FFXI and vista

[Sheladaris]

I just got a new laptop and it came with Vista on it (This is a laptop my work gave me for video, photo editing) its new and i downloaded Play Online and when i try and boot it i get an error saying PlayOnline cannot run with the curent operating system.. /angry at SE is there a patch or something i download for it or will it just not run with vista?

I installed it off of my original discs. When it first loaded, playonline was blank, but I just hit enter a bunch of time and it updated. If you can get it updated, everything will work fine.

Try changing the compatibility mode to Windows XP. That usually fixes everything for me.
