As I've been saying, you want people to trust you enough, you've got to prove you've changed. You can keep saying, how can I prove it if noones talking to me, but small changes here and there wil start you off. Then once some people see the small changes, then make big chances and word will get around. Just look at it like this, FFXI is a zoo and your the main attraction, start dancing and people will shout to everyone to watch the monkey dance. So dance monkey dance.

BBT's always been kind and courtious to me, and I'm kind of a prick. The way I see it is people keep poking and proding at him like a Lion, then freak out and act like all their suspicions were correct about him when he takes a swipe.

His brother does play his character from time to time, and I actually met his brother as a bit of a fluke while leveling my NIN in the dunes well before I ever met BBT, but long after all the posts about him here. If you aren't trying to see the worst in people when you first meet them, you're far less likely to drag it out.

The problem is that by saying you don’t want any respect, it automatically means you’re not going to give respect in turn.

By pointing out how much you PT and how many jobs you have leveled is just ignoring the fact that you posted a lot of bad things on the flameboard. Because of that people have pre-set notions about your personality already. A lot of players have read the flameboard, and while most take it with a grain of salt I can see that your posts were very negative. I really think Taurothar said it best with his post:

You say it was your brother, or at least that’s what people claim, but I’m still holding you responsible for what your handle did. So, an apology would work really well instead of defending yourself with little to no ground.

Also, your typing isn’t really that bad. It’s more readable than some other people around QCDN.

No, and it doesn't make any sense either.

Saying "let me in or I quit" isn't indicative of a positive change; and when people don't trust you just saying "I've changed" falls on deaf ears. If you've changed, prove it through action. It will take time, and I'm talking months most likely, for people to believe an actual change has taken place and not that you're just acting better but will revert back as soon as you're let in.

I find the opening post alittle melo dramatic. To be fairly honest why whould half the poster care if you quit? The only ones that would care are your friends. Try applying to shells or asking friends if they know of a endgame shell that you can get into. Also i notice in your ls recruit post that you brought up bad things you did in the past, no one cares as a ls we want to know what you can do for us now. If you keep bringing up the past you make it hard for people to forgive you. Everyone make mistakes, move on and enjoy the game. There are plenty of shell out there that you can join you just need to find one that suits you.

No, you're the one missing the point. Regardless of the fact that your ultimatum worked, just issuing it isn't a positive reflection on your character. Most people do not like threats, especially empty ones that they won't care about if you carry it out. So the fact that you're not going to quit leads directly into the second part.

Since you're going to keep playing, you can prove that you've changed through your actions. I can't believe I actually have to explicitly explain how to NOT have a bad reputation. You don't have to prove it to just me, you have to change your reputation to everyone, so you have to prove you've changed through your behavior in game. That means do not: act like an asshole, act like an idiot, do mean/rude things, don't suck, don't have gimp gear, don't lie/steal/mpk, don't level and leave, etc. At the same time, you can be helpful if people need it or at the very least be polite/courteous to people. By actually being a good player, people will remember that and surprise your reputation will get better. Do it long enough and people will forget about your old reputation, but that will take a good while.

YOU have to be the one to change, as it stands now you need to stop blaming everyone else for not wanting to give you a chance given your current reputation. You have to prove that you've truely changed, until then it's no one's fault but your own if they don't want you.

You can't force people to do something just so you can be happy, doesn't work that way. IF you really want a endgame shell, prove it. Lol I've been gone much longer since bout beginning of March but I think hes referring to logging onto QCDN. But even then, look how long I've been a member and my relatively low post count. Hell BBT has more posts then me and has been here shorter. So wtf you talking bout WSM? I prob only posted on the flameboard 8 times. If your refering to harassing people, I did it to Teppo and I found out I was right at the end... You see me insulting Ele... you don't know our "relationship" she knows I'm only half kidding.
