Gears of War 2: Special Order

Most retail stores learned their lesson about keeping around a megaexpensive version of a game, that is sure to sell to the diehard people, but not anyone outside of that (See: the ~6 copies of H3 legendary version that are still cluttering up by back stock room). Much better idea for that to be Amazon only.

Haha, the Gamestop down the street from me had about 6 Legendary Halo 3s sitting out by the registers. And it opened up about 6 months ago, so no doubt it's extra stock taken from somewhere else.

Weird, I didn't notice any of that; maybe you just ran into some glitches, because mine ran just fine. The rest is just personal preference, which doesn't mean the game itself is horrible, only that it's not to your taste.

Actually I had some of the same problems, especially the framerate. If I let the screen get to cluttered it was a nightmare. For a game that has been in development since the PSone days, it's a piece of trash. Then again, maybe I was expectin' to much from a company that has only made one decent game, Eternal Darkness. I'll be rentin' it for some easy Achievements but I was lookin' forward to buyin' this one before the demo. The control scheme and camera system alone made me hate it.

As for the Lancer, I think it's silly. Anyone who buys it is retarded. I thought people stopped playin' with plastic guns when they were young? Five bucks says that EVERYONE who buys it just tosses it in the closet and feels regret before a month has passed. Based on the price, that's a $100 plastic toy.

I think this guys Lancer build looks better to boot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM-lbhxrgN4

Given that the game itself is $60, it's really only a $70 toy. Still a lot, but not quite as expensive. It's really not any more useless than a lot of the other stuff that gets packaged with special editions, it's just larger.

It should at least fire something. If it does, that's cool. I can't read open the Amazon website for whatever odd reason, so if it does shoot something, then it's amazing lol

Just saw this lol My store still has like 8 of these suckers just lying around the store with big ass signs on them with the price lol If the helmet served some sort of function, I could have seen it worth it, but the $130 it was priced at was just too much to even have the non-hardcore fans consider it.

Sadly, nothing is mentioned about shooting, otherwise I'd definitely buy it. Best Air-soft gun ever.

I don't see how being hardcore has anything to do with it. I think hardcore has more to do with how good you get at playing the game than how much useless overpriced crap you buy with its branding on it.

I'm pretty excited for the new Gears game though, seems like it addresses my main complaints with the first.

$70 or $100, either way, it's just as stupid.

It's like everyones trying to be as cool as the RE4 Chainsaw controller, but making it completely worthless in the process.

This is pretty crappy for the price. meh more power to you if you wanna blow 70 bucks on this.

I have one of these myself. I never actually used it though. Still sealed in the box as I saw it was more of a collector's item.

Yeah, I just meant that the chainsaw controller actually had a use besides sitting there looking cool.

Gotcha. Makes sense. If you are going to give a special item, at least make it functional. Not all of us like spending money on figurines and toys.

Too bad I won't be getting this till the Spring at least. I'll be busy with Infinite Undiscovery, Fable II, Last Remnant, Fallout 3, and probably by then Star Ocean 4. So probably more like the Summer lol.

The guy above me is definitely goin' to get the Lancer edition.

Damn I still need to play the first one!
