Actually how about you stop looking for a way to take pot-shots at me. Moving on to all of you who thought it was a good idea to flame cubs for making a political debate sticky once a month to clear up some trash on the boards; you're a bit late. It's a small wonder this response came now as it is currently in fashion (apperantly) to flame cubs for breathing. A month ago when this started sure .. no prob, bitch and whine. It's a bit stupid now and only shows how many late bloomers are just out for some attention.

3 pages and not ONE actual political point made, good going to all of you. Way to stick it to the man.

Albeit my first post was quite inflammatory there was a reason. Cubs made a political debate thread for people to debate, not a place to come in and waste time by trying to pass of bias as intellect. As you said, and as I have said before, get a helmet. This is a flameboard. If this was general discussion forum I would have kept my mouth shut, but seeing as it isn't I vented/stirred up trouble.

I have no problem with someone who has views opinions or beliefs radically different than or in opposition to mine. You, Mokk, are one person I respect in your ability to maintain 'civil' discussion and display respect. Dante and Hippy are a different story. Like I said - I come into a debate thread and expect to see debate, not "Harriet Miers is batshit insane" and then a witty "lol yeh hes a dumbfuck" addon. That generally pisses me off. Going back to my first post I insulted no one but those who cannot make a coherent argument and support it on their own, and resort rather to restating the arguments of others and trying to pass it off.

As long as we're cutting through the bullshit here it is: a thread for debate which has been taken essentially off topic due to bias just plain pisses me off. The same can be said for dante - who spends 30% of his time trolling my posts and responding with a vice-versa type juvenile argument. Telling a dumb kid to go away does not make my political views juvenile.

My high and mighty attitude coming into this thread however does in fact make me an asshole, just while we're at it. :wink:

Juicy topic. Some details in the following that are probabally a bit on the "TMI" side, but fuck it, I don't really care.

Few years back I worked with this girl at a Record Store. She was cute, and apparently stupid too (since she slept with me) so we screwed in the backseat of my Mustang. Low and behold, she got preggers :shock: Having known each other for a whopping two weeks, we opted for the abortion. So, in this sense, I suppose you could call me Pro-Abortion, since this would have seriously fucked my life up.

If Abortion were to be illegalized, I shudder to think of the alternate paths people would take to discard unwanted pregnancy. I have horrible visions of the shitty movie that on at midnight where the guy gets a bullet taken out by a disbarred Vetrinarian or some shit like that. Abortion just dosen't seem like it should be a back-alley coathanger deal. So I suppose from this aspect, I can once again be considered Pro-Abortion.

What I cannot ever hope to even begin to contemplate, is what a Woman who goes through such a procedure must feel physically, and emotionally. At the risk of being a complete and total asshole, I will say I imagine it would be a very devistating experience on multiple levels. Devistating enough to be outlawed? Not in my opinion.

I suppose I am Pro-Abortion. I really hate to think of an entire nation full of people as fucking stupid as me and the above mentioned Record Store chick were having absolutley no option but to ruin their lives. I really don't see any political body having the balls, in my lifetime at least, to make a solid, concisive decision on this issue. I don't think any party wants to be the one to fuck with this. The nation is just too divided on it.

Do I offer any solutions? Nope. Is my opinion ignorant, yup. I can't pretend to be as emotionally involved in this as most others are since I have no children. Emotion and Logic have never really melded together though.

Oh, PS I suppose. Anyone know whats up with that experimental abortive drug, RU-487 (think that was it) It was experimental back in 99 when this happened to me. Supposedly it was legal in like Holland or something, but had very stringent guidelines and restrictions making it near impossible to get in Sacramento.

She's never been a judge before, she's Christian. I'm not christian but I do like alot of things about the religion. Bush puts a sick feeling in my stomach for alot of Christians though.

In terms of abortion I really agree with Von here. I'm for it myself - but I don't see anyone making any actual changes anytime soon. Especially considering we have many more problems at the moment.

Kinda one of those dividing issues that people like to harp on as a decent gauge of bias and or conviction, pending on your viewpoint.

It's not a very concrete issue at all from any stanpoint - especially medical, so its difficult to talk about it being that there is no conclusive reasoning towards either side of the argument.
