Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

I need to have that summon/death trick explained then =/
 
When you summon, the turtle's legs die. It can no longer attack until it gets its legs back. Spam Death on it until it gets back up.
 
There's only one adamtoise (sp?) in Eden, right by the entrance. I couldn't find anymore. Do you guys just make it respond?

Yeah. Either I went back through the door or just saved, quit, load game, and kill again.

Once I killed one I made my way back to the zone, making sure to kill soldiers for TP. Zone back in and it will be there again. There's a side route you can take to avoid the humbabas. Also, Hexx for the sake of clarity you can't summon just anything, I recall reading that it needs to be either Vanielle's or Light's Eidolons. I don't know of Light gets the death spell, I just used vanielle. Be sure you don't go into gestalt mode because that will reset the stagger gauge. Proc rate is relatively low, so I recommend having other SABs in the party when casting death (above level 1) and using either a belladonna wand or malboro wand. Some say it helps to have vigilance cast on you, though I'm not fully convinced that it helps. Happy hunting~

Beat my first shaolong gui a few mins ago with relative ease, then tried a long gui. Those things put all other mobs and bosses to shame. It's ultima did over 50,000 damage to fang ; ;
 
It's any summon. I've done it with Vanille, Lightning, Fang (the most), and Sazh.

Also, I preferred SAB + MED + MED or SAB+ MED + SYN. Since it's attacks are AoE anyway, it didn't really matter for me.

Yeah but having SEN in the party lowers the damage everyone takes :P
 
Yeah I know, but it really didn't make too much of a difference for me is what I'm saying. If I had 2 MEDs in then everyone was all healed up in 2 seconds anyway. I did use SEN in the beginning, but after a while I didn't really need a SEN.
 
Having 3 sab's in pt increased death proc rate I thought? Thats what I always do. Also I posted the death trick, and the best way i found to refill tp/respawn the adamans, forgot which page that was.

Yeah it does, but having to constantly switch back and forth between SAB SAB SAB and SAB SAB MED got annoying, so I stuck with SAB SAB MED

Anyone know if getting every item is as expensive as it sounds?
 
Prolly not. For Ultima weapons just use the Trapez trick. Turn 1 into 3 costs a bit over a mil to do but it beats paying for it or farming for every weapon
 
It just occurred to me... I don't think FF Prelude is in FFXIII at all O.o wtf? I mean there's a song called Prelude but it's not the FF Prelude. I miss the prelude :(

Edit: Ah ya, Crisis Core didn't have Prelude/Crystal Theme either oh well.

Tried redoing some missions now that I have a gold watch, namely 1, 2, and 3. All of them were either three or four starred even with the gold watch, despite me beating the target time. Anyone know how I can get it to not screw me like that? I thought time was the only factor. I seriously got in there, tore the target a new one, and got screwed with ratings D:

Time is based on your party STR versus enemy STR, so use weak-ass weapons on your characters.
 
I honestly don't think the turn 1 trap into 3 is price efficient if you are going for 100% trophies. With the amount of money you need its better to just farm traps and platinum ingots simultaneously. If you aren't worried about 100% and don't have very good luck with traps though, then it might be good to just get your ultimate weapons with the trap trick.
 
I'm 5 staring these bastards and no traps are dropping. Just an ingot so far. Gotta stick it out.

I'm fighting the one in Eden.
 
I got one trap the first time I killed an adamantoise, but none since. I've decided to continue my perfume/scarlite money making area and I'll just upgrade Pandoran or something up to Kain's Lance and dismantle for 3 :P it's cheaper and faster.

Only if you're not going for treasure hunter. Could be wrong, but seems like a mistake IMO. At least you found a place you're comfortable farming in ^^

Depends on your luck. I have only had 2 Trap's drop while about 50 Platinum ingots drop for me. It was far easier for me to Just desynth Belladona two times. I may end up just buying the Dark Matter for most of the other upgrades.
 
Hey im just starting out, not reading much of this because of possible spoilers but, how do you get to the next stage on the Crystarium? On Vanille for example Ive completed all the crystals under Medic, how do i move on to lv2?
