Generic Twilight Princess thread

I don't understand what Lolth is bitching about. The game looks and plays beautifully. I'm extremely impressed with everything about it. It's actually better than I expected it to be so far.

<.<; you're making me just want it more =(

18 more days ; ;

I played about 15 minutes today before I popped in Trauma Center instead. I herded some goats. Yay for herding goats!

If you have some spare time, download this podcast: http://games.ign.com/articles/746/746622p1.html

Skip to about 12:05 minutes in and they explain my Zelda experience.

Podcast isn't working, why don't you just try explaining it since you seem to be the only person who doesn't like the game.

<Lolth> I don't really have my own opinion of this game. Here's another guy's opinion instead.

TP is the best zelda to be released since a link to the past. And I think it even surpasses that.

TP is so beautiful. Graphics, gameplay, story. The story is much more immersive than any other zelda before. You dont just "Play the hero." Youre actually playing as a guy that has a life. Finding your friends and such.

Im under lake hylia atm, just got the Claw Shot a few minutes ago.

Component cables are supposed to be impossible to find until late next week which really blows, I might just hook my standard def tv up and play it on that.

What component cables? What do they do?

higher quality audio/video.

Component video cables are required for HDTV output (480p, in the wii's case).

I liked the OoT storyline more.

The gameplay is alot nicer, and by far the best graphics to date.

Gonna do the Lakebed temple (or whatever, the one under lake hylia) today.

ok, I'm gonna stop reading this thread now before the storyline is spoiled ~.~

Spoilers

Dont read this if you dont like spoilers (kinda)

in OoT, rumor is there were plans to incorporate several temples that werent in the game, but they had to remove them. (I dont know why, maybe space?, or time)

But, in TP, there are several temples that were wanted to be in OoT. Such as the Mansion (basically ice temple) and the Temple of Time. I think that the basic layout and/or plans/items from these temples were once intended to be in OoT. The levels themselves, at least.

Either way, great game.

SPOILERS ------------------ \/

TP seems to be the long awaited sequel to OoT, basing by the storyline. If you know what the last boss is, and where he comes from, remember the end of OoT where Ganondorf says "I will return to haunt your ancestors!"

There you go. It has to be earlier than Wind Waker too, because that was set hundreds of years after Hyrule was already gone.

My post could be called a spoiler, but if you didn't know this was going to happen in a Zelda game, you obviously haven't played any Zelda games before.

I fucking LOVE what they did with bombs. It always annoyed the hell out of me that I had to go through a whole dungeon just to get a fucking sack, but Twilight Princess has you just buy the goddamn bag WITH your bombs from a store. It makes a fuckton more sense than a dungeon, and I hope they repeat this in every other zelda game from now on.

QFT

You'll see a even cooler twist to bombs pretty soon.

spoiler \/

bomb + arrow in the 2nd dungeon, you can blow stuff up from far away

then, in the third dungeon you get water bombs, which can be used underwater AND combined with arrows

Yeah, I just got those, plus the hawkeye mask that I missed my first trip through the town. Sniper bow = awesome.

Lol, that was originally a trick in Link's Awakening.

I never even played any zelda games for more than 30 minutes total and even I knew that trick. What can i say? Parents are the most unrelable people to get videogames from when youre a kid.
