Flameboard Rule interpretation

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Morwen the first one that Neolink was stalking? Wasn't she also just involved in an arguement where Jinxy got himself/herself banned for posting some address for her to come get beat up at? Now she is telling BBT, who from everything I've seen isn't exactly the most stable personality, that he and his brother should join their recently deceased parent? It looks like the mods disciplining her would probably be in her best interest since there seems to be a pattern of personal attacks both by and against her. I forgot though, almost everyone on the internet has a Superman complex and thinks they can get away with saying anything they want with no repercussions since they are safely behind a computer screen. Hopefully she'll learn her lesson before she runs across someone crazy enough to take it that far.

See now Jamal, that is an awesome argument right thur. Dunno if it is true, would love to see some relevant threads. -begins searching-

Since we're being so serious about the rules lately shouldn't Jamal get a temp ban or a full ban for shit constant flamebaiting when he doesn't get his way on the the forums?

Before you lock this, when should we see the results of this "re-evaluation" of the rules? And when it happens, will shit actually be done to offenders of the new rules? Or will this just repeat itself?

...there seems to be a pattern of personal attacks both by and against her.
Wait, this strikes me as "wtf"... "and against her"? Even true as this may be, what reason is there to punish someone for being attacked?

Isn't that technically why blazn was originally banned? Before he started going nuts and making 300 accounts?

Also to note...
Was this topic: http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?p=752382#post752382 moved to the flameboard so that people could deal personal insults?
It has nothing to do with the game. How can I be punished for threadcrapping yesterday when this type of shit happens everyday...

Forum related...ring a bell?

And I would have kept the post up. If it is as harsh as people say it is, then maybe they will look at that person and view them in a different light, which is far worst a punishment then a ban or a warning with a soft delete.

People have to realize, the flameboard is for flames. You flame stuff, you harrass others. If anyone is going to say that I'm wrong then they aren't reading it properly. :S

If it's that big of a deal, we can just take it away again. Frankly, I never wanted it back to begin with.

well the Good Times board already has new guidelines up. As always, people will interpret and refute the rules differently but I hope the rules posted allow us to act strictly on flamebaiting and now threadcrapping in the good times thread. You can also read the little bit about what kinda posts the Good Times board is all about, but really - I think the board name is self explanatory.

Neophytal has suggested he is revamping the General Guidelines. You can be looking forward to that. Hopefully it too will offer better support for action against flamebaiting - not sure if anything will be done about threadcrapping since threadcrapping is a vein of QCDN.

The discussion about the flameboard is in relation to this particular topic... but for the sake of annoyance, its probably just going to be forgotten and the thread remaining soft deleted (This is only me talking, no other mod - I don't know what is ultimately going to happen.) Once we get past this particular topic, the Flameboard rules will probably be updated and revised. We think the new guideline ideas that have already been suggested for the updated rule set will be well accepted by the community.

So yes, you will see the updated rules as they roll out.

I always thought you could say anything you wanted to anyone you wanted to say it to on the FB. Then the exception of racial slurs was added. Then the exception of posting personal info was added. Both reasonable exceptions.

Are we going to add an exception of "no telling people to die or making fun of their dead family members."?

It seems to be becoming less and less of a FB and more and more of a Burning Circle.

well I'll just say right now, that is probably not a concern to worry about trippy

I really don't think so, this happened once in a great while, it's not like people were throwing them around left and right like the racial slurs on a few flames. Most people know better than to not say stuff like that.

Theres something that's been confusing me. Did BBT die or did he have 2 brothers, one of which died and the other came here? Or am I on too much drugs?

The story he's been using recently is that he has a... second brother, half brother, something like that who died. I'm not really sure how the whole thing works, it's probably not very true either way.

Now it's official.

And this is threadcrapping and flamebaiting as well, something we're all guilty of. Thus why certain offenses need harsher penalties.

riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

I would agree with the OP if the info about his brother/mother/whatever was originally posted in RSI, but BBT posted it in the flameboard himself. By doing that, he is the one that brought that to the flameboard and made his personal life fair game.

If some shit that was posted in reality sinks in makes it to the flameboard, like this makes it to the flameboard, that's where you need to draw the line. He should be worned and there should be a rule against that.

agreed. truth be told, I wouldn't mind seeing the thread in question here. was it entirely removed, because that is the impression i'm getting.

Should there really? Say what you want on RSI, and nobody can say it elsewhere?

The point of having a "no personal information" rule is to prevent other people from sharing something about my real life, and to prevent things I don't want being shared about my real life, not to turn things into "HAY DON'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ME EVER, EVEN IF I SHARED IT WITH EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM ALREADY."

It's arguably forum-related anyway, since it's referencing her behavior on QCDN.
