Fireworks + Brainless Morons =

Me very VERY pissed off.

Read story before answering poll.

I am writing this rant while incredibly angry at the moron behavior of the citizens of a moronic, backwater, inbreeding cesspool of a town called UTTOXETER, STAFFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND!

I'm naming the town for your own safety, do not ever visit this town!

Earlier tonight, myself, my mum, and sister heard the sound of fireworks nearby... well we all thought, "oh shit, not again" so my mum looked out the upstairs window to see where it came from... unfortunately, it came from the park which was right next to where there are easily frightened horses. We all got our boots, jackets and torches out and we rushed down to the park.

lo and behold, there were four utter twats down there setting off fireworks right next to the horses, we all yelled at them to stop and proceeded to shout the hell we had at them. Of course, there were little kids there so we kept it clean.

Anyways, we had backup from another horse lover (I'm gonna thank them tomorrow), but I highly doubt our rants got through those idiots inbred skulls. They say they contacted they're solicitors but who gives a f*ck! Whats more important??? Animal welfare or entertaining little overpaid brats? Seriously, I'm asking!

Thankfully our horses aren't seriously hurt, our horse Bengie has got sore muscles from the shock of the fireworks being set off close, but other than that they're all fine (THANK GOD!).

Why isn't there a law to ban ALL fireworks before special events? Actually, thinking twice about where I live, people will never obey said law and police don't give a damn.

Anyway, discuss, which is more important? Animal welfare or little brats entertainment?

I yelled, no swears, and only threat was lawsuit if they're stupidity injured our animals.

2 women over 18 I believe and 2 kids under the age of 10 I believe.

The damn women also has the cheek to tell us to get a life. Heh. I got the last word though.

Either way I look at it, unless those bastards were aiming the bloody fireworks at people, the police here won't give a damn, this place is hell!

Wow what asses seriously tho I live in England too. Gillingham in Kent (the Gods garden pfft yeah whatever) anyway luckily I live in the nice part, (still isn't amazing) and you can see all the fireworks over the town it looks real nice. But I bet many of them are set off in the wrong places at the wrong time. I mean I could hear em from walking home from school, I mean WTF it isn't even 4 o clock yet.....

I voted brats and I'll tell you why. Brats no matter how much you dont like are people who will one day become more then that (presumably). Saying something should be banned just cause a couple of douches dont obey all the laws would mean everything in this world would be banned.
Starting on that course is a slippery slope. Im sure u did something fucked up at some point in your life that was fun to you at the time and thought about it later and realized you were wrong, its called life experience. Banning fireworks cause it scared some horses is just a dangerous path to go down

yeah, kids will be kids, but that doesnt give them the freedom to do w/e the hell they want when they want. When I was little and I did dumb shit like that, I had my ass beat, and from that I learned how to be a good kid. So really, this is more the parents(?) fault than it is the kids, but still doesnt change anything.

If they want to play with their firecrackers so bad, why cant they go somewhere where someone wont get ticked about it? The majority of 'new' adults in this age have no courtesy or respect whatsoever, and its only getting worse when these things are allowed to happen.

Humans > animals. Some people seem to not know their place on the food chain. Personally, I take great pride in being at the top. Now I'm not saying that torturing animals should be a regular passtime, I have great respect for nature(I think of animals as a part of nature), but I know my place in the world, and I know that place is at the top. I have control over animals, I'm smarter and stronger than they are, that puts me in charge, and they need to respect the chain of command.
For example, I have a dog named Pudge, I've had her for almost 7 years now, ever since she was 6 weeks old. I love her more than alot of people I know, but if she starts to act up and does something stupid or wrong, I won't hesitate in swiftly and painfully smacking her right across the face. I'm the human, she's the dog, she obeys me, not the other way around. You animal rights activists seem to think we're all equal, humans and animals. We're not. If we can use animals for testing things too dangerous to test on humans, great. That's what animals are here for, to serve mankind, in whatever way possible, be it work, scientific testing, food, amusement, guardianship, or just as a companion.

I recently had a conversation with someone I just met not too long ago about animals and humans. She said(and she was dead serious) she would rather kill a human before an animal. And her reasoning? "there's too many people in this world, and animals are nicer than humans". My opinion of and respect for her dropped drastically when she said that, and I doubt I'll ever talk to her much again. I told her that was one of the most fucked up things I've ever heard, and the conversation ended there. What a stupid bitch, she has no idea what she's talking about.

I don't like the way you phrased your question. I think humans should come before animals in all respects. But like I said, I don't think we should be hurting animals just for fun. In this case, it doesn't sound like those kids hurt you're poor precious horses. It sounds to me like they we're being assholes and scaring them, but the most that should warrant is a slap on the wrist and a lesson in courtesy. Also, what Trippy said - you have to take some of the blame for keeping your horses right next to public property.

Way I see it is that, just like Brightblade said, you shouldn't have to ban something because a couple of douche bags are irresponsible. Just because a couple of idiots don't have common sense doesn't mean that they should ruin it for everyone. I like to play with fireworks/crackers but me and my friends atleast have enough common sense to not throw them at children/animals etc. Sure we go around on Halloween night and throw fire crackers at each other or even at people we see on the street if we know them.

I did voke for animal welfare because it is the right thing, but I don't think you should automatically toss the banham on something for the soul reason that only a certain percentage of people decide to use something irresponsibly.
