Well, speaking as a user and not a mod, that's half the entertainment. There's very few... discussions... we can step into and flex the mod muscle. Those seem to be the only ones where he walks out the victor.

Yeah I know, insert <Fly defends BBT> comment here. I did say usually. I won't comment on whether or not my actions in that thread were what I would consider "correct" in CmdrFly's world, but under a moderator's hat it was justified to enough of a degree that I was comfortable doing it.

Since I've been green'd, which is... a matter of months, Reeve posted his stance on a couple things. Piracy and racism. Well, piracy for sure. I think racism was an addition to another thread, anyways...

Every mod brings something unique to the table of sustainability here. I see the possibility of losing QCDN due to racism so I put in my 2 bits to stop it where it poses an issue. Other mods may or may not agree with what I did, but I did it because I foresaw a potential issue. I don't want to see QCDN blow up because of something as stupid as that, nor do I want to see Reeve face possible legal issues when it could have easily been prevented.

You - and many others here - expect every mod to be the same robot following basic input/output commands. If we wanted that then Reeve or Nox could install a mindless module to ban spambots and delete posts where generic derogatory comments are used.

I don't expect nor want praise or support for my actions as a mod, ever. I do what I do to protect a site I enjoy using.

These discussions on my/our actions are sometimes constructive but usually it's just people saying "y'know, I'd do it different". Well... please do.

I've seen the thread of people who wanted to moderate when Reeve posted his announcement and I'm not baffled that most of the people complaining did not offer themselves up to take the responsibility. Four people, 4 people aside from myself and Neyla offered their time. None of them have ever complained about modship here for as long as I've been trolling. I think you all see the relation I'm pointing at.

I think that infraction from the Green to Meeze was a little stupid, irregardless.

You have to consider (and I know this is hard) that racial slurs usually have different meanings in society today. I remember when I was a green, I called Meeze out on a racial slur and I felt pretty bad about it once I realized the context.

Example:

Meeze’s use of the word “faggot” in his first post. He used it as a term meaning “stupid, lazy, retarded,” as in he was calling the mods those words. It wasn’t an insult to ones sexuality (because seriously, whoever insults someone soley based on their sexuality has the fucking mentality of a 12 year old), it was just calling you guys retarded/lazy/ect.

Neolink, however, when he called me out using the word “faggot” meant it as a derogatory term to belittle myself and, quite possibly, other gay members of the community. That’s wrong usage of the word.

I think Cmdr has it down pretty good though. I trust his judgment on things.

You are worse than Blazn at English at least with him there was one point in time you could understand him a slight amount. That's true with both of them, really, but much less so than Blazn. I think the fogging effect of time has decayed your memory of Blazn, somewhat. Bumble has difficulty attaining a satisfactory level of coherency in his posts, it's true, but at least 60%-70% of the time, Blazn/Kire was absolutely, POSITIVELY incomprehensible.



It's not that I disagree with your larger point ... particularly that of failing to "contribute" anything meaningful to threads. It's just that, the only Internet speech that I've ever seen that was MORE garbled than Blazn's nonsense comes from this woman, of Yahoo Answers fame: Taco_Bell Lady
