Just picked it up, going to start it shortly. Have high expectations from the demo. Anyone else pick it up?

I played the first two missions and enjoyed the game ALOT so far. I love the little bounce to your step and vision through the visor, they add alot to my experience.

The gunfire is great and sound is just fine.

Visually it may be a step down from what we all expect now but it still holds its own very well with the tricky grain style effect layered over the visuals.

Fear also does a very good job with the slow motiong effect. It usually sucks and is just a gimick in other games.

I will play with you online soon as we can Elei but the MP probably sucks.
 
Im lovin it so far, i love how they did the demo because the demo has scenes from all different locations put together to seem like a full level and it works well, then you play the real game and those scenes are all spaced out and in different locations of the story, even different buildings than they appeared in the demo.

Ive had quite a few jump out of my seat moments, which is what ive loved about FEAR, they set up scenarios where any other game makes it obvious that something is about to pop out or scare you, then you get there and nothing happens....but when you dont expect something, BAM! I love that!
 
A lot of people don't like the HUD but I personally enjoy it alot.

Osi, I used to love FEAR multiplayer before I picked up my 360. I hope FEAR 2 is just as good online wise, especially with friends.

Goddamn, there was this one part I had to kick Alma in the face FOUR TIMES before she disappeared back into nothingness.

I like it better than the first. It's a definite improvement, and it certainly looks better. Like Gears of War 2 they've drastically expanded their color palette for the sequel so it's not drab gray office building after drab gray office building.

My favorite little detail: the elementary school bulletin board with all the kids' pictures and names. There's a little Alma made from construction paper.

I got it yesterday, but had to work early today. I haven't played it yet.. but I expect to play the hell out of it this weekend since I'm off work.

Really looking forward to it.
 
Been playing a quite a bit of this today and I really enjoy it so far. I hate those fucking abomination guys though, they creep me out. PS3 controls aren't nearly as fluid as a PC but I knew it would be this way. Still, game is freaking awesome so far. I love how it just starts out with the creepiness.

I'm interested in what this story has to do with the first FEAR. I originally thought that the main character was the same guy from the first FEAR but I don't believe that is the case anymore, considering the end of the Interval 1. It just doesn't make sense in that aspect.
 
yeah not the same guys, the guy in the first one was Alma's brother, This is a guy from a different project, im still learning how he ties into all this. Only clues ive gotten so far is he is almost like paxton fettel, just more controlled.

Wut? From what I gathered, the guy in the first FEAR was one of Alma's sons. I didn't get the sense of brother from anything in that game. How did you? o.o

Also, I thought Fettal was one of her sons too considering his role and behavior.

And yeah I'm also trying to figure out what Beckett's role in all this is. I think he may be another son of Alma's, but who knows just yet.

I also think I just heard my favorite line in the entire game.

Snake Fist: "Alma's drawn to you. You're like a free pizza at an anime convention. She wants to consume you."

nevermind i got names all mixed up, i had her dad confused with the other guy, But i believe its her "son" only in the sense of them giving them her powers in the synchronicity events. Fettel was actually created to be a replica soldier controller, but they lost control of him too.

Just finished through the campaign. Holy fuck, kudos to Monolith for a fucking surprise of an ending to a great game.

Alma somehow, and I'm not lying, ends up fucking you, and you end up getting her pregnant.


Trilogy anyone? I sure as hell hope so.
 
I really loved the demo but I never played F.E.A.R. one. I may buy both and play them in order lol.

If you haven't played the first FEAR, then you definitely should before you play FEAR 2. Granted as far as I can tell, this is it's own story, however there are lots of ties to the original and I think it set right after the events of the first game. So, yeah.. either way these games are perfect for playing with the lights out.

I'm still enjoying the hell out of FEAR 2.
 
FUCK! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! I've managed to glitch myself out of being able to go any further in the fucking game. GOD DAMMIT!

And IT FUCKING SAVED AFTER THE GLITCH!

I'm playing on PS3 so I can't just go back to a previous save file. -_- Motherfucker!!!!

What happened was I just finally reached Terry and instead of going all the way through the door into the room he's in, I back out of it instead, because there was another room I didn't check. That room just happened to have a lot of ammo in it. But the thing is, the door to the room Terry is in locks.... IT FUCKING LOCKS. I'M FUCKING LOCKED OUT OF PROCEEDING ANY FARTHER IN THIS GAME. AAAAAAAAUUUGGGHHHH!!!! FUCK!!!

He's holding out a fucking brand new weapon and I can't even fucking get it. GOD DAMMIT THIS IS STUPID. ><

The only thing I can do now is restart the whole game over again... *sigh*

And I was only like 4 intervals/chapters from the end. I do want to cry. I played the game all of my Friday and Saturday... augh. I can't believe they missed this in the testing. Fucking A dude..

They are tied together. The first bit, before the explosion, is two hours prior to the end of the first game, the explosion is where the first game ended. There are also expansions to the first game. I'd play them all before jumpin' into 2, probably explains your missin' links.
