Final Fantasy 7

If you have never played it before you may be turned off by the graphics but the story is wonderful. Give it a go.

Yes but its overrated. Everyone remembers FF VII because it was the first 3-D FF game on a new and hot console that just came out. It spanned an unheard of 3 discs and had an epic storyline. At the time it would have been the best game you could ever find and got alot of hype. FF VIII was good, but a lot of people had high expectations and wanted it to be better that FF VII, which sadly it's not. Next is FF IX, my personal favorite in the series, which was released pretty close to the PS2 release and I think got overlooked a little and not as many people talk about it. FF X is also excellent and currently the only good FF on PS2. I got into FF when FF X was released and everyone was out buying it. At the time I only had about $20 and decided to try FF IX since it was cheap and see if I liked the FF series. From playing FF7-10 and the spin off FF X-2 I would rate them as this:
FF VII:10/10 the 2nd best game, only behind FF IX for storyline IX is amazing even if it lacks Sephiroth
FF VIII:9/10 not as good as the others, but come on its FF
FF IX:10/10 everything to do with the game is great and my favorite
FF X:10/10 great story and characters, Auron is the best char. out of any FF
FF X-2:7/10 not really good but you play it to see what happens after the surprise ending in FF X
Bottom line FF VII really is one of the best game you will ever play from THE best game series, but is a little over hyped from the timing in which it came out, try some others such as FF IX.



Also try the Kingdom Hearts games. The disney added in pisses you off at first but if you can get passed it there is a great storyline.

Yes but you can't play it while camping, it's fullscreen onry.

It also doesn't work very well on windows XP.

I agree with Zarrok. FF9 was my all time favourite. Everyone has a favourite from 7-10. But that doens't mean certin ones of them is not worth playing.

SMITE!!!! I still think FFVI is the best, Kefka's laugh still haunts my dreams, and Cyan I think has one of the best storylines in any RPG.

FFVI was decent but it just felt unreal how things moved along.. didn't feel, to me, to be as smooth as some other things. Though, SE has been getting better and better at that.

No smiting here. FF8 is my favorite of the PS1 incarnations. I regularly inspire fanboys to scream "BLASPHEMY!" when I say I didn't think FF7 was not the all-powerful bundle of joy they think it is.

I've always loved FF6 for having so many characters yet each character had their own great story. There was just so much stuff to immerse(sp?) yourself in.

As for the psx versions, FFIX is definitely my favorite of the 3(VII, VIII, IX), I just love the old school feel to it, and all the nods to previous FF's in it.

FFVII doesn't work very well wth your pc. Well at least there are some bugs with it, you have to find some patches for some of the problems.

any of you who think ff 8 was better than 7, clearly something is wrong with you <_> dont get me wrong i really liked 8, but as far as the PS1 incarnations go it would have to be 7>9>8, numerically anyways, i always found tactics to be kind of fun, once u actually get some decent equips and jobs lvled

Who else besides me cried when Aeris died. That is one of the top things about this game that made me so attached. When Cloud has his little blackouts in Advent Children, especially around the end i still get kinda choked up. Also this is what epidomized Sephiroth as being the best villian in video game history.

And yes, I do realize u guys are gonna rag on me for the rest of this thread...but what can i say. I'm just a big softy at heart.

FFX and FFX-2 are by far the worst out of the series, just doesnt feel like final fantasy
