Just picked this up. I'm at the intro part.
I lol'd when one of the personal goals was "I want to get my warrior to level 75!"

OH hell, I must get this lol
Wonder what new job classes they addded. Guess I'll look it up.

I'm loving it so far. The writing is good and Luso cracks me up. I logged 70 hours on the GBA version, so this should keep me busy awhile (at least until FF4 DS comes out).

There's a handy unlockable if you have the first game in the GBA slot when you load a file.

Is it a good idea to play through FF:Tactics or FF12 first? I was thinking of getting Tactics for the GBA since it's cheap now anyway, but I'll probably never play FF12. Even if it's not a direct sequel to either, are there little easter eggs you'd only pick up on if you played the other games?

You'll be safe playing it without the others. It's set in the same world, but designed to serve as a player's first introduction to Ivalice.

If you enjoy it, by all means go back and get the GBA version. It holds up well.

I like how chocobos sound exactly the same as they do in FFXI.

Seems they nerfed Damage -> MP, which I like. Now any leftover damage converts over to HP, which makes battles against foes with it set sooo much easier.

I also like how the law system is significantly less annoying than in the original FFTA.

You want laws to be annoying? Try any clan trial where you have to "uphold the law".
If I lose Negotiations I one more time because a knockback counts as a ranged attack I'm gonna lose it.

Some of these laws are completely asinine. No missing? wtcrap, lol.

I got that for General Training I. It's bullshit, but at least you can break it in that quest.

I haven't broken the law a single time yet :P I like the game, enjoy it more then War of the Lions.

56 jobs? Wow I'm gonna look into getting this

I'm also really happy that Dispatch missions are now entirely optional. I like tackling them myself, no matter how easy.

Laws are fixed per-mission, by the way, it's not random like in FFTA.
If you get something like "No damage > 50" while fighting piddly level 3 monsters, that was completely intentional.

There are still certain missions you have to choose one person to dispatch for a while. I agree though, I never dispatch unless it's one of the aforementioned required ones.

BTW believe it or not, Oust is really good for those <XX dmg missions. I'm not used to things like that working but it works pretty regularly in this game. I was able to Oust for the one clan mission where you have to kill the high level dude w/ minimal damage. I'm sure the other one-shot abilities work fine too.

I'm liking this game a lot.
Although it's very easy to get sidetracked from the main story and do side quests. My characters are level 35ish, and the next quest's rank is 24.
Wat.

Anybody get the Dmg > 25 yet? I lol'd and broke it immediately.

Also, where are the damn Seeq and Gria? 117 missions completed, 12 clan members all between 25 and 43 and still haven't seen them. I have raptor unlocked and no Grias to use it... wtf?

I have a Seeq. I don't have a Gria yet but I just haven't advanced the plot enough yet.
