Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

He's talking about when you do a Mark mission from that circle of Cie'th stones, there's a small cutscene where Titan roars and then the entire Steppe gets covered in a kind of fog.
Yes, it lasts until you either complete the mission or cancel it.

It doesn't really affect anything, other than what type of wool the big sheep you can find in 1 of 4 spots around the Steppe gives you (of course after getting the initial cutscene with Vanille yanking on some Fluffy Wool in the Aggra's Pasture)

I think the fog gives thick wool, not much point to the wool though, there's 4 different types.
I hear it can give a EXP multiplier quick, but there's much better methods with items you can buy easily.

I dont really get what you are asking but... If you want to cancel a hunt mission you can just click the stone again and the text will provide you the option.

Dunno how far you are in the game, maybe you need to have triggered this mission to know what I mean. If it helps at all the mission I started that triggered the sequence is "What's yours is brine" (57)

Edit: oh lulz there's more responses. Thanks for the info guys. The black fog was kind of annoying so I turned off the system before saving and went on with some other business outside the game. I felt bad for the sheep when she did that D:

Ok I've beaten all of the missions in the circle, and the only mission I have left is 64. I see no change in the adamantoise, adamanchild. Did I miss something?

EDIT: Never mind, when I started playing today they were there, I guess I just had to reload the game.

Question, when do I get access to the final stage of the Crystarium? Is it after beating the final boss? Also, is it better to kill some of the marks after beating the game, or before?

After the final boss you get the final stage. Some marks you can kill during chapter 11, others would be very hard. Do the first 14 and get the chocoboo definitely, and try some of the titan trials if you want. I couldn't do them all, but I got through a lot of them. I couldn't 5 start some until after I beat the game though.

I got as far as Rakvitja (sp?) on the Titan trials, then it mopped the floor with me with multi-cast Aeroga =/ most of the marks I've managed to beat with 3-5 stars, only one giving me issues is Gigantuar (10k Needles hurts) and Virnitra. Do I lose access to any marks after beating the boss?

I got to Neochu atm on Chapter 11 only going through the trials once. He kicked my ass O.o I can last awhile but when he does screech or whatever it really does too much damage >< even with so many upgraded items to help reduce the damage.

Naw, you can do any of them at any time after the game if you want to move on with the story.

Think I'll do that then, I've killed most of the marks by now, but I still struggle with the Adamantchelid's, much less the bigger parents >.<

If you take some of the lower paths in the titans trials, you'll have more luck. They're a lot easier than some of the ones on the top (I'm talking about the chart of the paths, bottom easier, top harder).

The death spell is your friend. It took me a few tries ... like 5-10 but eventually death landed and I got the egg.

ya I wasn't using Vanille :P and I decided to go do the other low level quests then I'll go back to the other high end and just try death spelling it.

The sooner you get it, the less grinding you'll have to do at the end of the game. Its the only reason I rushed and did the death trick to kill it in ch 11 rather than waiting.

ya I'm gonna start using her, but first I wanna get some more items to sell from adamantcheld and stuff to raise her weapon that has the thing that helps land the spells. WIthout it, it takes FOREVER ><

I do alright with the base model belladonna wand, no boosts. Also, if you're fighting adamantcheld I hope you're after the gold dust and not the platinum ingots, 'cause the ingots come from the tougher breeds that wear armor.

It takes forever with or without it really lol. With A maxed second tier, it took me a good 10 tries before I got it. It took DW even longer than that. But yeah, we went ahead to that just to get CP faster while we finished the game/did other missions.

ya the gold dust :P the Adamantoise kick mah butt still.

some tips for killing adamantoise with death a little earlier

First I want to point out, if you run all the way to the edenhall gate when farming at leviathans gate, the turtle will respawn without saving and reloading, if you need TP go through the gate and come back out, all the soldiers will have respawned (and for some reason soldiers give way more TP per battle) (you can also skip the gate openning cutscene)

1. Eidollin summon right away but you knew that already

2. set your openning paradigm to sab/sab/sab - Saboteurs have a hidden effect that give a slight boost to party members landing debuffs (death is included)

3. equip Vanille with an auto-vigilance accoesory and sprint shoes if you have it, belladonna wand also (i also did auto-faith, cant prove it does anything)

4. spam death while the eidolin is out, DO NOT USE GESTALT, 2 reasons, 1 the recover timer on the legs doesnt seem to move at all with the eidolin out. 2 the timer DOES seem to move with the eidolin in gesalt mode

5. Keep sab/sab/sab and continue (one of yours sabs should have curse)

6. the random auto-chain synthesized ability seems to help when it procs.... death seems easier to land when the adamantoise is staggered....

If the turtle gets up, hit retry, wash rinse repeat....

That being said..... Anyone have tips on killing the shaolong and long guis???? I completed the mark missions and now there are no more adamantoises.... I still have the one at leviathans gate.... but i maxed out my crystarium already and now need to farm gil for equipment upgrades

I actually reloaded the save from before I did the last mission from the ring of stones because I need Ingots more than I need traps ATM, I have 7 traps, and I need gil to upgrade weapons and accessories. But I did kill a couple of each, and the fights are long, and not guaranteed wins lol.

First Sen/Sen/Sen is a must, and your best friend lol. Helps on Ultima a lot, and if you're quick you can catch the stomps too.

Other paradigms

Med/Med/Med
Rav/Rav/Rav
Com/Com/Com
Com/Rav/Med
Sab/Sab/Syn

The legs stagger surprisingly quickly, and you can take one out with one stagger finished with a Highwind. Debuff when i goes down. Rav x 3 to run up the stagger bar then 3 x Com to do the damage. Keep buffs up as much as possible. It took me 3-4 times knocking it down to kill the Long Gui. I'll go back to them when I upgrade some gear and I think I'll be able to kill them on 2 times knocking it down. Killing it off one knockdown I don't know about.

I've landed death on a turtle that was standing up a number of times now. As long as you can survive the foot stomping I suggest trying this.
