Just a short question. I picked up a pair of Nashira Seraweels last night.

Nashira Seraweels:
Divine Magic Skill +5
Enfeebling Magic Skill +5
Magic Accuracy +3
Haste +2%

And I currently use Igqira Lappa for enfeebling magic

Igqira Lappa:
Evasion +10
Enfeebling Magic Skill +10
Physical Damage: 'Curse' Effect On Opponent

As a blm, I'm just wondering if the +5 enfeebling magic skill and the +3 magic accuracy about evens out with the +10 enfeebling magic from lappas. I'm not interested in the evasion +10. I solo VT mobs. If they get close enough, they're going to hit me regardless.

Would it be noticable for me to use nashira instead?

Thanks in advance.

One Word: Macros

Nuke w serawheels. Bind/gravity/sleep w Lappas.

No thanks lol. Mahatma Slops & Sorcerer's Tonban. Lots of merits in elemental magic so I don't get resisted much.

I'm interested in enfeebling magic and how magic accuracy affects it (if at all, i really don't know).

huh?
I think you mean for rdms, blms should nuke with errant/mahatma or AF2 on correct day, unless you're talking about for like kirin, where I still nuke with errant/mahatma (AF2 I don't have ; ; ) really I can't think of anything that resist enough to need the magic acc for nukes.

Ah, I think Numa read my error. I originally said "As a blm, I'm just wondering if the +5 elemental magic skill blah blah blah" and just now corrected it to say "As a blm, I'm just wondering if the +5 enfeebling magic skill blah blah blah" in the original post. My bad.

The real question:

Is the difference between +5 enfeebling magic skill and +3 magic accuracy very negatively noticable compared to a straight +10 enfeebling magic skill?

Edit: Geez.. Found more errors. No wonder he said what he said. >.> Ok, my original post should be correct now...

guess it depends on what elemental potencey you have merit'd and adjust/test accordingly

not sure how much effect 2haste would have on bind/grav

6 elemental magic, 2 enfeebling

I'll test the pants out on "saving private ryaff" assault tonight. Was just hoping someone had a concrete answer. But oh well.

<<Based on zero testing

I'd stick with the higher enfeebling skill.

>>Just the kinda guy I am.

Thanks kyr and zeo. I'll test out the red pants on some wamoura princes this week and let you know if it's very noticable.

Just me, but I'd never toss aside a solid +10 enfeebling. That emergency bind or sleep could save your ass on a nice gravity resist, since gravity has such a great re-cast time. Of course I'm referring pretty much directly to solo/duo situations.

how did a blm get nashira pants anyways? >.>;; grats tho lol they are great pants, i enjoy mine (but as a rdm) :D

id take the enfeebling skill over the magic acc... but for rdm, these are the best pants hand down.

orly?

As an aside, is there any Ultima piece that is actually worthwhile for BLM to use? Is my Limbus fighting in vein? :D

Last I heard magic accuracy isn't even worth the space it takes to write down on the piece of gear it's that useless.

You already have the Nashira legs though so it's not like they're a waste or anything, just compare them with the lappas. My personal opinion would be to go with the Lappas, because the 5 points of enfeebling and 5 points of evasion will make a difference eventually, whether you notice it or not.

Well they are a waste because it's like getting a swift belt when you already have a speed belt. You just got an inferior piece of gear that's rare/ex. To someone else (a rdm) that would have been an elite piece of gear. As for the discussion Macc vs Skill, my understanding was that 1 Macc = 1 Divine/Dark/Enhancing/Enfeebling/Elemental/Ninjutsu/Summoning/etc.

Might as well respond to the OP too.

You can never go wrong with +10 Enfeebling. Being able to confidently stick Bind 95% of the time on mobs is great for soloing (/WHM all the way. Gravity is for lazy people :D)

My enfeeble set includes:
Wizard's Coat, Enfeebling Torque, Iqgira Tiara, Lappas, Pluto's Staff.

I believe this puts me around 260 ish skill, which is pretty decent for a non-RDM. Of course only you will be able to tell which piece is best for you through lots of testing. Given that the Seraweels isn't a very common piece, I'd look into it farther and see for yourself which one is better.
