Friendly Rant

I agree almost entirely with Rinoah..however...I think Flash should be used. In the right situations, it's extremely useful...it helps NINs while they're recasting Utsusemi, and it means a miss or three for a PLD if you cast it about 10s after they cast theirs. With all respect, if you and/or the party is having hate-keeping issues, the spell should be avoided...but it certainly shouldn't never-be cast. =P

You're also forgetting one other useful point about flash.

Due to it's intense Accuracy decrease, it can cause very deadly enemy skills to miss(Kam'lanaut's Light Blade, for example)

I didn't read the 2nd or 3rd pages (I hate being late to a topic), so if these points have been covered then ignore me and move on.

And you know what's really awesome? Is every Ninja and Thief I partied with up until then, did way less damage than me.
1. Never start a sentence with "and".
2. You may have outdmg'd them on a hit-by-hit basis, but the parser sees all...

Dual Wield doesn't give you double TP, people. Your weapon intervals are highly increased.
Dual Wield 1 gives a 10% delay in attack speed (proven). Dual Wield II gives 15% delay in attack speed. These mean faster swings, which means more TP (albeit, it is rather miniscule).

I know you're all thinking "BLM/NIN sucks", but if you think about it, extra INT from Dual Wield, shadows for incase you overnuke, mob debuffs to certain spells. The list goes on.
I'd still recommend /whm; you'll get Stoneskin and Blink to cover your overnukes, INT & MND bonusses, -na status removal spells, and backup curing in case of emergency (Divine Seal » Curaga II is also a great way to med everyone between pulls).

Or Summoners used as main healers. Let the SMN do their job, don't make them heal just because they have 2x the MP as a normal healer.
I'll agree with you on this, it hurts me to see a SMN main healing when they can do so much more. I feel like a complete ass for making Bajaratt do this for our subjob static, but he agreed to it so I don't feel as guilty.

SMN Main healing with a Ninja tank is great, I mean what the hell else you going to do between that bloodpact timer?

...and then of course there's Sabia, who refused to join my party unless I would let her main heal as SMN.

Granted, with a NIN tank it'd be more acceptable since they can manage both duties fairly easily. But we have a WAR/MNK tank - not exactly soft on the damage taken (but making up for it in hate holdage).

Yeah...I'm even iffy with a PLD tank. But seriously, with a RDM for haste/debuffs and me as a main healer I can bring more to the party than a whm could in that role. I'm sure when SMNs hit 70 it's a completely different story but why not fill 2 roles, buffer and healer and leave one extra slot for another DD? Exp comes rolling in faster and frankly I know I'm more than capable of keeping a pt with a NIN tank alive plus playing my summoner role once a minute, why not main heal?

As long as I get to summon and do my bloodpacts once a minute I don't see why it's such a big deal for summoners to throw out a few Cure IIs/IIIs and a poisona every now and then. I like bringing more to a pt

I have actually Xp'd and read a book at the same time on WHM lol...no one died but we had some close calls :P

I think the PLD made a new macro "<call1> Put the damn book down and heal!"

Stop provin me wrong, hippy! Now I'm almost ready to accept smn's main healing without guilt.

summoner being main healer is not a bad thing, especially at lower levels when really there isn't much a smn can do, but at mid level the summoner lacks a few good spells which are very usefull that a whm main will have, such as Raise. Also, whm will get the better curative spells earlier ensuring an easier time in the pt.

But, i'm open to anything, hell, i've had a PLD try to main heal for a while while waiting for the whm to get there

Hehe, okay, I guess Summoners can do some healing and everything. Who else here loves power leveling? Anyone? :) It's my hobby. :D
Even though lots of people still say P'Lving is a bad thing. >.>

You're the reason people still can't play their jobs at level 60

Nahh, I only power level people who already know their jobs, if they don't then I don't power level, but I teach them how. I'm not that stupid, people. lol.

I had a 66pld ask what Provoke does. I think he was kidding, but it was Majorhavoc so...

Did I step in at just the right time, or has this thread been going nowhere for a while?

lol, I'm kinda glad it's going off topic. My rant was 100% things I knew people would disagree on, and it seems like half of those who disagree are doing it in a serious fashion. Maybe next time, my friendly rant should be about un-rantful things that EVERYBODY agrees on anyway?
o.O

Whats the point in ranting about stuff people agree on? So someone can call you master of the obvious?

That's my point, Rinoah. Don't get mad at me or call me noob just because I said something that few people agree on. Now you didn't, but it's happened before. Especially within the first two pages of replies.
