after seeing a screen shot of a macroing program for ffxi, i looked up the name of the program that i had seen in that screenie, and ran across this website that had a couple different macroes. this one in particular specialized in fishbots. well, read for yourself. wont take them long to fix their fishbot issue.....http://www.aeries.botanybay.net/

Even if they manage to work up a botting program to work with the new system, the fatigue issue introduced with the update is going to hurt them. I hope the bastards stay out of business.

It frosts my taru butt that I've worked my tail off to level my fishing skill to pay for the things I need when I see these stupid bots pulling gil out of the water (bad) and knowing that money is going to morons who buy gil because they're too fucking lazy to do anything but cheat (worse).

I plan to enjoy a few more blissful weeks before the bots are back out in force.

i dont really think its smart to post links like this masterorion...

sure a lotta people know where to get bots... but the last thing u should do is post links to it...

posting a link to it is not going to make it any different. if someone wants a bot, all you have to do is use google and find em easy. i was posting little update entry there. fact being, the bots that are on there atm wont work anyhow becaus they are old

Fatigue has killed overnight AFK botting. The longest I can fish without my catch rate/weakening of fish speed going to basically nil in any money zone is 2 hours, 3 tops. With that added on to the fact that NPC prices are now half what they used to be, make it much, much less appealing to fishbot at all.

There have been fish bots out since 4-5 days after the patch. But the fatigue system doesn't make it much worthwhile I would imagine.

hehe.. it dun matter if I used a bot.. my computer seems to enjoy freezing the game anyways -_-

actually i know quite a bit about botting (i use to help program them in d2). Well, there is a way you can make the bot recognize certain colors, so that when there is a color ina specific spot, an action will occur. So say the bot recognizes the color of the fishing rod to the right, it will trigger the button to fatigue the fish to the left., and then after the bar turns grey, it will trigger the fish button. Anyways i don't know exactly how its done, but i just wanted to say it could be done if you were smart.

Thats not what FFXI Bots do I dont think... I think they use memory addresses to get rod position and get playerStatus.

They'd have to make one that recognizes different rod colors, and one that takes different positions of the rod in account regarding differencies in race. I've been too busy exping the last 3 weeks so have only fished for a few hours since the update. I for one would applaud someone that makes a working fishbot, because to me that seems like a very difficult task, and if you're smart enough to pull something like that off, kudos to you. Note however, I'd prefer if you stay a knucklehead and don't attempt it.

Even if fatigue is in effect, that is still 2-3 hours of "free" fish, say maybe 3 stacks of soles á 20k/stack... that's 60k without lifting a finger.

everything can be macroed..im sure. this is just a little setback that they will soon overcome. it just takes a little bit more work to get their bots to work again

Mm naw i dont think they can make a fish bot that works on the new fishing system =)

Sucessful fish botting to the new system is now complete. Now it's in the process of, quote Opie, "Being made more gooder." -_-

With this games interface being mainly ran by macros and not action toolbars, ala EQ and WoW, everything they(SE) throw up can and will most likely be able to be botted.

As for the new fatigue system. It means nothing. It's still based off chance and all someone has to do is set a time up to hit enter. It's really simple. They (SE) tried nicely though. I bet SE kicks themselves in the teeth everyday for making the most easily exploitable game in history. If they would just change the macro format to say an action bar format it may stop about 80% of it all if not more. However, that would take away from the game severly as the macro system is perfect for the gameplay.

I hate this as much as the next guy but it's going to be this way until the format of controls are changed. That is most likely to be...never.

funny shit

i was just browsing the forums and came upon this topic, a slightly comical one if you ask me.

i never concerned myself with fishing bots, i figured it dont really matter much, they dont effect me in anyway, i wonder to myself why people arent so out-spoken about people that bot-camp NM's and even use scripting programs to gain exp.

You wouldn't need to send packets. The bot could easily just respond to changes in memory on the clientside and it'd just be like sending "legit" packets
