G5 - The fight against Maat!

Hello All,

I was reading some info on G4 recently and took a glance at the G5 for Paladin.

*Reading... :shock: reading some more :shock:.... :shock: :!: :!: :!: .....:cry:* Do I need to say more?!?!?!

Well, I only have one question atm as I'm 61PLD/30WAR. I’m assuming that I need to trade Maat a <Paladin Testimony> to enter the battle zone. With that said, What happens when he defeats me? do I need to get another <Paladin testimony>? If so......

preparation is key to Maat battles (from what I've seen) involving much equipment, food, potions, etc.

Usually most people I have talked to said it was a breeze....I don't know much about PLD though ; ;
 
PLD is one of the toughest of them.

Yeah if you use your testimony its like a BCNM orb, its broken and you need another.

Which is very anoying.

You need lots of potions, icarus wing, special gear setup and LUCK. If your not lucky mr. mat might Asuran Fist you and well... Your kinda screwed at that point...

I was lucky and managed to kill him on my 4th try. Probably costs about 30k in potions each attempt :x
 
Seriously, I think SE should re-evaluate the entire game at times... those drops aren't easy to come by, granted I already have one. But what good is to me if I'll lose it when I die!!! What happen to the times when your about to die during a monster fight in console games and you HIT THE POWER BUTTON!!! ~ /sigh... those were the good ol'days.

I ask myself why I, why did I take Paladin.... AF was a pain and now this.... I might just lvl up another job, DRG, just to complete G5.
 
outta boredom i challenged him at level 69. I got my blm testimony since i was level 40something.
only thing i used was 1 melon pie (costed 600g for one on the AH).
With good luck i managed to beat him.....
 
wait until you reach Lv.70 before deciding to fight maat. @70 you will have protect IV and some Lv.70 equipment that will be of some value if you can afford it, i.e. rosenbogen bow & company sword (or espadon). if you haven't done it already, go and try to complete all of the gobbiebag quests because you'll need all the space.

it IS easy. i beat maat at Lv.70 once, but lost to him twice as a Lv.69, and i don't know if that's because i already had experience with him or the fact of being a Lv.70 was a big factor with the tiny bit more of hp&mp from 1 level difference, [i don't know.]
