FFXI Patriotism does it exist?

When i started playing this game i started in Bastok and to this day I remain Bastokian in All aspects. Bastok is my in game home and its gonna stay that way.


the only REason i could possible see to switch alligience would be to have access to other nations CP items and Missions which are all the same until after the shadowlord.


But in My opinion BASTOK IS THE BEST!!!!!!

I still have a unsettleing hatred for Windy due to it breaking my Carbon Rod when i first started

I think patriotism is very much alive in FFXI. I'm all about San d'Oria.....and I have my own personal hatred to a certain nation but i'll keep my opinions to myself since I always hate to get into arguments about nations. But yea, I wear my Kingdom Aketon everywhere

I'm pretty patriotic about Bastok, but I'm more so, for lack of a better word, racist against the other nations. Sandy is dead to me ever since the NPC called me a "Granite Eater".

Come to think of it......the NPCs are probably the main cause of alot of ppl hating other nations other than my own. Windy and Basty are very racist towards me when I talk to certain NPCs. If it wasnt for the NPCs.....I dont think we would be quite as patriotic.

BONERS FOR BASTOK!!!! lol I love the nation of my birth into this game...and if you look at it Bastok is the best nation in this game. Easy to traverse the town. Lots of helpful NPCs, that you don't have to learn another language to understand. The gateway to a couple of the easiest NMs to camp and kill for big money. And before I quit in march 05 there was always alot of people there doing stuff.

The Gusty zones are the worst starter zones to travel through. Just to get to Bastok, you have to go through BOTH of the zones. Sandy has the quickest route to the Zulkhiem region for someone who has to go on foot.

but im sandy all the way. those were some of the best CS ive seen. Im almost done with windy now...quite boring of a story. then ill finish bastok and go back to sandy!!

Windurst all the way, baby! I would change nations and do the rank missions if I had a static and could blaze through them in a week or so for the storyline and then switch back to Windy... but that's a pretty big if. I love my tarus and mithras and the hippy college town atmosphere.

I agree with the statment that NPC effect patriotism

I hate the snobby, im better than you Attitude from the NPCs in Sandoria..

Windurts NPCs are ok but all the all the crap they tack on the end of their word is kinda annoying "Oh noes i died-taru"

Windurst ftw!!! I love the comments from non-Windurstian people who say they get lost in Windurst. At least we can zone into all of the Windy city areas from the MH (minus Heaven's tower of course). If I have to go to Metalworks in Bastok, I have to zone out , and then run to that seperate zone..very annoying.

And what Windy is so close to mobs that'll give you items that can earn you 55k a stack?

San d'Oria is the best hands down. Bastok stinks, Windurst's too big. San d'Oria is nice and accessible.
