Didn't really see a topic like this anywhere so here goes. What are some games that you think have awesome soundtracks? Try to keep it to just one game per post so it's easier to follow the topic, and supply an example if you can..

I'm gonna kick it off with Jet Set/Grind Radio. I remember really being drawn to the awesome artwork and concept when I first heard about it, then I bought the game and the soundtrack just blew me away. All of the songs are really exciting and quirky and just fit the theme of the game perfectly.

Here's a little medley example:

I'd say ffxi, but that's honestly.. lame. We all know it's an amazing sound track, and that doesn't need to be said over and over again.... So I'm going to say Metal Gear Solid II... I love that sound track. I'm sure someone will post something else, and it'll jog my memory. But it's my favorite for the moment.

Anything by Uematsu, all the metal gear and metal gear solid soundtracks, anything from the Tales series, the music from Kingdom Hearts and TWEWY

XIII and the GTA3 series

edit: the best thing for XIII I could find was a game trailer

The .hack//G.U. trilogy had some of the best music I've heard in a while. But then, imo all of the .hack games had great music.

Thanks guys! Fixing now.

The game may not be too stellar, but the music is pretty top notch. Not to mention.. Grandia III's Opening is just fucking catchy.

Something about it makes me just like to listen to the song.

Some samples for the games mentioned so far that I like in particular:

Oh also a game I wanted to add from the NES game that by far has the absolute greatest intro song for an NES game ever....

I loved Fahrenheits soundtrack, can't remember the name of the group that did the majority now, but it was awesome.

Best video game song I've ever heard is "She" from .Hack//G.U. which, as a series, is probably has the best score of any game ever released, imo.

This song is much better in game with the hella dramatic Endrance speeches timed in.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I dig everything about that game.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Zelda.

The original Tetris.

Star Wars: Any of them.

Mario Galaxy.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater games usually had pretty good music.

Does Guitar Hero count? 3 only, as that is the only one so far that has original artists doing some of the songs on the main list.

For the most part, I detest video game music. I have 100 gigs of music on my comp, and I almost always turn the sound off and listen to that. As a matter of fact, it usually irritates the shit out of me when a game requires you to have the sound on for a puzzle or if there is talking but no subtitles.

Soul Edge / Soul Blade. Best soundtrack of all Soul Calibur games. Ever since this, they kept sounding worse with every new release. Finding the OST for this has proven difficult to do.

On a side note, no Soul Calibur game has ever had such a spectacular intro for it's time like this one.

Guilty Gear. The entire series is filled with 80's and 90's rock references and the music really shows it.
