My only question with all these celeb deaths is why do people care so much? What purpose do you have crying over someone you almost certainly never met, never had any conversations with, or sometimes never seen in person/concert? I just don't get it. It's the same as celeb gossip and what have you, what is the obsession?
On a philosophical note about death, the most important thing my late grandfather ever taught to me was to celebrate life. To be mournful for their passing is to dishonor their memory somewhat. Instead be happy for the time you had together, and remember that.
On the topic of MJ, I'm with Trippy and the Beatles outrage. I do find it terribly funny though that it was McCartney's own advice to MJ that lead to it. The pedophilia things I think started real, and became staged by families (call me a cynic but I'm sure that at least one asshole parent did the "I bet if I let my son stay there I can make a buttload too"). To every story there is at least a shadow of truth, or else it would simply disappear into last month's copy of the grocery store tabloid. The one I heard of but not mentioned often is that he would have preteen and young teen boys over to his house and provide them with a place to have orgies, and he would watch. I guess it depends on where you draw the line on the legality/moral stands there but I think that's just plain fucked up if it's in fact true.
And on to posthumous jokes:
Did you hear that since he was 90% plastic, they've decided to melt Michael Jackson's body down into Legos, so little boys can play with him for a change.
Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Little Boy Blue.
Little Boy Blue who?
Michael Jackson.
Prince Michael Jackson, Jr. -- you know in a few years they'll probably change his name to:
"The Child Formerly Known as Michael Jackson's Baby".
How do we know Michael is guilty? Several children have fingered him.
Q. What's a Jackson fo(u)r?
A. Nothing. That's just the number that remain!
