Everything is 50%, but of course they weren't selling the REALLY new games, like I couldn't snag Gears 2. I did however get Tales of Vesperia for $30, the 360 version of Bully for $15(giving to a friend for Christmas), Saints Row 2 for $30, and some Blu-rays for a little cheaper than usual. They're outrageously priced in the first place, so with only half off, Amazon is still competitive on blu-rays, but I grabbed an actual blu-ray porno that my friend and his girlfriend had been joking they wanted for Christmas, for only $13.

It's worth a look, specially if you want some last minute gifts. Either way, they're a shitty store that sells stuff for outrageous prices and get what they deserved.

I'm assuming this is national, because it's for the 3 FYE's in Danbury I know of, but I mean it's possible those 3 specifically are going out of business I guess?

Lol, it was funny, FYE has like a little half porn aisle, but the store was SO packed and nobody was going near it. You just know they're never going to sell because people don't want to peruse porn in a crowded store. This disc happened to be in the blu-ray section so I just grabbed it and stuck it between a couple other movies.(The store was full of kids too.)

Whoa wait a minute. @_@ FYE is going out of business completely or only the stores in Danbury? My friend works up in the Torrington store and he hasn't mentioned anything about the company going under. I'm hoping it's just the Danbury ones because I get the friend discount there and it makes me happy. <_<;

I don't think it's the entire chain. The FYE at my mall seems to be doing fine, which makes me happy. I buy most of my DVDs there, since used discs are dirt cheap.

It's not the entire chain. I checked with my mall's FYE store today. They said they weren't going out of buisness. Some stores are being closed but not all stores. *sigh* I was really hoping I could load up on their anime selection for 50% off.. then they would finally be affordable. Overpriced bastards.

Oooh, I'm about 25 minutes from Danbury. Thanks for the heads up!

The FYE in Trumbull seems to be doing fine, although I know my parents went to Danbury for that 50% off sale. I will agree that FYE is insane and the arcade here needs to be lit on fire, but I do love the used DVD bins.

I also checked the one in my mall, no luck.

Which part? Their used DVDs have always been cheap.

just "cheap" and "FYE" going together :P they are overpriced asshats, it's no wonder a ton are going outta business.

I agree. These are the F'in idiots that are selling Hancock on Bluray for $40... Wtf. They have Blurays in the $50 range even... I will not shed a tear for FYE.

Guys guys.. FYE is not going out of business ...unfortunately. Are they overpriced assholes, yes. Though unfortunate as it may be, they are only closing some of their stores. Maybe, just maybe in time they may eventually close all stores and go completely out of business. *prays* But for now, it's just some stores for those people fortunate enough to have those closing stores in their location. To those people, I say, Fuck you, you lucky ass bastards! Mine isn't closing so they're still ridiculously over-priced. *sigh*

I don't get why this is even a concern. Instead of complaining about their prices, how about just shopping at a different store, likely within 100 yards of the FYE. I mean, unless you live in some backwoods remote are and it's the only electronic entertainment retailer within a 5 mile radius, then maybe you've got something to whine about.

I live in a high population city in connecticut and FYE is our only music/movie store... For games we have gamestop.

We had Tower Records but they left a couple years back and FYE moved into our mall in place of Sam Goody.

Now... The next city over is about half my cities population yet they have a Circuit City and Best Buy... We just take the drive to them lol.

For me, FYE is pretty much the second only place in my town that sells a wide selection of anime. And I really do enjoy being able to find anime locally. Aside from FYE, the only other place to buy as wide a selection of music, movies, anime and games is Best Buy which is by far the #1 place in my area to get stuff. The main reason, they're totally cheaper than FYE (as in they have fairly normal prices). I used to buy from FYE all the time since they were pretty much the only place to buy stuff until Best Buy arrived. Before Best Buy showed up it was FYE and GameStop that I shopped at, but then GameStop stopped selling anime altogether, which left me with only one local option for a while.

I still go to FYE even today since sometimes if I can't find what I'm looking for at Best Buy, FYE might have it... for $5-$10 to $20 more. Sometimes FYE has obscure anime's I've never heard of that BB just doesn't carry, and FYE's anime section (nearly half a wall full, a big long wall) totally trumps Best Buys limited (but not small) area of anime dvds.

So yeah, It is a concern to me and I sure as hell can complain when it comes to my hobby of watching anime. As far as music and movies go, I don't know why anyone would want to shop at FYE for those things. You can find those in Wal-Marts, K-Marts, Targets, and Best Buys everywhere. Anime on the other hand is a bit harder to locate.

Theres this magical place where you can buy virtually anything at low prices. It's called the internet.

Well in my area there's Best Buy, Circuit City and FYE. FYE is by far the most expensive, and yeah, even with 50% off, the deals weren't amazing. What's annoying is that it's the only store in the Danbury Fair mall I'd even go into. They have(had) 2 FYEs, 2 gamestops and 100 clothing stores. It's pretty horrible. There's Target and Walmart a little further away, but I don't really go into Walmart anymore, because I just hate it, so there's Target and I enjoy there. Besides that it's amazon.com where I buy most of my new stuff. It's annoying to me to have to wait a few days to pick something up unless I want to pay out the ass.
