Final Fantasy Tactics..for PSP

Be sweet if Balthier was confirmed to be in the game. I'll have to replace Beowolf(sp) as the new member of my dream team that I had from the ps1 and he'll be my dark knight. I'm guessing it'll be his default job like Soilder was for Cloud. I'm also interested in what skills the onion knight has to offer.

I don't understand why balthier would be put in as a Dark knight default? Wouldn't it make sense for him to be some gun wielding job?
 
Balthier isn't the Dark Knight, but Dark knight is getting added as a new job you can choose to make your team members.
Balthier is a Freelancer job, and also going to have some bearing in the story.

How he will be making the jump is unclear, but he will be a "freelancer" specializing in machines.

Square Enix has revealed some new information regarding its upcoming PlayStation Portable title Final Fantasy Tactics: Shishi Sensou. The game will feature a new job called Dark Knight. Furthermore, Final Fantasy XII's Balflear is set to make an appearance in the game. However he won't just be a random guest character (i.e. Cloud), but will actually play a role in Ramza's story.

Well I stated that because theres only two new jobs in the game, or so they say, so if Balthier gets his own job thats new that makes a third new job. So I figured new character means making him with one of the new jobs. Your right though, they could make him use a gun like they did mustadio. These are just my guesses.

They have only revealed 2 jobs so far, but there could be more no?
 
YESSSS! HELLS YESSS ! finally lol a reason to play my PSP again...piece of shi... hahaha. Dark Knight ahhh just like Gafgarion coo coo coo, can't wait for this to come out. I play the original here and there cuz it's still bad as hell. Oh man for those of you who haven't played this one.....lol you suck. The storyline is freaking great.

Edit: I always wondered what the missing link was between FFT's Ivalice and FFXII's Ivalice. Hopefully that's why Balthier is on the game. Different time periods, but when and why?

Oh come on! It's Balthier! What's to say he hasn't found a way to time travel and/or be omnipotent. I don't care whether it makes sense or not, more Balthier is a GOOD thing. :3

yeah that could be possible I guess. From what I've read it sounded like they were only doing two so I just went off of that info, but then again, nothing is in stone yet either. Maybe Balthier will have his own job. I hope theres more than two jobs. I'd like to see assasin become playable. I've always wanted to play that and sorceor. All magic skill would be sweet. I know calculater could do that with free mp but with sorceror you can control where you want your spells to target. Plus they had dark holy which I always wanted to learn. That and it made me wonder what else they had. Who knows maybe Dark knight will have dark holy.

Or they could do something completely new like onion knight.
 
Sorry to bump an old thread, but dunno if you all have seen these scans of the Onion Knight and Dark Knight. Plus we get to see official artwork for Balthier both ingame and cutscene. I'm liking how the Dark Knight turned out, and I'm glad that the cutscenes are done like the official artwork. The 4th scan seems to hint at another hidden character. Also interesting is that Cloud has not been confirmed, you think he was taken out?

Looks sweet, Onion Knight and Dark Knight look almost exactly like their FFIII DS counterparts, can't wait to use Balthier and play co-op matches as well :)
Mystery character/pic kinda looks like Vaan, but who knows.

I'd say it's Marche from Tactics: Advance, but it lacks the Edward Elric-esque hair antenna. Otherside, the outline matches his build and outfit.
 
Man, now I wish I wouldn't have sold my PSP.
 
I know this isn't on topic.. but it's also PSP news.. (and Pupusa seems to check here and he knows more about this than any other I know <3) What of Disgaea for the PSP? Is that JP only or is it coming out for US? :D

As of right now, it's still Japan only. We can hope it gets a Stateside release, but the trust me, once that's announced I'll be the first one to post about it.
 
I don't doubt that :P gawd Disgaea was so awesome.. I really need to find money and pick up the second one x.x

Skaw is right on the money. That's exactly who I tought it was when I saw the silouette.

Additionally, I agree, Dark Knight looks dumb. Won't they e broken if they get Night Sword, though? I mean that attacks one of the things that made Orlandu so broken to begin with.

While a remake is good and all, think they actually fixed any of the issues from the original one? Difficulty wise, Velius was more or less the final boss...everything else afterwards just goes down within 2-3 turns, even with an average party. I can't express how disappointed I was with the Altima fight.

Not really. What made Orlandu so broken was his ridiculous strength with the special attacks. He would be popping 400+ hits whereas people like Agrias did 200 or so.
