Final Fantasy XIV was announced today at E3 for PS3.. being SE next MMO

I am excited as hell about this ;o
 
I was just about to post this. I am so excited about this. Been waiting on their new MMO for a long time. I think it might be time to play FFXI again until FFXIV comes out! WoW is getting a little redundant anyway.

This is the best thing I have heard in a very long time.
 
I'm just going to wait and see. Not to thrilled on the whole PS3 exclusive thing. But maybe that will change.

Also, there are alot of hardcore FFXI gamers who are going to be hardpressed to put their characters on hold to move to another FF Online game.

Time will tell.
 
So, this thing go down. Will probably get it, unless it gets delayed.
 
FFXIV = FFXI killer? :P I mean, I swear I saw an elvaan and a galka in there (and clearly a human XD) and the world seemed vana'diel-ish but prolly a new world with similar races?

I just hope they learned from the mistakes FFXI had. A little more casual is good (but hardcore is nice) and week/day spawns to get the best gear = fail. Not sure if I'm gonna play this or not, but it looks interesting.

BTW, PS3 exclusive I think means for consoles, but I imagine it'll be on PC too (as it's not considered a gaming console apparently)

So is it confirmed that FFXIV = Rapture?
 
Pretty sure thats a Galka and a Hume at least. Coulda sworn there was a taller more Elvaan looking person on the cliff too.

Also, doesn't that scene resemble the artwork that shows when FFXI is being installed? The serpent crashing through the boat with the galka, hume and other races jumping about?

Also, it says "You must join hands...once again." Prehaps a reference to FFXI? A part of me still strongly believes this is connected to Vana'Diel.

Seems strange they'd announce another MMO already, when they announced...whats it called, Rapture?

Either way, I'm very curious!

Anyone else think the title art is a bit laughable? "Final Fantasy XIV: A big pile of 'whatsits'"

I mean it looks like a pile of weapons they took out of my back porch.

I mean it looks cool, but IDK if I'd want to buy a game for a console I dont have to support a game company who treats its consumers like children.

Anyone else notice that they are using FFXI face models for some of them? They aren't even bothering to make new ones.

Let's be honest, most of them are basically just game versions of cliche anime/manga character templates.

It's to be expected that they'd reuse them, really.
 
dangit just when i decided to return and start anew to FFXI. this isn't really giving me much motivation. too psyched out about FFXIV.

hehe and i believe the "You must join hands...once again." simply points to the online feature of the game and not merely a means to tie the 2 games together. Though it would be nice
 
I really think it is FFXI v 2.0 XD and ya, I dunno, I'm so conflicted about it :P
