I always hear people bitching about gas prices. Dont get me wrong, I fully agree that its ridiculous but..

New York: 3.70 / gallon (iirc, went to NY on saturday)

Ontario: 5.40 / gallon (1.40 / litre for Super) (As of today)

Yup..

$4.17

-_-

Anyone else remember when gas was $1.49?

Breaking News: CNN reports that gas stations will start showing PORN movies on the screens of the pumps so that you can see someone else get screwed at the same time you do !!

NEW YORK (AP) — Retail gas prices jumped a cent Friday to a new national average over $3.96 a gallon, putting them on a course to hit $4 by early next week. Oil futures, meanwhile, traded in a narrow range as investors tried to determine whether recent price declines were temporary.

On the upside... Maybe if gas gets more expensive, Americans will get their asses off oil and onto something else. Hopefully, far more green than any solution we currently posess.

(Note, the high prices do little to please me right now. People will drive less until the gas prices come down I think, I know I have.)

Hovering around $3.99 for regular, $4.24 for super, $4.99 for diesel in the College Park area.

$4.17

I remember when it was $0.99.

$3.78 for Regular Unleaded, $3.99 for Premium here yesterday.

I miss my $.93/gallon when I lived in Georgia.

I ride my bike to pay bills now :)

I thought I heard that England was self-sufficient with their oil production/consumption?

which of course is like 1/3.7 of a gallon... so nearly $8 a gallon

This is why i've been spending my spare time fixing up my motorbike. I'm really getting sick of spending $1.35 CAD/Litre only to have my gas guzzler drain a tank in less than a week.

Atleast when I fill up the motorbike it doesn't feel like I'm being raped.

Is it the same across the pond that prices seem to literally be going up daily? Our PM has now said he "might" postpone the 2p per litre increase in tax he wants to introduce, but that's not certain yet.

Yes, that is the case here also. If not nearly daily, then biweekly at least.

The administration here is considering a "gas tax holiday" to supplicate the sheep.

I was hoping yesterdays trend on crude would continue into today. However, it has been hovering at $127.50/barrel now for a while as of about an hour ago. Hopefully the dollar will recover further, but I think it has fallen some today.

If the May reports indicate a significant decrease in driving, I think the prices will drop to around $100 pretty quick -- but that is probably wishful thinking. If they do drop, they could very well inch back up to $120.

The cheapest I remember gas is about $1.20-40 somewhere in there. Right now in my town in Colorado it's $3.90 something. Right now I'm just waiting for it to go up to 8 bucks a gallon so I can make a joke about that one Calvin and Hobbes strip coming true.

i have not drove in awhile because my van broke down right around the time prices went up.
Tho it will be running today.
but what i have noticed is the price of everything i normally buy in stores has now gone up due to the cost of gas and the shipping trucks bringing the product.
Verbatim DL dvds at best buy were spiked up like 10 bucks last time i was there.
these half lemonade and half iced tea drinks i bought for a dollar every other day at kroger are now 1.50 because of gas.
Its more than ridiculous, its causing the inflation to spread beyond the pump

oh and 1 month ago the fuel pump for my van was 170 bucks brand new, because of gas spiking my dad called to get one today it was now 240 dollars, wtf is that shit?! luckily found one at a junk yard for 50 bucks

Not only that, but it should be interesting if the dollar does recover. I somehow doubt the same expenses being passed to the consumer will be reversed anytime soon. Expect the stock market to grow profusely in the next year to year in a half -- all of course, dependent on gas prices and if the Feds hike interest rates.
