FFXI in a real window now and you can actually click minimize to put it in task bar... and sound stops playing when minimized, too.

Are you running under administrator account and do you have access to the folder in question?

Another thing is if you see yellow numbers at the upper top left corner of the screen when you load ffxi, this means fraps is loading. If you do then you might want to try setting it to another key, if you don't then fraps is not loading with your game.

Kat: Does your task bar show a little computer monitor with a 99 on top on the far right hand bottom of screen? Should have that at all times, might also want to upgrade to newer version of fraps, because the one i have looks differnt from yours.

Rones avatar is from Xenogears, the only RPG to be on par with FFVII you should check it out.

I can open POL with the Launch.bat but I can't get the windower to work. I think it could be the my HD is split into 2 parts and FFXI is not installed on C:/

I might just re-install it anyways because I did the file check and I have 3 damaged files already and its been installed for 4 days.

I installed this and got it to run, but I doubt I'm ever going to use it again. It seemed determined to only make windows that were a lot wider than they were tall, kind of widescreen. The only problem with that is that the window stretched everything out, distorting it from the normal view. I tried several resolutions for XI, all with the same effect.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or am I screwed?
