I bought a new pc few days ago with windows vista and today i isntalled FFXI. Few months ago i heard that the problem was fixed... i asked some friends and they told me that for make ffxi works on it i need to fix some settings... but it doesnt even let me open POL or FFXI settings. does anybody know how to make it work? maybe coz i still dont have WotG exp pack and they fixed the problem with it?

First of all you need the Vista compatible POL from the website. Also turn UAC or whatever it is called off, it's a pain in the arse (or run everything as an administrator).
Have you tried wacking it with your warhammer?

i have vista, to get the config, your gonna have to go into your c drive and pol folder then ff folder and look for it in there, thats what i did, only way i got to it too...

I have Vista and not a single problem with FFXI either...
Sometimes the game freezes and I have to restart POL but I had this on XP as well.

Same, but without the freezing part. I have been running POL & FFXI on Vista for over half a year now without a single problem. I've even taken liberties with the registry values to tweak my graphics for full screen.
