Foofighter

I'm all setup now. My 360 controller works fine, with the exception of the two trigger buttons, but I don't need them.

I'll try and find one of you guys online. I still don't have Abyssea though, and that is turning out to be a major pain.

Apparently, you used to be able to buy Abyssea through POL, but now they replaced all of POL's advanced features with a message that tells you to use your Square Enix account. (which doesn't offer expansions)

I ended up buying the FFXI Seekers ultimate edition through steam, but it's giving me some error when I try to retrieve my keys. I'm waiting on their support now.

What is the message you're getting? Something like: "You cannot add expanded services because either the maximum number of service accounts has been added/registered or there are no service accounts to which the expanded services can be added/registered."?

If that's what you're getting, make sure you didn't have two square accounts, and make sure that the software pack you got was for the US region.

Yeah, that's odd that the keys for the expansion's didn't load. I bought the last collection prior to the SoA pack and they pretty much went right in. But yeah, you'll need access to those areas to catch up for sure, not to mention level at any kind of respectable speed. I haven't been on in a few days, but I'll try and get on sometime this weekend. Check with Foofighter, he's usually on quite a bit later on. He can hook ya up.

Did it unlock the other add-ons for you (A Crystalline Prophecy, A Moogle Kupo d’Etat, and A Shantotto Ascension)?

Should have been: Squeenix Acct > Select Service > FFXI > Add Service Account > Enter Codes > Select Service > Options List > Scroll down to: Permanent Options list > and it should list all your keys entered.

I'm all set now. The problem was Steam doesn't provide keys upon purchase. They were there the next day though, so all is well now.

Audino hit me up early this week, so I've got a pearl now. I also finished the Abyssea quest, and unlocked the lvl 80 genkai.

Now I just need to find a group to exp with... It's not proving very easy to do so far.

Its good to see your still alive fearless leader (Orestes). I'm glad you, Foo, DD and company are still rocking that game. It was a lot of great memories. Personally I've fallen completely in love with FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. This game is almost 100%. In my opinion on August 27th you will see the FFXI community switch over in droves. This producer Yoshida really made a game that FFXI vets would call home again, and that is no easy task.

There are no traditional XP parties anymore. Look into grounds of valor and grounds tomes here:

Boyhada Tree Page 1 would be decent at your level.

It's not so much about xp/kill as it is about xp/page completion. With GoV, your rewards for each completion will go up.
You will want to consider using dancer as a sub for soloing.
If you really want to party, there are GoV page parties going on in BostOb. Don't be concerned with level gap, or 18 person parties as again it's about page completion, not xp/kill.
With you second job to 99, you can do Abby parties which are great, but with you having to stop and do Genkei every 5 levels te first time through....not so much

Hey Taku, it's good to hear from you. That's cool you're enjoying FFXIV. I tried out the beta this past weekend, but didn't get past the first mini-quest. If they keep it going, I'll have to check it out some more.

I've been doing worms in Abyssea La Thein the past couple nights. The first time, I got from 75-80, and the second I collected 25 merits, and unlocked lvl 85. The exp is fast, but I don't think I could really stay past 5 levels anyways.

I am looking to do some GoV in crawlers nest / or the citadel for my subjobs. I just hope there's actually people there to join up with.
