Gets his Blackbelt and leaves

I'm sorry to see you go Zal. It was a pleasure playing in the same shell as you, again. GL with getting Maat's cap, I believe you can do it :D I don't know exactly what happened, I wasn't there nor have I heard both sides of the story, but don't really worry about that black belt. You attended events, you helped the shell you deserve this item. And those members that have been "mt'ing" bad things to you, need their attitudes checked. If they so easily lose respect for you, maybe they were never your real friends. GL man, enjoy the game doing what you like to do :D go go maat's cap

This was why I posted this topic. Because I made so many great friends in that shell that I didn't want to lose.

Well endgame linkshells are giant and sprawling and it's unlikely that everyone's going to get along. There are a few people from every linkshell who are pretty much assholes in general - most notably people who are assholes to everyone in rival linkshells. Those people will build enemies and eventually drama will ensue. As long as the LS is treating you fairly and the situation is not so hostile that it makes playing within the LS impossible, then just tough it out.

I'm not saying Zalbag's an asshole or whatever, just in my opinion it wasn't a big enough deal to leave a shell, period, not even touching on the black belt - which is really a nonissue considering he gave back gaiters.

Edit in: But I mean, it's his call what he wants to do, he's a player not a slave, just I can see how a person from the shell may hold it against you if loyalty is huge to them.

I didnt leave because of the fight I had with Hailie. I left because leadership thought so little of me that they'd actually think i'd screw over a friend for an item. I don't know how other people feel but not having faith from my linkshell leadership really bothered me. I fail to recall anytime in the shell that could give leadership a reason to believe me so shallow.

But where does this come from? The shell did KS99s on Saturday, because when you'd been trying to setup KS99 runs for your tongue items, there was a good response of members willing to do the run. Some to help you, some for the gil. I can't for the life of me see how the members and leadership of the shell being willing to do this is a sign of disrespect towards you...

I know this isn't on topic at all.. but your thread's title reminds me so much of

It came from this...

The circumstances which were explained then are somewhat different than what you're explaining to me. I'd say it's not a good idea to omit information if you've got a problem. In fact I really don't appreciate it.

I'll leave that aside for now, you got your black belt item and I'm sure you're happy enough. It's happened, so it's now besides the point.

It was part of a PM kisada sent me after I PM'd him complaining about Hailie. The full quote is on my original post. He stated I should be happy I got my belt. He also stated that I was omiting information. When I asked him what I was omiting he told me that I left Hailie's party to go do ks99, thus screwing hailie.(this was not 100% quote just basically what was said)

But what actually happened was I left to go help Oli/ls with DM, ks99 was going to be done after DM. Even if DM was cancelled Meast said we'd still be doing ks99. So if I had stayed like hailie wanted me to I still would've got my belt. I left because I had told Oli that I'd help with DM.

I'm not even factoring in that saturday events are the ones you must attend. At least those are how the rules were as I understood them. So really the event shouldn't have mattered, I would've left to go do ls events reguardless. Obtaining the blackbelt just happened to have happened at that event.

This is exactly what happens when people don't say exactly what they feel.

If you want somebody to do something with/for you, say it to him! Don't leave things between lines, or expect people to do what you expected. Because when the opposite happens and stories start to run around, it's 100% sure the message won't be exactly what happened.

How to solve this problem? Forgive Trully

or

Time Machine:

Hal - I would REALLY like you to help me with this.

Zal - Sure, I will have millions of other chances to get BB... ^^

Hal - Thx man ^^

Zal - np =D

If we don't say what we really want, nobody will know and opposite directions will be taken.

This game is all about ENDURANCE and after 100 Tiamats, you're going out because a little misunderstanding?

Don't.

If you just wanted to explain things I don't see how this is flameboard material really.. more good times (For the belt and good times with the shell) with an explination of why you left and what the problem was. Granted, I see how you could see it turning into a flame, but this doesn't seem really flameboard kinda shit

It seems to me that "loyalty" is being there for your linkshell when you are needed for events. Zal clearly stated the following:

Zalbag said:
The linkshell had made plans to start events at 6est. Hailie asked if I would brd for her mnk cannon pt before the events and I agreed. She and I both knew that we had events in 1.5 hours yet she still wanted to party.

Zalbag said:
Hailie told me not to worry because if there wern't enough people they'd just cancel DM.

Now I know that there are two sides to every story, and I only know Hailie in passing, so I'm not making any statements against her character or trying to offend or criticize her in any way by saying this. But if you start an exp party knowing an event is coming, you had better not get shitty with the person who leaves that exp party to attend the linkshell event that was scheduled. I don't know how Kaizen's inner workings go, but I would think "they'll just cancel it if there aren't enough people" isn't what the leaders would like to hear their people are thinking if they've taken the trouble to schedule an event.

If you read the message from Kisada that Zal posted, it appears he is getting reamed for leaving an exp party to attend a linkshell event that he, personally, did not need, and what's worse, not even a hint of the leadership being interested in helping to resolve the issue or even better understand Zal's side of the story. Not only do I fail to see what is "selfish" about going to a linkshell event you don't personally need, I further find it ridiculous that there are hurt feelings over a bard being unable to find a replacement bard (how often does that happen?) and leaving for said event. I can't understand how the linkshell can support the member who chose to exp too close to a linkshell event then got upset when the other left to support his linkshell.

I don't know Hailie's grudge. Obviously we only have Zal's version of events. The message from Kisada says something about a qcdn thread, and I don't recall reading one recently that would be upsetting to anyone in Kaizen from Zal (other than this one). But, the bottom line is, I don't blame Zal for feeling like the leadership has no faith in him, and I don't blame him for being disillusioned, like so many other people get with end-game. It seems to me a pretty mixed message to set up a linkshell event then get pissy with the person who leaves something of a lesser priority, ie: an exp party, to support that event. For investing as much of himself, his gil, his time, his loyalty in the shell as he has, he's gotten the cold shoulder for his trouble. And I'm sorry, but there's something really wrong with that.

In the 3-4 months since I've joined Kaizen I've lv'd smn to 75 fully capped its merits and even started spending gil on upgradding my jobs since kisada felt my gear was less then great.

If you must know the reason I left it was because of lack of faith the leadership showed me.

Sounds like you were second class from the moment you entered the shell, and nothing you could do could change that. You are probably right. End game shells have their favorites, and they have their mules.

If hailie is a "gurl", you're doubly ****ed, naturally. No man would get pissy over leaving a xp party to go DM and KS it, and only a woman could pull off the "no it's fine" but really mean "you are so ****ing dead to me" disguise.

An unfortunate lesson in communication.

Just to clear things up, Hailie any myself worked things out. I should've added that in the original thread. I didn't really want to add Hailie's part in the situation but without it there would be alot of holes missing in my story.

This is primarily about the talking thats been going on about me since I left the shell. Considering I didn't want any drama, I especially didn't want to have to come to the flameboard, it's a direct resault of the comments I recieved from old shell members, who seemed to think I left simply because I got my belt, and their comments which were completly based on only one side of the story.

Meh do what's best for you Zal and best of luck, no matter what you choose stay with what makes you happy.

PS - Dejavu.

what did i do?

Granted, the term is two words, "deja" and "vu" ...

I blame blackmagik, and sao too. But mostly Blackmagik.

lol

This action from that ls suprises you? ... seems par for the course

zalbag,

i truly hate to see you go. you're one of the people that came into the shell, and just meshed well with me on a personal and playing level. i typically had agreed with what you say/felt, and you did truly do alot for the shell in my opinion.

specifically, i want to thank you for all the time you put in on my shikigami weapon, i cant believe it took so long to drop. :) but your work and effort will not be forgotten.

i dont feel that you took the black belt and ran, because, honestly, you arent that type of person, and i dont see you as such. you were always interested in helping others and the linkshell.

i hope that there are some events and some things that we can do even though you have left the shell-- (like limbus on rones maybe) -- i really enjoyed playing the game with you while you were in kaizen.

thanks for the fun times and hope to see more -- and i know you have maat's cap in you :D
