OMG! Daddy likey! This, my friends, is why I'm a hardcore Sony supporter. They know how to do what it takes to make people drool. PS1, PS2, and now PSP have all exceeded my expectations and now I'm pining for PS3. I can't wait to see the future of console gaming. It is gonna be amazing, and yet, I'll still play the old school FF7 on PS3 even then. Unless, of course, if they did a full updating of the graphics like in that demo video... then I'd hafta get the upgraded one just for pure OMGoodness.

the sad thing is... my PC will own any stupid console....

In case you didn't notice, they put graphics levels in there that are capable of being played in FMV format, not actual gameplay format. Hell, FFX had compareable graphics in the FMVs and that came out how many years ago now? Don't doubt the advancements before you see actual games and know what parts of the actual games you're seeing. FF8 had some of the most realistic FMVs so far and that was only a PS1 release. I have a feeling PS3 quality is gonna equal the levels used in Advent Children.

if you didn't notice, that video was the intro of FFVII in much better graphics.
And that last part where Cloud jumps out of the train is the part that was half polygons in the actuall game. So unless they changed that little FMV and made it longer, it looks like game play actually COULD be that good...

but I don't want to keep my hopes up <.< But still, I so wish they would remake FFVII in better graphics >.< God knows I'll buy that game and play it over and over again just like FFVII (that I still play, btw <.<)

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice...now one wonders when it will come out!

Im more excited about the sept 14 release off FF7 AC

lol no game will look like a FMV period especially if its on a console...... what 400 bucks MAX for one? your telling me thats more powerful than my PC rig? LOL!!!!!!!! tech demos are bullshit and are used to overhype shit so kids can get there mommies to put it on the CC for them.....

the jumping out was different. they extended the scene. theres no way the gameplay will be like that

Wow, you guys misread what I was saying. I meant that the FMV quality will be like that and better. Not the actual gameplay. No actual gameplay will be like that for a good 4-5 years from now at the rates things are going.

Cloud just gets sexier, and sexier, and sexier.

Thank you.

Kinda off topic, but you really shouldn't be comparing console and PC prices to figure out which is better. Three main reasons. First, consoles are mass-produced with the same equipment, while PCs are usually made one at a time, to order. So the actual process of making a PC is cheaper. Next, I think most console makers sell the console at a loss, and hope to make up the difference in game and peripheral sales; for PC companies, the PCs are their only source of income, so they have to charge more than the cost. Finally, PCs usually come with more, such as a much longer warranty, a monitor, the operating system (they gotta pay Microsoft some money to use Windows), and so on.

So, yeah. Just because you spent more on a PC than on a console doesn't mean that your PC is more powerful (although it probably is).

There's only one way to describe that uber-swiggy stuff right there.

Yeah... That's it...

Another difference. you can upgrade your PC =/ Try buying new equipment for your PS2 ; ;

which reminds me. Go look at the other screenshots =/ the're pretty damn nice.

Personally, I think the PS3 looks pretty impressive performance-wise.

So, yeah. Just because you spent more on a PC than on a console doesn't mean that your PC is more powerful (although it probably is).

Lets put this all in perspective: Take a pencil sharpener and a belt sander into consideration. A belt sander, in all theory, CAN sharpen a pencil (I've done it in shop class before) but it's overkill. A pencil sharpener, on the other hand, does just as good of a job, with less size/noise/cost but it can ONLY sharpen pencils (unless you're a twisted weirdo sticking other objects into a rotating razar blade for fun... I miss that finger... ). Now a belt sander, can also sand large peices of wood for commercial or recreational use as well, making it much more useful than a pencil sharpener. Get it? Basically what I'm trying to say is sure Computers are more powerful and such but they really only can do MORE tasks than playing a game, and have at least twice the cost to match a console's performance on the same game. A console is an appliance specifically for games and is limited to games and only games and can't be used for the variety of tasks a PC can. So don't go into the "mine is better than that" arguement. It's all apples and oranges.

Almost exactly the same as my comp except I have FX51 processor and a Viewsonic 19'' Flat Screen monitor. I only paid $1400 USD for my setup though, how bout you?

I guess thats the advantage to knowing how to assemble your own machine from scratch.

what 400 bucks MAX for one? your telling me thats more powerful than my PC rig?
Consoles can and will surpass the pc someday. The next generation ones might just do that. While they could have simliar power (eg: same processors, video card) consoles have the big advantage of closed architecture. When someone is designing a game for a console, they don't have to worry about making it compatibile with hundreds of different configurations like you encounter on the pc. This allows you to squeeze way more muscele out of the machine and get much better performance than a parallel power pc machine could achieve. How else do you think ps2 and xbox get the graphics they do with only a 300-400 mhz processor? I love my pc, but multi processors and closed arhitecture used in the console world is going to surpass any monster machine I could build in performance.

On a sidenote of compatiblity issues I can't get the video to work. :?
