GA Only! kthxbai....

1st off you use a fortitude axe which a lot of war do not have unless the have sea

1) Sea isn't hard to get.
2) You could probably ask a well established Jailer shell if you can have a Fort. Axe.

I was hooked up with a Temp. through #2, since the shell that helped me didn't have anyone left to lot on it.

Davion, just incase you were confused, Dark was posting this in response to your question. Fly has been doing strict war comparisons, while I've been comparing WAR to other jobs post update.
On the ticket for testing in the near future:
WAR/SAM vs. WAR/DRG (Fly)
Ridillberk WAR Vs. Supersamurai vs. WAR/SAM vs. Thegreatgalkameeze after the supposed 'fixes'. (me)
Blackbelt MNK vs. WAR/SAM vs. 2-hand DRK vs. Fort. Axe WAR after supposed fixes. (me)

Both of my comparisons have been done once after the big boost 2-handers got, we'll compare results to those obtained after the fix.

This could be a good idea, but slashing weapons would still get the bottom of the barrel unless there were actually camps full of hounds and doomed, or something.

Blunt and Piercing have the upper hand, still. I also dont know of any people that actually take advantage of a mobs weapon weakness purposely. I remember telling DRG's that they do 25% more damage to Colibri/birds than anyone else because theyre weak against piercing, and theyre like "oh I didnt know that."
Well, some levels would have to change, mob placement, some general rebalance of merit camps, but it's definitely doable, especially if the weapon weakness is increased.

I have something of a math learning disability, so the raw parse results tend to make my head spin. (Also didn't want to derail the parse results in End-Game Discussions.) Just to confirm, the parse put SAM and GA WAR on top above dual-axe and Ridillberk WARs?

As a comparison, pre-update I had never lost a parse by more than 1% as Juggernaut/Ridill.

Phraust as SAM/WAR beat me by 7%, so this is by far my biggest loss in 3 years in a parse. It was a decisive victory, and there was no reason that I lost other than the fact that SAM/WAR was just head and shoulders better than me.

2nd party, Crosis was MNK/NIN, with all the pleasantries. Mistra used WAR/SAM and again won by a vast margin.

SAM/WAR and WAR/SAM are both head and shoulders above damage wise. WAR/NIN (still using GA) and SAM/NIN (Still using GK) will still put up insane numbers, but will also serve as a more fluid party.

Bone camps arent that bad, and are ideal for pld and/or whm parties. Do not many people know that Banish raises the reduced damage from undead?? Ive yet to see a WHM or PLD actually cast banish on undead while were fighting them, most likely because they dont know

It's Known, But the cost of the spell is too high for the effect, which doesn't last very long, and gives no indication to when it fades/lands. Most of the time you can't even tell the difference, but you can tell the difference in the cure you missed.

Yeah, Skeletons and Ghosts just aren't Utsusemi friendly. So a WHM will actually need to do their job instead of endlessly leech exp.

I feel like i'm watching the sports network talk about boxing

People have always expected drks to have both g.swd and scythe ready to go at all levels. Rangers usually(?) have archery and marksmanship both ready to go. Some sams have g.kt and archery both available (and sometimes polearm but that's lol). Wars have always ridden rampage's ass like it's the neighborhood whore, now they too finally are expected to have more than one weapon skilled up, deal. Though honestly, are self-respecting war would've had it skilled or at least worked on it during their freetime anyway.

I've been trying to raise Gax. ;~;

What annoys me though is how axe is completely inferior to GAx now. Juggernaut is now basically a complete waste of gil to anyone who has/had one. =\

It still is better than anything else out there, and I'll use it.

What if...
People didn't look for a congratulatory pat on the back when there A+ weapon is 180 combat skill lvls below the current cap...

Agree with Meeze and Baj, an IQ test would help so much, cut off all chat lines prior to entering the arena, and have to answer questions...maybe even have to spell 3 words correctly in a row in order to reserve a right to retake the test...

This was before any releases of the 2-hand update...If you would like me to predict anything, please let me know.

Not really an expert on the whole dual wield axes vs the GA situation since the update. I only dinged 75 WAR yesterday, and I have prefered to play with axes. It's might be a little stupid, but I get bored with the delay between swings using a GA. So I dual wield to keep myself amused. (It's why I prefer my THF it's like "Pow pow pow, run around here, then pow pow pow all over again.)

Anyway....

Since the update I keep running across people who invite you to join party, only to then kick/change their mind/"forget" they sent you a tell because I don't use a GA. Lol about 10 minutes ago I get an tell from a party leader asking if I used GA or dual wield. I say I prefer to dual wield, only get "Oh nvm"

Amazhoweveritends, and everyone else out there adopting the GA ONLY WAR can KISS MY ASS. Yes it may do a little more damage, but I already pull enough hate in a party, I don't want to pull even more. I like to stay alive, and not be bored stupid. And you know, it's not like axe/axe wars are suddenly gimped in the amount of damage they do.........
this post is funning coming from someone who's character is equipped with a GA in their sig.

nevermind thought OP was complaining about being booted for not having level GA

to the OP:

the party you were being invited into was a SAM SAM WAR open BRD RDM party. The melee got 90% accuracy in that party vs colibri. let me make this clear to you.
I did not go asking you to exp so that I would have to use madrigal to allow you to become a "decent" dd at the expense of the rest of those already there. there were 20-30 other people seeking I could have asked but instead I asked you so that I would have a second voker(with shadows). guess what? 1 traditional utsu-first-voker would have worked fine and I could have grabbed any other job instead. You do not solely exist to vokebot anything I sleep. you have to present yourself as a DD that can outdo what else is seeking at the table. Getting a party is a competition of whocan bring the most to the table to help the party as an entity.

Not having what it is now commonly known to be a superiour weapon means that any other person you there could have been chosen over you and guess what? I did choose someone else. I coulda chosen a thf since i know I outdamage war/nin(dual axes) vs colibri easily on a regular basis(every time i wasnt on ps2 so that i could check) but somehow seeing other thf meriting in bucccaneer's knife doesnt inspire me with confidence in them.

You amused me quite a bit when you actually started to flame over it. What's next? If you were to get a ridill you would flame somone that refuses to invite you with 20 sword skill to a mamool merit pt? stop fucking seeking and skillup the weapon you KNOW your parties want you to use.

I didnt send you a /tell so that you could swing axes and that's all there is to it. GET OVER YOURSELF. you arent on the top of the lsit for party invites? deal with it. Every DD that wasnt a nin war or mnk has had to deal with it for years.

You want to cry about no invites for being a gimp? I think pup is the right job for you.

My Great Axe was capped at 30. From 30-37 everyone wanted me to use 2 1h axes so I did. Tonight it took me 1hr to get 5 levels of Axe skill I was pissed. Still I wont seek on WAR till it's done as on T's I was putting out very nice dmg with my skill about 12 under cap.

When is BST gonna be a decent DD? Need a year. Hell, within the decade will make me happy. =P

GAx is pretty fun but I don't wanna touch it until I can get Perdu. Just wish I hadn't burnt 20k IS on a Staff Sling first, ugh.

Next thing you know people will start hating dual wield war's and banish them to a corner of Mount Zhylom where they'll have to fight and scrap over 11 spawns with 500 other wars. Wait...

6 pages on my first whinge! WOOT! Seriously though, it was late, I was frustrated and just wanting to vent in a very public kind of way, like the drama queen I like to pretend I'm not.

It's been, what, 2 weeks since the update? And until then axe/axe was considered the superior weapon of choice for war. But now, I'm gimp for going axe/axe? This really wasn't ever about flaming you personally either, in fact Khajit, you didn't even get a mention in the OP. I was having a cry over the fact that since the update invites went from 2-3 parties a day to being turned down because GA is kick ass now (at least until SE 'fix' it), and what turned out to be your tell, was the breaking point in my frustration.

I don't get what your saying in the 1st paragraph about being there solely as a voke bot...... You wouldn't of had to use madrigal to allow me to be a 'decent' DD, I had no probs connecting with G.Colibri @ 70-72, why would I suddenly be below-par now? Do you really think that since the update war is suddenly a second rate DD class unless they use a GA?

Anyway, like I said, I'm new to 75WAR, and gave up GA early for two reason, until 2 weeks ago everyone wanted axe/axe wars, and I don't like the delay. Yes, I skillup GA while I seek (@136 now ), and no, I don't really intend to use GA in an xp situation until I have capped it with a few merits, and have a sam sub to back it up. At the end of the day I'm happy being an wood/man war. If that makes me mediocre so be it.

AAANNNNDDD..... To everyone that pointed it out, yes, I have a great axe in my siggy. I think they look awesome! I just wish the delay wasn't so damn long on them. Siggy is new, and the first one I've made, glad it's been noticed :bb:

To be fair it was a pain in the ass to cap Great Axe, and even though any decent Warrior should have been working on capping Great Axe, it really is a bit absurd to expect everyone to auto-magically have it capped especially considering it wasn't even really even considered worthwhile unless you did any endgame up until the last update.

And before anyone points it out, my Great Axe is capped. I constantly stopped leveling it to keep it capped. Hence one of the many reasons it took me since 2003 until a few months ago to hit 75.

Constantly stopped leveling Warrior to keep Great Axe capped*

Sorry for being vague.
