statements offered by police.

I have better sense than to ram someone with my car, commit murder, or do ANYTHING landing me outside of normal, atmospherically, life. So should everyone else... It's not a hard concept to process and handle. So a person was raised wrong... it doesn't matter, we all know it's not the right thing to do. He lost his temper over a silly video game and killed a child, end of story. As a flippin' grown man he should be able to control himself.

You've never even had an urge to hurt someone? To make someone 'pay' for some stupid little mistake like cutting you off on your way to work?

I'll believe that when my shit turns purple and smells of rainbow sherbert.

Always remember, I think no one here ever said he should go home free, we all thus far agree jail time is deserved, we're debating on death/life/less jailtimes.

I don't think less jail time would be better, I think making jailtime worse for them, both in term of time and the way they are treated would be better.

Swedish jail is just awefull. the inmates get better food then the school kids, and their argument is "that they can't help the fact that they're in jail". That's a wtf moment right there. And I believe the jail in the states is about the same. They treat the inmates too good, give them a worse time in jail and they won't like it as much, and it won't cost as much to keep them there. Jail shouldn't be a daytime care center for the "less fortunate".

Wow, libby hippies.. go ruin someone elses country :/ stop fucking up the US with your "oh but he didn't KNOW better" shit. He hit a child, the child died.

and btw

1. First Degree Murder: Murder involving special circumstances, such as murder of a police officer, judge, fireman or witness to a crime, multiple murder, the use of torture or especially heinous means, or means requiring great preparation, such as poison or lying in wait.
2. Second Degree Murder: Any premeditated murder or felony murder that does not involve special circumstances.
3. Third Degree Murder: All other murder.

That is total bullshit, where did you find this? Legit or not it's wrong.
1st degree murder is premeditatd murder. (example, You find out someone's daily routine, select a time they are vulnerable to attack, such as being alone in a secluded place, and kill them. That is first degree murder. Anything with forethought and planning.

2nd degree is intent to kill but without the premeditation (example, someone calls you a racist term, you take out your knife and stab them, they die. That is second degree murder. Intent to kill, however not planned in advance)

3rd degree is borderline manslaughter. (Such as shoving someone down a flight of stairs in an arguement. No real intent but not entirely an accident)

Manslaughter is trickier and is usually if you were to say, punch someone, and they fell and struck their head on a bumper of a car. You're fucked anyhow, but it's far from as serious.

Anyhow.. on topic.. this man is a murderer. He hit his BABY, TWICE! Then threw her! This man is twisted and deserves an 8x12 cell for life if not death.

All you people defending him are disgusting.

By conscious of the crime, I meant you had intent to defy the law. And of course the code must be modified, like in war, but other than that in every day life it should apply. "Oh NOEZ I hit a man with my car" involuntary manslaughter, yes? so then the code would not apply. THEN would the normal American law system come into play. IE: give lie detector tests after the story was told to see if they were actually intending to do it. If this was applied, the law would be enforced more efficiently and we would have less criminals walking the streets. By using the code of hammurabi as a base, It should only apply to physical harm though.

liberals are patriots; be thankful that you have us looking out for you by questioning our government that has lied to us about pretty much everything since they have been in charge.

Not sure I follow your logic; If its legit doesnt that make it right? Or is this wrong in your opinion?

As for this case, its quite despicable that someone would hit a toddler like that in the face. If someone were to do that to my child I would rip thier throat out where they stood, no questions asked.

I understand that people snap and do some crazy shit. Road rage, i can understand. Usually its people driving like idiots on their cell phones, but they do it conciously. But how the fuck could u punch your own baby like a grown person? Not only that, but he punched this kid twice. The baby is just doin baby things. It doesnt know what the hell its doin. One minute, its crawling along playin, the next minute its dead b/c its own father killed it. Thats some fucked up shit.

Windy, no one is defending him. Everyone agrees that what he did is wrong, what we're saying is that he doesn't deserve a death sentence for what he did.

You can't throw everyone who kill someone, accident or not, at the death row. That's just stupid, and if you believe it is right to do that, then you're just as "sick and twisted" as the people commiting the crimes. What's next, you're gonna cut someones hand off because they punch someone, just so they won't be able to punch someone again?

He sure as hell deserve jail time, whether or not it was an accident doesn't matter, he should get punished for it. But not with his life.
Whether or not the baby "provoked" him to do it, he shouldn't have punched the baby. That's not something you do. Any excuse he can make is not valid, because you don't punch a baby. Simple as that.

But I'll repeat it once again, it doesn't deserve a death row penalty. Every little thing doesn't deserve a death penalty. You jump to conclusions way too fast. Just because you're upset doesn't mean the man deserves a death penalty.

I don't know the guy, but if he doesn't have any previous offences in violence, or any crime for that matter, I think its rather safe to say that he regret what he did, and thus a long jail time would be better then giving him a death penalty.

The only time I can agree with a death penalty is with people that you know won't change from jail time. Like a mass murdered who killed countless of people, caught red handed in the act. For those, there's no need to try and make them change through psychiatry like they usually do in countries without death penalty. They are born with no empathy or respect for other people, and thus it won't matter how you treat them, they will continue to commit crimes even after they're released.

A life for a life. You take one, you don't deserve one. That's my personal beliefe on it. I also think there is something to be said that he did it with his bare hands, not a gun, knife, bat, w/e.

I honestly can't agree with it at all. By your definition, all US soldiers who have killed someone doesn't deserve a life, while the person who ordered them to kill, deserves one. A doctor, who is performing a dangerous surgery on a patient, who later dies from complications, also doesn't deserve to live. A person driving a car, and gets in an accident that causes the death of someone, doesn't deserve to live either.

If all of those people doesn't deserve to live, and should all get punished with death for it, earth wouldn't be a very nice place to live on.

There's a reason none of that is against the law. I'm assuming we're still abiding by those laws... Thought that was obvious.

Me a liberal? lol

By the way, in principle I'm against the death penalty unless the person is dangerous even when incarcerated so in most cases when people say "fry him" I'm going to disagree.

But then this guy is no where near the kind of defendant people consider executing, I really don't know what you people are smoking.

It's almost like a guy steals an apple and you want to cut his hands off. I say that's wrong and you accuse me of defending him. No, the guy deserves punishment but you are all going way overboard.

For losing control, punching someone and accidentally killing them? That's what, 15 years?

But your "a life for a life" definition is flawed then, as you said "a life for a life, you take one you don't deserve one". That doesn't take in to consideration whether or not its against the law.

And in all honesty, what's the difference in killing someone on a battlefield then on the street? Its still a life you take. The only difference is that one is against the law, the other one is not. But seriously, what's the difference?

And while we're at it, why will you get a harsher punishment for killing the president's son, then your neighbour's son? Its still a life, and isn't the old saying "Everyone is equal in front of the law", aswell as "in God's eyes everyone is equal"?

My point is, the whole law system is flawed and outdated and corrupt. There's so much they ignore, too much they don't take in to consideration, and a lot of things they deem more important then others which are not.

Wonder how the kid would feel.. 15 years for robbing her of her entire life.. toddler, adolescence, teenage, their first time reading or walking.. or playing a sport.. getting a liscence.. having a beer.. falling in love.. going to college.. life lessons of getting arrested, drinking too much, failing a class, breaking a bone.. everything people do and learn from.. all TORN away from this child cause some jackass lost his temper.... ...and I'm the one overboard.

But the kid won't feel anything, will it? And yes, you are going overboard.

What would the man that the soldier say when he got killed in war, when he lost his entire life, including wife, daughter, son, and child-to-be. And how will her wife react, to have her husband suddenly taken away. Never being able to see him, touch him, never be able to be there, with him, when their daughter gives birth to her first child. Never being able to be together with him to celebrate the birth of their new child.

What will his daughter say when her father won't be there for her 20th birthday, never being able to see her first school performance, never being able to celebrate the birth of her first child.

What will their child-to-be say when he'll never be able to see his father. When he won't be there to tech him how to ride a bike, or to drive, never being able play baseball with his real father, nor ever being able to hold his father's hand when he's on his deathbed.

None of those people ever got a chance to be there when their husband/father died, and never got to say goodbye to him, either.

So really, what's the difference? The reason murder is so serious is because you take someone's life. Murder itself is rather perculiar, actually, as the victim itself won't have to ever suffer the consequences of it (as the person will be dead). Instead, its the people related to the victim that suffer the most from the crime.

And for the people involved, one death are all the same. Doesn't matter if he/she died in war, from an accident, or from a murder. Its all the same to them when they sit there mourning over the loss of their father/husband/son/whatever.

And killing this guy brings back her life and gives her all those things?

You're making an emotional decision based on compassion for the victim. The victim is dead. There's nothing that can be done for her. All we can do is try to give a FAIR punishment to the human being who is still alive.

I've tried telling Windy that, but I guess you spelt it out in easier words for her to absorb.

Emotion has nothing to do with getting rid of this man. History can repeat in most cases, and his temper may get the best of him once again. Getting rid of him would Directly diminish the chances of this happening again to someone else by his hand. Preventing another occurance that was based on genetics rather than psychological alterations is the goal, so if it means ending his life to save more lives, so be it.
