FF VII Advent Children is out

Ele, you missed every post about omnislash. It is that very limit, just modified to fit the movie. Cloud slashing repeatedly like he does in game just wouldnt look as good in there

the OP one doesnt work anymore =\

Did you try the one tymon posted? Not sure it that works anymore either

A full 16 hit classic Omnislash would be pretty ridiculous looking in this movie. The change is for the better, and doesn't show Cloud as going completely God Mode and unbeatable... Not that getting impaled through his dominant arms shoulder, and still maging to weild the swords, doesn't.

16 hit omnislash looked fine for the game.. it woulda been fine for the movie.. I don't think it was Omnislash at all..

Omnislash was used for multiple enemies.. that moved looked like it would only work on ONE since it surrounds one enemy and then he slashes through. It was still cool but I don't think it was Omnislash at all. and 10 more hits wouldn't have made it any less cool or much longer.. so editting for the movie seems unlikely. The other ones were most likely editted so it made a bit more sense how they worked.

I wish they showed Cid doing his Highwind Limit break :\ that woulda been cool XD

No it wouldnt have. It just doesnt fit in. Omnislash was made to be a multiple hit limit, and it was the same in the movie. It was just done with 6 swords now for cooler effect :P

and Tymon saves my day. hats off to him! thanks, and thank you too tyrath :D

pfft.. there were other multi hit Limit Breaks.. And I still say it would have been fine with only one sword.. it was cool in the game.. it'd be just fine in the movie (in fact.. I think he did use it on kadej or someone once.. atleast.. it looked like he did multiple hits really fast... just not quite Omnislash). How would it be bad? I don't see this as being like Omnislash really.. he never glowed yellow like that when he did Omnislash.. really only did that in Kingdom Hearts. He never threw 6 swords around an enemy and slashed like that. I don't see how it's omnislash other than he hit the enemy a lot in a short time.

No shit dude, but that was in the game. this is the movie. Just because he didnt do it in the game doesnt mean they couldnt have modified it to fit the movie. His sword never glowed blue in the game for limits, but it did in the movie. Stop being narrow minded :P

if they modified it for the movie.. they changed about EVERYTHING they could have for it.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense, guys. A completely different looking weapon skill is the same. Nice logic on that one. >.> I'll quote my last debate on the whole subject as it's getting annoying telling so many idiots why it isn't Omnislash:

My main arguement is that the only thing that Omnislash and whatever-the-hell he used at the end have in common is that he jumps and attacked multiple times. However, with that logic, you could say that Raccoon Mario is the same as Cape Mario because he can fly either way, Final Fantasy III is the same as Final Fantasy V because there is a job system in both of them, Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper is the same as Cherry Vanilla Coke because they both have Cherry Vanilla, or that the PSP is the same as the DS because they both play games. They both have similar attributes, but they look and are two different things.

The example I used with [name deleted], which probably won't make any sense unless you play Final Fantasy XI, is that by using the logic that a multi-hit weaponskill/limit break is the same as any other multi-hit weaponskill/limit break, Circle Blade is the same as Vorpal Blade.

Omnislash (Final Fantasy VII)
-Multi-hit (fifteen)
-Multi-target
-Single weapon

??? (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children)
-Multi-hit (six)
-Single target (all eight blades circled a single target and there is no supporting evidence that it is multi-target)
-Multi-weapon

Vorpal Blade (Final Fantasy XI)
-Multi-hit (four)
-Single target
-One weapon

Circle Blade (Final Fantasy XI)
-Single hit
-Multiple targets (however many are in range)
-One weapon

Using the same logic as you, all four are one in the same.

Yeah, I've been watching it a lot trying to find smaller details (nothing else to do). If I remember correctly, Omnislash was a 16ish hit attack (a guide on GameFAQs is saying that it is 15 hits).

Also, by saying it wouldn't look right... what the hell kind of crack are you smoking? All they had to do was make him go faster - they didn't have a problem adding in flying and enhanced speed throughout the rest of the movie, did they?

I downloaded it, but I have no clue on how to make the subtitles work. can someone help me?

The links for hte movie won't work for me. Do I need to download somethin for them to work.

www.crystalplayer.com works great.. if you need to when you play it with that.. right click and choose attatch subtitles (or shift O I think)

wow what was that move he did on Sephiroth at the end... looked like some Knights of the Round hybrid =P

Gah I hate comments like that... -.- no offense Deci lol

It was called Omnislash :P and for all you who havent noticed but he used 4 overdrives in the movie...

Climhazzard
Omnislash
Braver
Shockwave(Can't remember the exact name for it from the original)

He also uses Cross Slash(3 hits), but for the movie it sends out 3 strikes.

And I guess you could theoretically call his final attack to Kadaj, before sending him flying through the sky Finishing Touch.

Never does he use Climhazzard though, cause he never impales anyone with his sword. But he uses braver quite a bit, any time his sword glowed blue when he jumped in the air and stuck downward, that was Braver. An example would be during his fight with Bahamut Sin, before everyone throws him in the air.

How do you think that? Look at the final blow to Bahamut Sin, he impales him and runs up his back (That's climhazzard O_O) lol it's a lil diff from original but as you guys said it would be boring if it was only the original... :o but now it's diff and better :P trust me tho it's climhazzard (My friend who beat the game 6 times and of which we just watched all Clouds Overdrives again...it's climhazzard O_O it's gotta be

yeah, Climbhazard kills Bahamut-SIN.

Tho i think the whole Summon scene woulda been WAY better if he'd used Knights of the Round. Then everyone else could have actualy done somthing usefull, rather than just be a distraction.

For what Tymon posted, are all the subtitle files needed or are they just different formats of the same subtitles? I'd also like to thank him for posting it. I am d/l'ing it right now and I am sure that I will be buying it on dvd in a couple months. :D

Impaling requires whatever your using to go all the way through.

It's just him dragging his sword across Bahamut Sin.

With Climhazzard, Cloud juts his sword through an enemy, then leaps in the air. Had he stuck Bahamut on the ground, then jumped in the air, yeah, I'd agree it was Climhazzard.

well.. I dunno.. if you do climhazzard to a bigger monster like stuff in the crater or a weapon.. he couldn't put it through :D I think it could very well be climhazzard. Just an arial one.

Hello? Gravity?

Theres obviously gravity in FF7, the game. But it seems to have been "modified"(read as: removed) for the movie.

:P

And you're arguing that it can't be Omnislash at the end because it's not perfect?

Please, quit with your hypocrisy for today.
