I'm kind of frustrated with the game myself, right now. I'm in Taejin's Tower at the moment, and during the climb you have to do mandatory Hunts against monsters. Problem is, I'm stuck on Mushussu.
I can kill him just fine, killing him isn't a problem. But I want to get all the trophies in this game, and one of them is for getting, from what I understand, a five-star ranking on every hunt.
I looked around on the internet, and the description for the Achievement is to just get 5-stars on all Cie'th stone missions, not necessarily all hunts.
But I don't want to accept this 3-star ranking I get from Mushussu and then find out later I was lied to.

Oh there's death resist accessories, but they aren't 100%, highest one is only 40%.

And for Mushussu, all the hunts are part of the 64 missions, some of them are required to advance the story, ie the one you're on now.
You can repeat all missions though, so if you want to wait until later, you can get a gold watch accessory from completing the final mission, 64, which increases target time.
That's the main reason you get low battle ranks is if you take too long.
Another possibility is to use weapons with low strength and magic stat attributes as upgrades on equipment are taken into account in determining your target time.
 
Fought chapter 9 final boss last night, three times. Really annoyed at that point, looked out wtf I'm supposed to do since it seemed totally retarded to me (I think you know what I'm talking about). Turns out I was doing it a bit wrong, dunno how much what I'm supposed to do will help though.
 
Just gonna say, when the vocals popped out in the chocobo theme I totally jammed out to it.

Haha nice, I was surprised it had vocals to begin with. Just got to a boss in chapter 10, dunno if it's the final boss or a mid boss, but it pissed me off with its seraph wave or w/e. Had to die and create new paradigms, will be trying again later, my brother just came home with BC2 and it's his ps3 ; ;
 
Its not the last boss. Its the half-way boss :P

No shit, I tried to fight them first time I saw them.

I got 1-shotted ; ;

Right now I'm in the middle of chapter 11 and backtracked to the first starting area to try and get all of the side-quests that's possible for me to kill atm. The main 3 roles are all maxed out as much as possible on my chars, so I don't think I'll have a very hard time progressing in the story at least :P
 
After a bit of struggling and grinding, I finally beat the Chapter 11 boss.
 
I couldn't play at all today which I'm pissed about. I played until 3 am last night leaving off with Fang and Lightning.

Gotta say, Palumpolum is freaking beautiful. It's very rare that I stop in a game to look at it's visuals. The music fits well.
 
I stopped after King Behemoth on Chapter 12.
A word or advice: when you get to the first map in Chapter 12, tilt your camera down.
It's fucking beautiful.
 
I am currently grinding Incentive Chips in Hopes house. Another good thing of doing this is getting them CP there.

I keep farming CP only to find that no matter how much you farm, the next expansion of the Crystarium will make it seem useless lol. The CP requirement jumps are ridiculous.
 
What's the jump from 5 to 6 like? I currently have 14k saved up on Lightning, Fang, and Hope but I can keep farming if the jump is stupidly high.

lol The number of crystals double in the next stage and each orb is 1k+ <_< Its honestly not worth maxing everything right now. It'll just keep jumping like that. Just get a decent amount, move on. Later on you'll be able to farm much faster.
 
Doesn't matter to me, I'm mostly farming those chips so I can get all my chars weapons to atleast lvl 20.
