Gears of War 2

this is certainly my game of the year. That story was intense, and the gameplay was fun all the way through. so many parts in the story that just made me feel like i was there. Fuckin A!
 
I really hope i have internet running to my 360 when this game comes out.

Thats because it is epic! I dont wanna ruin it for no one so thats why i havent said much, but this game has some plot twists that just makes your jaw drop because you NEVER expect them to do things that way. There is even a sad scene that just made me tear up a lil bit. And omg, when you complete this game dont you dare skip the credits, after the credits roll prepare to get chills up your spine!!! It will make you want Gears 3 RIGHT NOW!!

Ive been playing some multiplayer with bots, kinda cool that some of it counts towards the achievements.
Im only 2000 kills into seriously 2.0 >.>
 
I have a question for you Chas. How is the length of the game? I think the first was way, way to short. Is this one any better in length? Not that it'll turn me off from buyin' it I'm just curious because campaign in UT3 was so goddamn long it wasn't even fun past a certain point.
 
i beat it on hardcore in 15 hours. it ssems to go on forever tho, but when it ends you just want more. The store is so well done that it doesnt seem to short to me though.
 
Cool, I think I plowed through Hardcore in the first in around 8-9 hours, but I had already played on Easy which took even less. Sounds like it's longer to me. Thanks man.

I think if people reviewed it as a 1.5 it wouldnt matter...
This gameis expected to be the giant in sales as far as console exclusive games go...
Yeah GTA4 sells 10M copies and Guitar Hero III 12M i believe, but thats consoles sales combined. When you get a game released on one console that is expected to sell in the 8M+ range... jeeez.

I expect this game to be epic, made of epic win and another reference to the word epic somehow, somewhere in there.
 
Maybe but you gotta remember when Gears 1 came out, Xbox 360 didn't have jack shit out worth buying. This year Gears 2 actually has competition. Not saying this won't do great but I don't know if you can guarantee 8 million or something crazy like that.

I dont see anything as competition for the moment other then CoD:Waw. There are some good games out, yes. None that will offer the Campaign, multiplayer and replay that Gears does. I am also talking for 360 only in that situation Fire.

Resistance tho it may not be as popular a game or even as good a game... It pretty much cancels out any ideas that Gears 2 is going to sell consoles to PS3 owners. Gears does pretty much the same stopping belief that Resistance will bring people over from 360.

Again from a console exclusive stand point... I can see Gears hitting the rediculous amount of copies sold they are aiming for.
 
I'd like to know what the competition is for Gears 2. Gears is like Halo, it's gonna sell and make everything else look bad and no matter how much Insomniacs doesn't want it to, it's gonna dwarf their new baby.

They aren't even doing a midnight for Resistance anywhere near my house lol, owned.
 
Yeah, they aren't here either. I wouldn't call it R2 bein' ownd though. Midnight releases are tough on employees who have to be back at work around 9 or have class the next day. I can understand once every so often but one on the 3rd and one on the 6th would be harsh.

Kind of saw it commin' though. The Resistance titles are THE shooters to own on the PS3 but that's nothin' compared to THE shooters to own on the 360. I think if Resistance was a multiplatform game or at least on the 360 it would be better off and probably on par with Gears.

I'm really on the rocks about buyin' Gears 2 though. Mutliplayer is gonna be the factor, whether or not they improved the lag circumstances. If the multiplayer hasn't been improved I think I'll skip it and go for the new 007 game. COD4 with a cover system and gadgets could be very, very interestin'.

I ain't comparing Resistance to Gears, was talking about 360 games. The only thing on the 360 in 2006 was Gears, Rainbow 6 and Dead Rising. That's it period, from launch to Gears. There's now a lot of stuff on 360, not only this holiday but from all year long.

I'm not ragging on Gears, I'm buying it myself. I'm just saying Gears 1 had a much different environment when it came out than it does now.

Gears is one of the few titles I'd have to say wouldn't matter what was out or commin'. That game would have been a hit if had came out the day of Halo 3. Its still one of the most popular games played so it has surpassed the whole "popular for a bit" phase most games go through over live. That's not sayin' that I don't agree to some bit, it definitely hit at the perfect time to build a good, solid series, but I think it would be just as popular if the first title was hittin' this year as opposed to the sequel. It's not that often that we get a shooter with a good story and characters we care about especially on the 360.

You wouldn't have to for something like Resistance. Most PS3 things aside from LBP we have had more than enough for. The only other one that might even come close is Killzone 2.
 
Ill worry about KZ2 come feb. Until then there aren't any other games I'm going to preorder, ill just pick em up at best buy with my discount.
