I don't understand why some people seem to think that they deserve an NM. Nothing irritates me more than when I arrive somewhere and claim shortly after arriving to hear the boo-hoo story about how they've been there for 4 hours. What the hell? Do you think I made my way to the camp just to let you have it cause you were there first? Of course not, I came there for a damn reason.

I disagree with this anology. If you're camping somthing for like 10 hours and then someone shows up and claims it in 5 minutes, I don't believe they deserve it.

In the same aspect, if you and someone else are camping somthing for 10 hours, you both equally deserve said thing.

And before someone takes that out of context, if someone has CC'd you for 9 of the 10 hours you were there, no I wouldn't go ballistic and whine about how I deserved it more. You know what I mean by what I'm saying.

Ive got nothing wrong with other people being there shorter than I have, and claiming, at that point it fair game, whoever was there first gets it. But I'm not even complaining about that. Its the fact that out of the kindness of my heart, I help someone out by pointint them in this direction, and then "stealing" it from me.

No different than having a friend help you camp VE so you can get the pin, then when it drops he lots for 999 and gets it. Of course your gonna be pissed and bitch. Your not just gonna say w.e I'm only 0/29 on it, guess im gonna be 0/58 before I get another one.

The thing is that it could have been any other number of ways. I mean it is possibly that the guy felt that he didn't owe you and it was his NM or whatever. Could also be that he figured that you left. You pointed him toward the bees, he didn't keep track of whether you stayed or left. NM spawns. Who takes the time to look around to see whether anyone else would iike to claim that NM?

I am not saying he would have done that, but had he been an NA you could have chatted him up and perhaps worked something out, who knows.

Point is, he may have shafted you on purpose, or he may not have, there is just no way to know for sure sure.

Doesn't matter how long it takes. What matters is: Who's still on the ball when pop time comes around.

Yup, playing EQ people respected other people's camps. There were plenty of spots where people would go to XP, and if there was someone who camped the named whilek killing the PH, then the XP group would respect that camp and not engage the named even if they could have. That's just the way it was done, and it worked.

Someone is going to bring up that RMTs don't respect camps (as if anyone in FFXI does anyway), but I just want to say that there were few professional RMTs during the early 3-ish years of EQ. Those guys (Americans) who camped to sell to IGE and like would respect camps as well.

Dunno what to say, there was simply more willingness to work things out instead of getting all ticked off.
