lol other night I saw a lv 12 blm in the dunes with "Smn burn invite yes please!" in his seek comment.

Smn burns are one of the worst kept secrets in this game, noobs in the dunes know about them and seek them out. ^^

How about this one, a 61 Blm other night in that gigas pet camp in Vunkerl Inlet and all he kept nuking with was basic old Firaga I:, apprantly he never cast anything else entire night. Level sync is great fun but its really just helping more bad players get to the top.

/stagger my goodness its worse than I thought. Wonder when Filmore is gonna have enough posts to put up his side of the story.
 
On the bright side, it seperates the players who give a damn from those who don't. You'll be able to pick the good ones out of the sea of bad ones.
 
i enjoyed the whole leveling process. although level sync sounds beneficial to the game's survival it sounds like it's created a whole new genre of bad.

Not everyone who participates is that bad. In a standard exp party its hard enough to stay on top of Summoning Magic, and while this method buries that chance a thousand feet under, there's always going to be people who give a shit enough about their skills to work on them. As of this writing I'm resting MP while throwing my staff and carby at mobs to try and skill on. 200 and climbing.
 
Yeah, thanks to level sync I've ended up spending hours upon hours skilling up ahead of time (thank goodness i leveled WAR) in kuftal and in the tree to make sure that if I ever DO level another job, my skills wont be gimp.
 
I hate to break it to you, but we had a massive influx of shitty players when Xbox got ffxi and when ToA was released. I stilll remember that Galka sam who thought it funny to take hate at start of every fight when Xbox came out. He kept a score of how many tanks he took hate from. Mind you WS at start does not make you a good dd. The Xbox noobs really thought getting to 75 meant they would beat the game. lol How little did they know this is the game that does not end. LEvel 75 is just the start of the game.
ToA Made getting to 75 so very simple. Get 5 dd one healer and spam solo TP. So many players now at 75 suck because they never had to work together to do SC and MB.
 
I miss SC and MB days. Never liked to party but when I did it was nice to have ppl who knew how to play their jobs well. The last non-LS/non-Friend List party I had I asked what SC we should use. The leader said something to the effect of dude, we aren't breaking latents. thats only what sc are for. I thought "OH BOY!! THIS IS GOING TO BE A GREAT PARTY! -.-"

I'd have slapped him. Even though I only played two month's before level sync, I watched my uncle play a year or so before hand.

I remember it took my Warrior a month to get to 30 and I unlocked Paladin after level sync and got my Paladin to 30 in 4 days.

He doesn't know how hard it used to be to get/make a party. Hell, I don't really know alot, but I know enough.

Anyways, one word for Filmore: Douchebag :biggrin:

People have seemed to have forgotten the added effects of SC. I loved to do Distortion and capped it off with blizzard 2, 3, freeze. Freeze was always a little tricky. As my sch I actually made parties where the players were required to know how to SC. I and a 2nd sch and the nin would all MB the SC. You can still see light and dark based SC adding 1k+ in dmg without any magic burst. As for the blms, I can mb and I only have had blm 75 for a few months....mind you I started it back pre ToA. I have run into a few blms who went OMG I MBed!

People still skill chain? Fuck when i quit in 2007 no one was fucking skill chaining. At 75 you're better off doing your strongest weapon skill than doing an inferior weapon skill just for skill chains even with a black mage in party.

Although pre-70 magic bursting was the shit. Sooo if people aren't magic bursting then they fucking fail.
 
I was in a level sync party other day as Pld, the nice thing about it was we had a whm and a bard and some DD's and no PL in sight, we exp'd in the jungle 27-31 and never wiped once we just had people that knew what they were doing.

I miss the days when thats all a party needed was a solid group of jobs, somehow it seemed better and bad players were left behind now it seems crappy people get ahead by including the words "Invite plz I have a 75 pl"

Since this flame has turned into a bunch of reminiscing about the good 'ol days (I miss MB's, too ; ; ), time for a lock.
