Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

Interesting to see the charts if this is all accurate data. Hmmm, wish more RPGs would seriously be released on both consoles at the same time. Would be interesting to see the numbers. Considering many used to consider sony's systems the "RPG Choice" (at least many I've heard claim PS1 and PS2 and whatnot were called that :P). Relatively close numbers though between the two.

Edit: Don't feel like making a whole new thread, and most FF fans are checking this thread anyways sooo

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/03/22/square-enix-ceo-comments-on-final-fantasy-vii-remake/ more FF7 remake fuel to the fire.

Well, onwards to Chapter 12 finally.
Granted I didn't get to make an ultimate weapon (since no fucking traps dropped)
But I did get the growth egg, holy fuck those Picochu's hit fast and hard.

And I did 5 star about 27 of the missions, will bother with the rest after I unlock the final crystarium stage.

Wow, think I fucked up and jumped ahead to chapter 12 before I should have =/

well it's only a 1% drop rate from Adamantoise's , Long Gui's it's a 5% drop rate.

That cant be true, ive gotten about 4 traps off maybe 15 adamans.

You didn't fuck up, can always go back once you reach cradle.

Anyone have advice for the D1 and E2 titan trials? I've beaten all the others (except mission 51, which I'm saving for last) but these two give me a ton of trouble. I just recently managed to beat E3 but it was a loooong fight. I guess I'm hoping there's an answer other than grinding, because TBH it gets very boring very fast for me. D1 I was doing ok once but then the bugger got fully healed when I had him down to like 10-15%. E2 I kept getting nailed by the AoE.

I think 1% number is right, even though im 2/6 on traps lol. I did use the rare item catalog, probably just got really lucky.

the drop can be 1% and someone can be 15/15, statistics are funny like that. but over all yeah it's 1%

... according to piggyback >.>

Yeah it's 1% on Adamantoise, Connoisseur Catalog increases the chance by 1.2x, and if you 5 star a battle it's 5x.
Or something to that effect, so 6% or so with 5 star and the right catalog.

Can someone explain weapons and catalysts to me because I'm a bit confused even after reading my guide.

If I get a weapon to it's star level, it can go further with a catalyst? And what about if I'm going for the treasure hunter trophy? Do I need to upgrade all weapons if I want all the items?

Weapons can be upgraded to their star level, at which point it can only develop further by using a transformational catalyst on it. Once you do, the name and look of the weapon changes, the stats go down slightly, but you can now develop it further than you were able to prior to the transformation. For treasure hunter you need to upgrade all tier 1 weapons to tier 2, but for each character there is only one tier 3 weapon, so you only need to upgrade to tier 3 once.

Edit: Accessories count for treasure hunter as well, so be sure that you do the upgrade / transformation for them too. They have more than one tier so be sure to upgrade them as far as they'll go.

At the Cradle now, decided to go ahead and try to beat it to unlock the final crystarium stage, then back to Pulse for more missions and grinding and Adamantoise slaying.

Ahhh okay, that makes sense, but that still seems like a hell lot of item grinding for those as well.

I'm in the springs about to hit the towers where I heard is an awesome grinding spot.

Side Note: This game is far longer than I had noticed it to be, which I'm very happy about.

Yeah, to say the least. At this point I'm not sure I want to bother with farming that much gil just for a trophy and a theme... maybe once my characters are close to getting maxed it won't seem so bad, but that in itself is a task.

Hmmm ... there are a couple of spots with pulsework gladiators in them, both give good CP but both are a bit of a pain when it comes to getting the workers to respawn. Best of luck either way.

A good way to farm CP is to farm the sole Adamantoise in Leviathan's Plaza in Eden. With a Growth Egg, you get 80k CP per kill, with chances of the trap-catalyst crystal, or a plat ingot that you can sell for 120k. The trick is to use Vanille, Hope, Fang, (SAB/SYN/SAB), immediately summon vanille's eiodolon to take out it's legs, and then let the Death spam begin. Once you defeat it, there's the nearby soldiers and behemoths to help you recharge TP for the summon. Once you're satisfied, save at the nearby save point, quit your game, reload, bam -- the turtle is right there again!

Also the Adamantortoise mission. Guaranteed Gold nugget worth 60k, 80,000CP and a chance at Platnum ingot or Trapazohedron. =D As good as the CP is from those turtles i still get more per hour at the KBehemoth and Big Cat dude fight. You can get over the 999,999CP cap within an hour but you have no chance at the gils there ;;

Finally got to beating the game. Working on Marks now, as well as 5-staring the ones I was forced to do in the Tower.
Now that I can buy deceptisol, my rankings are unstoppable!

Beat the game myself too today to unlock final crystarium. It's funny, I didn't see a Progenitorial Wrath at all.

Now time to do missions and 5 star, whether I've done before or haven't, and farm more Adamantoise for traps and ingots.
I farm the one in Eden, Sazh is the main one, also good to have another Ravager (who's also a COM) and a Saboteur.
Summon, Bravery/Haste self, Cold Blood until summon goes away, then Bravery(Faith)/Haste the other 2, back to Cold Blood until Stagger is at 999.99%, then Blitz x 2 until dead.
Since Sazh's Blitz hits 6 times for max damage, he's an adamantoise killing machine.

With my equipment set up, I get 2 TP from killing the Adamantoise, and the 3rd from killing the 2 groups of 2 Sanctum outside of Edenhall entrance.
Then save at the save point, quit and reload save, and turtle is back.
Rinse and repeat.

I still prefer the king behe/dog grind for tp > tele to adaman to make him respawn best. But later than adaman turns into long gui and you cant do it anymore, cause those things will rape you.
