ppl say that gamecube is the worst and i agree but still im hearing that theres a new zelda game coming out for it and as for me in kind of a zelda fan :P so......../dance

Well i have to say being able to hook up with GBA is a nice feature, i use it alot. Not to may games though, I love Harvest Moon AWL, and NightFire but other then that i would say its lacking in the game department.

Ya know, its not that the Gamecube is the worst of the systems, it really is that it has a different style of games. I personally love my gamecube and play alot of stuff on it, RE4, FFCC, hehe the Mega Man collecton (which is out on other systems, but come on nintendo man).

The new Zelda looks badass and a half, a return to the sleekness of Ocarina of time only with beefier graphics. Im excited.

Nintendo just prefers to find its nitch in younger audiences, sure there is some exceptions, the RE series bein a big exception, but for the most part Gamecube and nintendo concentrate on younger audiences, a fact that keeps them popular with parents and therefore still in business.

PS: The new system is gonna let ya downlod classic Nintendo and snes games!!!!! Fargin sweet yo!!!!!

Yes, nintendo has gotten a reputation among xbox players as a kiddie system, since they don't need to have tons of M-rated games on their console to make it sell. It's not only younger audiences that enjoy the games, I know plenty of 20-25 people that play on it, even with a PS2 or xbox available. The games are solid, they're just also available for kids to play.

Gamecube is actually the most advanced system out there right now... XD but ya.. their games don't attract me too much.. but damn.. that new Zelda game is hawt

Nintendo has lost all their good third party support.

I <3 my Gamecube.

I love the Mario Parties, Eternal Darkness and the Zeldas....and the wireless controllers are the perfect size <3

I love all three console systems. Xbox is my favorite, but I do not believe that Gamecube is a "kiddy system." I said this awhile ago but (in agreement with Bajaratt), a system doesn't need violent or scary games to be #1.

In my opinion, it is the quality of games that make one system the best. Unfortunately; with the lack of third party support, Nintendo is struggling with Gamecube. Gamecube ultimately needs to rely on Nintendo's own hits, as opposed to Xbox with Halo and PS/PS2 with FF, etc. That doesn't mean that Gamecube is a "bad" console. It has plenty of fun and interactive games that were a life saver back when I was LFP....

I am a Gamecube fan. I do like some of the games like Fire Emblem 1 and 2 for gba and i here really good things about the new Zelda game and Link and turn into a wolf or something like that.

Not to be an ass but, Nintendo lacks violent and scary games and it is so far behind PS2 and X-Box it is kind of sad. That kinda shoots the theory to hell.

I plan on getting a nintendo JUST for the cool new Zelda games, not the pansy windwaker one.

So hold on. You're a Gamecube fan because of games on the GBA? I'm confused.

This is precisely why as several people have said, that you don't NEED those violent games to have a successful console. You can keep silent hill and Resident Evil, I'll take Mario Kart anyday. The only reason I didn't like wind waker is because I freakin' hate cell shading.

Also, gamecube is only behind in America, in the rest of the world, the xbox is getting stomped. I've read a survery that showed that the Dreamcast(a discontinued system) was outselling the xbox in japan. Plus, nintendo owns the hand held market. Even with the PSP out, Nintendo sells more units(GBA and DS) than anyone else.

X-box's real weakeness has been its utter lack of RPGs which are a HUGE deal in japan. All of the RPGs in the USA are imported from Japan, I can not think of a notable RPG other then Kotor or Jade empire (same company) that was developed in America.

In the System wars Nintendo is so far behind it hurts. Also their monopoly on the hand held market is definetly slipping, who was their last competition? GameGear, and that was how many years ago?

Plus Resident evil style games are not a big hit in the end. All the bond games past Goldeneye sucked, and The Legend of Zelda Windwaker was one of the biggest disapointments I ever had to endure. I was expecting something like what we are starting to see now, and instead we get cell shading... No matter how you look at it, the game is stupid.

There is no way they could hope to go against the sheer violent nature of Halo and Grand Theft Auto. Cause guess what, kids just want to kill their friends in violent ways, not beat them in mario party.

In the Days on N-64 Nintendo was kicking Sony's ass overall, now...

Actually, my friends and I play mario party over halo every time. It follows Nintendo's trends for games: great gameplay, but little realistic violence/gore. Fuzion Frenzy is just a POS xbox rip off of mario party, so obviously that genre is doing well for xbox to copy it.

I loved the gameplay of windwaker, it was an expansion on Ocarina of Time's gameplay, but you're completely right about the graphics sucking.

While it's true that Nintendo was relatively unopposed for hand helds for a long time, they're still dominating the market. The RPG thing is dead on though, that's one of the many reasons I don't want an xbox. RPG's are still a big deal in America as well though, it's one of the, if not the best selling genre anywhere.

I see a lot of reason Cube gets hate is lack of M rated games.....A game donest' have to be M to be good. Just like a movie doesn't have to be R to be good. Out of all 3 systems, I play the cube the most, RE4, Warioware, Animal Crossing, Soul Calbur II, and many others. With the exception of RE4 all of these are very good Non-M rated games. It's all a mater of opinion and preference....the cube is highly underrated, and in all honesty....RE4 is the goriest, most voilently graphic game I've ever played. It's way more hardcore than Halo (2) and any GTA combined.....

Cube - <3
Ps2 - good for an aging system
Xbox - Worlds Heaviest DVD Player.

Both those games lack story and really are not all that violent.

IF you want gore and story try the Fatal Frame series. There are many other ones also, just cant think of more right now ><. But to see the really gorey stuff you are going to have to unlock the extra modes....

Ritualistic dismemberment, gouging of eyes, fratacide(sp? murder of sibling) all shown directly in FMV (in end modes). Many games make GTA and Halo look hollow. (warning the first 2 sets are R rated at worst really, but the final unlocked mode's movies in the director's cuts are not for easily squeamish)

Empty violence is boring quickly, i'd rather a plot personally. But there are many off the main games that offer both, just have to dig for them.

That being said....

It is hard to beat playing drinking games to mario kart and mario party (etc) with friends after finals or such.

nintendo had a lotta great hits... Smash Bros. Melee anyone? Mario Kart? (although i didn't like Double Dash). Metroid Prime series? Nintendo would be better where they are if they got into third party stuff and continue to make their franchise games as someone said before. I remember when pokemon first came out for game boy... i don't think halo can compare to what pokemon did for game boy. I seriously thought after a while PKMN would die... but it's still going strong somewhat. Yes.. nintendo's prob is 3rd party support... solution to the prob: get 3rd party supporters for their next system. Xbox 360 i think will do the same thing as when dreamcast came out then ps2 came out, although DC failed in the US for other reason as well as ps2.

If you want a violent game... then by all means... don't get a gamecube and most likely the revolution. But for me... violent games sorta get repetitive and the creativity factor drops and drops because it's still gonna be either a shooter or hack and slash button mashing game.

I love my nintendo gamecube because it's the only system I can play Nintendo games on. Games don't need gore to be good, and sometimes gore can make a game worse than it would of been without it. Quality over quantity, a great example of this is State of Emergency vs Silent Hill. There was way more gore in state of emergency and it totally sucked where as Silent Hill uses it's gore well and it tends to scare the shit out of me more when it's used sparadically rather than constantly....RE4 is another good example of using gore well.

Last time I checked I liked The Iron Giant more than I liked Starship Troopers because it was a better film dispite the fact it was 'for kids'. If you need blood and guts to make you feel like more of a man you have some issues. The fact is no matter what video game system you're playing on, you're still playing with toys.

well you may call me a nintendo fan here, even if i got PS2 i stll i love my GC more
