Final Fantasy 13 Hype Thread (the 2nd)

God, I don't even know where to start after I beat the game, let alone have the time. But I want to complete it all.

I beat Attacus...
with a 3-star ranking ;-;

Guess I'll come back after I get the Gold Watch or something.

Well I did everything in Pulse (mission-wise) except 51, 54, and 57 (I think) and beyond :P I wanna finally beat the game.

Ooooh thanks. For some reason I didn't see my own post at the top when I scrolled back O.o

Spoiler:
An interesting theory, though I'm thinking it was just an oversight. I really dislike how they handled the whole Cie'th turing back into a human thing. If it were so easy to transform back there wouldn't be so many wandering about trying to kill us. Also with regards to the war of transgression and fang/vanielle, I think they turned into ragnarok *during* said war and cracked cocoon. Whether it was 150 or 500 years ago idk, but they were def. at the same time.

Here's what I got from the analects and the story as a whole:

spoiler warning!

Spoiler:
Yes, the War of Transgression WAS when Vanille and Fang turned into Ragnarok and cracked Cocoon. The reason why there are no people on Gran Pulse anymore is because they all fell to killing and stealing from each other due to their lack of unity after the war. Didnt help of course that the fal'Cie were grabbing people and turning them into l'Cie left and right either. Add on top of that the primal nature of Gran Pulse (think little fish gets eaten by big fish) and it just caused the population to dwindle to the point of extinction.

Reason why the Pulse fal'Cie are trying to destroy Cocoon (from what I understood) is because they see it as an affront to the "Maker" who created them and the humans. fal'Cie were supposed to focus on terraforming Pulse and making it somewhat hospitable, but Barthandelus and the Cocoon fal'Cie chose to instead create Cocoon and in order to cultivate its eventual human inhabitants for use as a mass sacrifice to summon the Maker.

Correction to above spoiler:

Spoiler:
Only fang turned into Ragnarok during the war. Not both of them.

My bad, was typin too fast >.< thanks Tyrath

So it was a number of things that led to Cocoon's extinction. I thought they all took a permanent vacation in Cocoon. At least, some of them did.

I watched the trailer for FFXIII versus yesterday, and was surprised to hear Yoko Shimomura's "Somnus" as the BGM. I'm wondering if she'll be the main composer for this game, 'cause I have some of her music on my ipod and love it.

Fixed it for ya ^^

Arg I hate the final boss!! Insta-death is the gayest thing ever when he targets your party leader and if they die you lose -_- just shows how bad the "party leader death = you lose" aspect is. My only real hate about this game is that :P o well.

He never even used that ability on me, didn't get the chance to.
And nah, I don't mind that aspect, it's like that in Persona titles and I like it, and in those there's more enemies that can use instant death.
Equip cherub/seraph crowns for death resist.

Anyways, haven't played in a while, borrowed Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Arkham Asylum and been playing those, as well as Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time.

You may need to develop your characters further if death is giving you grief. It was cast on my main character a number of times, most of which were resisted. I'm guessing that has something to do with how much magic you have.

Nah it was just bad luck. I maxed out all three of my primary jobs and 2 of my secondary for each character XD I kinda did a ridiculous amount of extra stuff in FFXIII in chapter 11 before even heading up and Growth Egg constantly on since I got it sure kept the CP rolling. Finally beat the game, sad ending :( yet kinda like "wtf is going on?"

Oh wow, very impressive. I beat the game only with the primary roles maxed out. I've since worked on trying to max out the secondary roles, but it's a very slow process once you get to the final two tiers, as I guess you now know. I'm close to maxing out the second one, so I'm guessing I need roughly 3 million CP to be done with it all.

Wow O.O ya I'm gonna prolly be grinding out a ton later XD but since I beat FFXIII I think I'll take a break and get to God of War and come back to this after. But it was fun, most of my characters had 10k health at the final boss and about 1700 of the stat they were strong in (cept sazh, he was more rounded around 1100-1200 for both I think). I basically went through the last two chapters with the item drop rate and growth egg on at all time and just plowed through stuff.

I like Lightning as a Sentinel btw. Evade is awesome. Totally ninja tanking! haha.

I think I'll take a break and get to God of War

A wise choice. I took a break in the middle of FFXIII to play GoW3, and it was awesome. I think the one problem I have with it is that they didn't really get very creative with weapons IMO.

Ya I hear their weapons are basically "chains + blade" but still fun over all.

Never played GoW 1 or 2 so I have some work to do. I know, I should be shot.

Doing the marks now and having some fun, but something REALLY weird is going on.

Since I took the portal back to Pulse and running around fighting, I'm getting really low star ratings, no higher then 3 stars. I use Rav/Com/Syn with Lightning fang and hope so I thought I was killing to slow for it and switched to relentless assault. No good still.

I'm beating the time limit, why is it so ridiculous?

Sounds like a bug to me. You may want to go back to a previous save where this isn't happening and then restart from there. Then again you may not :p

Your score is a more accurate way to determine your star rating.
I think it's like 16k+ or 20k+ for a five star rating.
