Fuck my parents

It wasn't sanctioned by the school. Its a group of seniors who wanted to be in a hotel together. As for me having intimate occurances, i'm in a room with 3 of my friends. there is no way im gonna be in a room alone, thats just asking for something. I'm not a fucking naive person. I won't be in a room with my date, i won't even be near my date, as they have to go home, and i'll be with 4 friends in my room. My sister just had a baby, i know what she is going through, i dont' want it. I see what she is going threw and to be independent i don't need that one bit.

As for your comments about doing something cause others do it:

I've never smoked, not once, and have only experimented w/ drinking.

I do'nt care what other people do. Im an independent. I don't do what is "cool" or what other people do just beacause they have done it.

It sounds like you just might have a good head on your shoulders

My question to you is have you given your parents reason to not trust you? Did one of your siblings give them reason to not trust...even if you've been a great kid if one of your siblings has done something...it will be hard for them not to assume that you MIGHT do the same. I can't honestly say what I'd do...I do preach to my kids about honesty...and how important trust is. Once you lose someone's trust it's nearly impossible to ever 100% recover it. Also if your parents have any reason to think your friends might not be the best influence...that may give them cause to hesitate.

unfotunately ive made a bad decision in the past. I was having some friends over and it got a bit outta control(. I fucking hate myself for it and i was lamenting over my decision for weeks. I know that the aprents will never truly get over this and trust is lost forever, but i do what i can to regain it (by not doing anything stupid again)

and as for my siblings. Unfortunately both of my sisters smoked quite often, both sisters drank, and they also made a bad decision by having a party.

Thanks for the compliment Kiere.

I have a question for the parents or older crowd out there.

Do you think my parents should let me go to a hotel after prom? My mom seems to think it a bad idea ><. She says something intimate could happen between me and my date or someone else. Every other person i know is going to the damn hotel and they won't let me.

1 simple word.... "NO"

If you had a daughter and she was a teen going to the prom would you let her go to some strange hotel room with some guy or guys you know is more interested in something else then being a true freind to your daughter?

If he was a true friend why the hotel room? Anyway even if you are going with 4 girls, things can happen. I prob would want my daugther to wait for the "right time" then simply happening to some guy she took to the prom.

there is going to be at least 20 people at the hotel, its not going to happen to me. I could understand if it was like me, 3 friends, and our dates going to the hotel, but as i've said earlier at least 20 people are going.

I actually would let her go to the hotel for prom, but thats just me.

That is the most underrated, if you will, saying there is. My friend said the same thing about falling off a boat/cruise we were to be going on for our senior trip to cancun a few years back. Guess what? He fell off cause he was drunk as hell, luckily enough for him I didn't drink very much that night and jumped in that water faster than all hell. If you think for one second that something can't happen to you, think again. You will become less cautious, and ultimately, things WILL happen to you when you least expect it.

I'm so scared that everything will happen to me that i won't let it happen to me? Is that what you wanted to hear? Well i won't let it happen to me, and i won't put myself in the situation where it could happen to me. I just want to go out after prom and have a good time at a hotel w/ my intoxicated friends (and i will not be intoxicated).

Ok i'm just coming into this conversation but...

Not putting yourself into a situation where something bad could happen isn't just staying close to friends. Here's a list of things your parents could probably dream up in vivid detail on their way to work. It's a wonder they don't lock you in your room.

I will do you a favor and only list the things that could reasonably happen though

1) Cops bust all the underage drinkers at party and you get arrested as well
2) Cops don't bust the party...
3) The drunk friends you're hanging out with offer you no protection or help from you being date raped either because they are a) incapable seeing as they're drunk or b) off being raped as well
4) Someone who is at the party starts a fire by being a teenage dumbass with a cigarrete/lighter/firecracker/anything. The ensuing drunken rush for exits leaves you either trampled or burned to death.
5) Someone other than your date rapes you
6) (This happened after my senior prom) A drunk classmate runs you over in the parking lot.
7) The fact that you think none of this could happen to you only makes them more scared

now I only skimmed the topic but that's at least something to think about

Also if the whole ffxi thing makes you want to move out you're crazy O.o

You are way to worried...even more worried than my parents. I can only imagine some of those things possibly happening, but the chance of them happening are so remote that i do'nt even wanna bother. I know you may think im an ignorant teen who just doesn't see the possibilities, but i do and those are absurb, in my opinion.

And im not wanting to move out because of the ffxi thing, i wanted to move because of their failure to recognize my accomplishments. No once did they say o yes you have improved, here you can haev this back in moderation. They just said you still aren't good enough.

Yes it is sad when parents do this. Truthfully though? You arn't.

Saying your good enough is like telling yourself to stop. Every parent is different, some say your "good enough" some want you to be "better". Even though constantly trying to be better is HARD. Wouldn't you rather be better anyway?

I think your just trying to see when your parents will LAY OFF. But unfortunatly life don't lay off :( , It keeps coming at you and you have to keep up with it.

Yah in some ways i am waiting for my parents to lay off, and i know they won't. BUT, i do want them to lay off about certain things and i think they should. Such as my grades. I am trying to improve them and be better, yet they don't lay off about me not trying hard enough.

As for good enough. Lol, umm, yah your right =X. haha.

If you heard the absolutely vulgar fucking shit that boys and men talk about in locker rooms or without ladies present you would realize that these things are not absurd.

One thing I've encountered with parents is that if you have a plan to deal with plausible situations they will begrudgingly let you go do what you want.

Parents do come up with insane scenarios a lot of the time, but if you counter the reasonable ones with a reasonable plan of action should they happen then there really is nothing holding you back. The same way they know you will look both ways before crossing the street is the reassurance they need in situations like these.

Although I'd still say no to a hotel party :D

Were only speaking to you from experience Krisy. It's not that your parents don't recognize your accomplishments, it's the fact that if they paddly pat you on the back for everything, then you'll start slacking, and from a parents point of view, thats the worst thing that could happen. They are only trying to make you try harder and become better.

Trust me I know, I used to play baseball all my life, never once did my father EVER pat me on the back for some of my biggest accomplishments. Never after my first Homerun, my first 7 inning shutout. Instead he literally pointed out all the WRONG things I did, and I hated him for it. Now that I'm a bit older and more mature, I can see where he was coming from. Well, honestly he wanted me to follow in my older brothers footsteps. My brother had a chance to go to the bigs but you know what he did? There was a big tournament coming up, at Dr. Phillips High School in Florida. There were to be many pro/college scouts attending this tournament mostly to watch 3 people, 2 of which are pretty big stars today. One of them being Johnny Damon, A.J. Perzinsky, and my brother. Well it was around spring break and school was out, so my brother skipped this tourney to head to daytona and hang out with his friends, needless to say his chances at the bigs/college were over.

A few years later he ended up in the marines, and unfortunatly was dishonorably discharged for selling LSD in daytona, with the same friends he skipped the tournament with. Moral of the story, stick it out with your parents, there only trying to help. It makes life a whole lot less stressful if you get along with them and do what they tell you.

When you move out into the real world, you'll wish you could of leeched off your parents a little longer, trust me.

Please don't think that it is in any way a good Idea...... I am 30 now  yea , yea.

when I "lived" with my parents , they cared very little about what me or my brother did. I went to the post party hotel party! (hell I didn't even have to ask) I also have done many other incredibly stupid things during those years.... Many of them were really 'fun' and 'exciting' at the time , still bring me shame now, I would hope my kids never find out about them.

I will be preaching , teaching and nagging them only because I really have been there and seen a lot. I know they'll think I'm a Nazi , Dork, geezer, etc..... but in the end I still know better.

Go ahead and hate your parents , most expect it and are prepared to handle it.

PLEASE DONT GO TO THE HOTEL PARTY! ......let your friends call you what they will, in the end you'll be better for it , I promise ^^
