to say they are better off out of the world is pretty messed up, you have no idea what was going on with that person, He was BI POLAR, My father and my brother are BI Polar, Im lucky to have recieved a mild case that is simply just random bouts of depression, i was the first person in my entire family medicated for it after my nearly successful suicide attempt. I did die, but my friend happened to come over at the moment i passed out and saved my life, It was an idiotic move and im no longer on the medication simply by choice, i have learned to overcome my depressions on my own as hard as it was to get to this point, But thats me. And i can say i know how it feels.
It takes alot to get you to the point where you just dont think you can stand another moment in the world.
And what do you always hear?
"He was always happy, i never imagined anything was wrong or why they would take their life it just doesnt make sense"
most of these people hide whats going on with them from their family and friends and pretend its all okay, had i not recovered i know my family would say the same thing because all the problems i had, were hidden from everyone but myself.
Because i simply assumed they wouldnt listen to me if i tried.
But thats also mostly people who have control over how they show it.
When you are bi polar, you are not in total control. My dad was the meanest, laziest most upsetting person i have ever known (until i got married), and i openly admitted to being jealous of my brothers and sisters because when he was diagnosed and medicated, he became the dad i never had to them and i was already moved out, he does things with my own kids he never did with me, But am i spiteful? Angry? Nope. Very forgiving, those days are gone and im not gonna dwell on them.
But when my dad forgets his medication, he is nothing but angry all the time over ANYTHING he can find to be angry about, simple things like dirty dishes cause a war.
When you are bi polar you only focus on the bad things and they make you more and more depressed, you can be fine one second, and a total wreck the next.
Its even practiced amongst most religions that if a bi polar person commits suicide, they will not generally be condemned to hell. I dont know the full specifics of why they believe that, but the medical reasons im sure have more than enough to do with it and how it puts them into that state of mind.
This kid had a very tough to deal with mental disease, maybe he took his life because he couldnt deal with it anymore, maybe he didnt take his meds like he was supposed to.
But bi-polar or not, people who claim those who commit suicide were a waste of space make me sick, ive lost friends to this crap because too much piles up on them and they think its the end of the world. Unless you know what that state of mind feels like, to actually be driven to that point, you will never understand it. You can never know what they were going through, and regardless of their actions there are plenty of people who would take their own life to have them back again.
Ive been there, i learned my lesson by seeing all the things i would have missed out on. I was lucky, damn lucky.
And i swore no matter how hard it gets i will never come to that point again, and trust me i have been through much worse since those days, But i always find a way to look on the bright side.
Some people are not so lucky to learn before they act or have that second chance.
But unless you know what its like, please dont speak on the behalf of someone whos life was of value to many others than your own.
Just because your looking through the window, doesnt mean youll be invited for supper.
