Final Fantasy IV DS Official Thread:

Yeah it's unfortunate, but no worries, I'll just continue to ignore him.

OOOH this game is so much FUN!! I LOVE IT!!

I currently just met Porom and Palum, and I gotta go to Mt. Ordeals to become a paladin :)

This game is addicting, somewhat of a challange, I died to the Mother Bomb or whatever her name was when she self destructed once, so I had to level up a bit and retry.

I had to recharge my DS before Mt. Hobs, gonna be hitting up that place later, but for now I'm going back to bed lol.

Picked up my copy today. Just saved in the outside area right before the 8 legged dude in the water.

I was hoping I'd be able to play this at work today (As opposed to trolling around the boards), but alas, it has not arrived yet. I'm hoping it's waiting for me when I get home. D:

My only gripe is they lowered the amount of gil that enemies drop, like at Mysidia, it didn't take all that long to get enough money to buy the Paladin armor before going to Mt. Ordeals, but now I'm getting like 20-80gil a battle, and I need 15,000 for the 4 pieces, going to take forever.

Oh wow... that's abysmal.

I had about 14k by the time I got there and sold my stuff. I only had to grind I think 400g to get the shield (which is 700g total). I made that getting Palom/Porom up to level 15.

Yeah, I'm a packrat though and like to have at least one of each item else I'd sell my old stuff. I'm working on getting Palom and Porom to 20 at the moment, have 2000 right now, we'll see how much I have after. Getting silver armlets to sell from the tiny mages helps too.

Question:

Is this equivalent to Easytype or Hardtype?

Hardtype + 1 for the most part, harder than hardtype generally.

Wow, Scarmiglione second fight was a pain in my ass, I love it.
I know I could have just Cura'ed him to death but this way was funner, until he loses a decent amount of HP he'll just counter spells with a single attack, but when he starts countering spells with Gas it got fun, though when he does that he stops countering regular attacks with Cursed Elegy, so yeah, looking forward to Cagnazzo.

Definitely a bit harder. The imps at the beginning have more than 6hp and hit like trucks now.

Sounds like I'm gonna love this.

Gah, I just ordered it from Amazon. I haven't bought a game for the DS since FFIII. I'm noticing a pattern. Although I keep wanting to grab Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer but I am unsure if I would get into a pretty hardcore rougelike game.

Cagnazzo was a ho, I'm really looking forward to the Dark Elf, I love this difficulty.

Another addition I'm really enjoying is the auto-mapping. It's a nice incentive to explore every corner of the dungeons. The unexpected side-effect is that I now tend to navigate by the bottom screen instead of watching my character trudge through the scenery.

Yeah, I like that, plus getting items for filling in a map of an area 100%, and there's a augment you get by completing all maps 100% also.
