Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

Probably "other" lol

Anyone else notice that the drop rates on the Adamantoise in Eden is insanely high compared to the ones on the plains? I get something more than half the time from them, whereas in the plains it was more like 10-15%. I kinda miss the ultimate weapons there were a pretty blue and usually clear. It's cool that these ones look so menacing, but the whole black/brown thing doesn't appeal to me.

The quick stagger has only proced about 3 times for me, but I gotta say I love it. Question: Does equipping multiple collectors catalogs increase the drop rates?

I've read that equipping multiples of the same catalog does not stack, but equipping the different kinds of catalogs will stack.

Yeah, equipping multiple has no effect. So you should upgrade one so you can have increased regular and rare drops.

Also, the Titan's Trails Ochu is cake compared to the Growth Egg one. I didn't use death for the Titan's, but did for the Egg.

Ok thanks for the info guys ^^

You did it before going to Chapter 12 though? :P I still haven't gone beyond chapter 11. I've almost 5 starred everything up to mission 50. Haven't done anything passed mission 50, yet. And I thought upgrading the catalogs eventually upgraded them to a shitty item that you wouldn't want to upgrade them to anyways O.o

Spoiler:
Actually I believe Oerba was empty for other reasons. As you may recall, near when Fang is introduced as a character, she spoke about how cocoon was portrayed as a viper's nest, one that posed a threat to Pulse. As such the war of transgression was unrelated to this exodus to cocoon, sine it had already been established and was feared but those still on pulse. If you read the analects that are unlocked in the datalog as you complete certain parts of the game and cie'th stone missions, you can get an accurate history of what went down.

Damn I totally forgot about the analects, but that makes sense. I forgot the war of transgression was 150 years ago? Where Fang and Vanille are from 500 years ago.

Something crossed my mind today that can foreplay for a future sequal.

Spoiler:
In the ending cutscene right before the 2nd form of orphan, where Fang and Vanille believed everyone was turned to Cie'th, Snow and the others reappeared and they claimed to see the future with everyone smiling while they were in the dark and quiet room they were kept in. They specifically mentioned that Fang was there with them. Could there premonition be real and a hint to a sequal where Fang comes out of crystal stasis or was it just what they saw to be real?

I did it on Chapter 11 also.

Upgrade the first catalog once and you get Connosseur's Catalog which "Increases the odds of obtaining rare items after battle." Collector's increases odds of obtaining items, which is just their normal drops.

Ah I see :P how'd you manage to do the stupid Neochu in the Trial? I barely could do it only cause I had to keep a sentinel all the time and most of the time I had to go double medic + sentinel right after screech ><

5 staring a battle also increases the chance of rare items x5.

You know what, ignore me lol. I did kill it with Death. I did it so fast that I forgot that I even killed it with death. I used Death like 5 times and it died lol. It was cake because it doesn't have other mobs helping it out though.

That it does!

Ah :P well I'm gonna go try again, it took me like 20 minutes before death stuck. I wanna go 5 star it though. And it's funny trying to farm Adamantchelid (or whatever) for the gil items, I get their "Rare" drops more XD Only fought one adamantoise so far, did the whole death trick to it after summoning Vanille's summon out. Kinda yay win but it feels like a cheap win to me. I'll come back to these and try without once I finally decide to go finish the game. I think after I 5 star this and a few other battles I'll go get the mission for growth egg then hop on up to Eden. I don't wanna do the circle of the mission stones yet cause I know it'll change Adamantoise into Long Gui's sooo ya. What about the adamantchelid btw? Do those change too?

It doesn't change Adamantoises, just Adamantortoises and Adamanchelids. I still kill that Adamantoise in Eden for money on occasion.

Adamantortoises? I didn't know there was one.. or maybe I'm just not being observant

Yeah, Tortoises are easier than Toises. Same drop rates too if I remember correct.

I'm confused now, where did the other thread go :O

Threads with over 1000 posts usually get split because big threads take up a lot of database space.

Ooooh thanks. For some reason I didn't see my own post at the top when I scrolled back O.o

An interesting theory, though I'm thinking it was just an oversight. I really dislike how they handled the whole Cie'th turing back into a human thing. If it were so easy to transform back there wouldn't be so many wandering about trying to kill us. Also with regards to the war of transgression and fang/vanielle, I think they turned into ragnarok *during* said war and cracked cocoon. Whether it was 150 or 500 years ago idk, but they were def. at the same time.

I think calling it "the 2nd" is just lazy. Try to be funny or throw in something from the game atleast.

Blame the mod that split the thread >:
I'm 2/6 on my party's max crystarium.Once I'm halfway through with the third, I'm gonna head back to the Faltwarrens.
