The real RMT issues do not revolve around Flys... try Cows' shell and the god damn buying bots at all the guilds. More RMT comes from crafters than from NM / god kills... these people understand that investing money in crafting makes them more gil / hr than fishing or nm hunting etc. With the hundred of millions of gil for sale on our server..... the NM's and gods are a small drop in the bucket.

If hunting HNM like Sim and Serket is such a small drop in a bucket then why don't you tell your fly friends to go craft then. At least then you'll have ppl bitching about the Flys buying all the craft ingredients on the ah because they decided to turn over a new leaf and leave the HNM/God hunting to the ppl that like the thrill of killing w/o expecting not to meet a quota so they can make a measly $5.00 so they can feed their kids.

I would lke to go into the ecconomics of how RMT crafters ruin the game more than NM hunters... but it would seem wasted... I therefore will just conceed... I am evil and am out to ruin the game for all of us.

All this "ruining" people refer to is nonsense. No one person or small group of people can ruin the game. Our server is suffering inflation due mostly in part to the number of high level jobs people have access to now, in fact at this very moment 25% of all the people on the server are level 70-75 and that is just the non-hidden people.

We also need to consider that all the high level crafters need hard to find items and ingredients and that combined with SE's constant lowering of drop rates has resulted in demand exceeding supply. Now we all know SE lowers drop rates to curb over-farming but we also know that isn't the way it works. Making it harder to aquire the things we need/want just drives prices up and makes everyone unhappy. And we also know what this leads to....yes....your right.....Gil Buying!

So if we want an end to buying attacking the sellers isn't the way to do it....we need to attack the cause of the demand for bought-gil and put more money into circulation by allowing players to earn it instead of buying it.

I ran on a bit but it's really the only answer I can see...If anyone else has any ideas along this line please say so. Thank you.

Considering when you posted this (1:30 AM Central, 16:30 JST) I think it's safe to assume that the majority of the JP population still playing this game + the NA/EU population that would be awake at the time would be at least 20-25% 70+. I'd suggest trying a server population check at around 1PM Eastern tomorrow (3AM JST) and see if that percentage changes at all.

Skipping over a couple pages (sorry), but I just hafto ask..

If this stupid little group makes 10mil...20, 50, whatever per week..and it's split between up to 18 people as you call it...thats about 500k-2.5mil a week. Doesn't matter if you think that's meager or not, where the hell does it all go? And why is their gear STILL only half-decent over the past few months?

Math note - Few months (being 12+ weeks): 12 x 500k-2.5mil = 6-30mil per person. Again, where the hell does it all go?

I don't know what anyone does with their gil honestly but that is really none of my business....I can tell you that they spend gil like crazy just in an average day's hunting. There's all the best +1 food items which they use alot of, I do myself now that I've got gil to spend. There are also the silent oils we go through, 1 to 2 stacks a day sometimes, not to mention prism powders. There are potions such as Hi-Ethers and Hi Potions, we don't use these as much but when we do the costs soar as you all know. Don't forget the chocobo prices at Mea where we go 2 or 3 times a day and in Port Jeuno. I actually enjoy the constant go-go-go since it gives a sense of purpose but lordy does it ever suck up the gil. You also need to keep in mind that killing an HNM doesn't mean a thing...the really valuable item(s) don't drop everytime so alot of the time we make-do with the small cash pay-out and the lesser items. Don't forget that alot of HNM/God LS shell owners have the gear they do because they skim-off-the-top or just openly take what they want from their members, Peterli and the others share everything so it's not so easy for them to line their own pockets (ie Prophecy).

These things all support what I keep telling people and that is that none of us make a "fortune" but we do well enough to keep wanting to try. We also enjoy the kill as much as anyone else...there's a real sense of accomplishment when you take down something major like Serket or even Genbu. No matter how much people hate on these guys or for whatever reason they are my friends and I won't stab them in the back to placate the rabble.

"Guilty by association" is a fact of life. If you hang around with a bunch of thugs on the street corner, you can't be taken aback when people treat you like one. If you hang around with gilsellers in the game, it's also fair to assume you are one. As for proving whether one is a gilseller or not, it's simple comparison. There are people that are gilsellers beyond a shadow of a doubt. There're enough of them to form a stereotype to label anyone who behaves similarly a gilseller. It doesn't matter if the person sells gil. The community didn't grow to hate gilsellers because of the financial transactions that happen out of game. So your "easier" method of obtaining money includes the use of MPK, stealing, trying to lag out your competition when they have the NM, botting and other 3rd party programs? The gil sellers that farm or the gil sellers that craft most people dont have a problem with, or at least I don't. That's obtaining money in a legitimate way and I couldn't care less how they spend it.

A lot of the hatred of gil sellers comes from their use of any and all unseemly tactics to get gil. If they just camped NM's and accepted it when someone else claimed, there wouldn't be many problems with them either. It's the fact that they break the rules and grieve everyone who manages to outclaim them that a lot of people don't like them.

You want to be friends with them, fine; no one's saying that you can't get along with them. At the same time, do not expect the people who have been MPK'ed by your friends to be cheering because you're camping with the gil sellers. Your reputation is important in this game, and being known for helping out the gil sellers, especially helping out in an MPK or steal, will effect how people view you.

You're all saying that everyone is hating you because you camp with gil sellers, but not once do you bother to wonder if maybe our hatred of them is justified. You're trying to act like a vicitim when you're really not being much better than the gil sellers are. Legally, you're an accomplice, so stop acting like you're not doing anything wrong. All I have to say is that the group from SaluteII, or whatever they are now, was always a very kind group. They played fair, were courteous, and friendly. That doesn't change what they do..Which is camp almost 24/7. Pretty hard to sit and say they are 'normal' players.

Didn't read all of this, but I have to say..The real winners are the people who taught the gilsellers how to handle the higher end of the game, like HNM, which will eventually turn into kings. Can't wait til the day I see Ijdfasoijfwejoi wearing a Crimson Mask.
