Gaha! Demon Wall of doom die! XD

Iron Carapace can be obtained from the Horse-type mobs.. Named "Sliepnir" in Giza Plains/Westersand. I'm not sure these ones can drop it... the ones in Osmone Plain can definitely drop them though.

Aha, I can poach it from the Sliepnirs as well, I need a good way to poach though >>, maybe use Bleed to get the mobs in critical hp so I don't kill em?
 
Try equipping weak/no weapons, maybe?

With a gambit that says Mob HP >10% -> attack, followed by one Mob Status: Critical HP -> Poach.

That should work.

If you're too strong to be able to not one-hit them, no matter what weapon you use, try weak nukes or Poison/Bleed could work too.
 
Sounds good, thanks, now I just need to poach 3 of them >> let's hope the poach rate doesn't suck lol, but it beats that damn Aeriel, plus you get a golden helm and shield too, to bad it isn't repeatable though
 
Aye. Bone Mail might be a better option. I forget which is stronger, Bone or Golden. Anyways, I gotta get to class. Best of luck to you Tiael.

Now back to Demon wall, aye they suck, especially those bastards in FFIV...grr
 
Iron Caraprace is dropped by all the armored horse things. Got them in Giza and Ozmone... and the Zaritain Caverns(?), where that Esper is in Ozmone Plains. They are the ones that teleport and nuke with Water and Blizzara.

The ones that teleport/cast are not the same mob, and do not drop Iron Carapace. They instead drop "Grimoire Aidhed"s.
 
I just beat the demon wall (2nd one I will be trying the 1st after a couple more levels) and went out and saved my game. Next I think i'm fighting my first esper? Was he easy? Any tips that you can recommend? Is he easier or harder then that 1st Demon wall?

Well poaching didn't go so hot...25 storm stones and 18 moltings later, 0 iron carapaces >> and currently 0/15 on Wild saurian for today on any bone armor drop blarg
 
Yea I pretty much gave up on bone armor...after oh say 50 wild saurians..and not a drop, I give up, I'll just wait til I can buy it(hopefully) lol, and don't get me started on poaching sliepnirs >> Ah wells, looks like I will have to advance the story soon ;o

I got bone armor without trying to ;x I had already bought 2 for my tanks so I'll have to get a 3rd person the license for it >.>
 
Bumping this with a question.

I just beat both demon walls and have tried getting the Demonsbane. I've fully zoned out(to the Sandsea) and back again about 15 times and have only got Holy Motes. I've also just reset after not getting it aswell. WTF AM I DOING WRONG!?

mega bad luck? like me :P the chest isn't even spawning here now x.x
 
just try saving your game outside and restarting that resets the spawns
 
*Where* is the chest that has the demonsbane in it? I can't find it for the life of me, tried reloading the file, zoning/rezoning, etc, can't find it. :(

You know when you beat the first Demon wall how it showed a little cutscene that made the surrounding platforms staircases? Take one of those side paths and follow it all the way down. The chest is at the center of where the two path's meet. You will fight bats, and candle's on your way to it. Careful, because the candles will give your characters oil status, and attack you with fire, can be a pain because they'll effectively swarm you.

I took that path, went down all the stairs (off map, btw), and found a chest in the middle, and only gave me 168 gil, or something. :(
 
That's the right chest, can be gil, the holy mote, Demonsbane, or not even be there at all, it's just random, keep trying ;P
