"Good times?" Depends on your perspective I guess

As they should be now(I'm only posting this now because I didn't see the thread earlier), he got the item, but he used immoral means to do it. Just because it's RMT everyone's treating him like a hero, when in reality he's a thief; no one cares because he stole from a wildly unpopular group. I don't like RMT either, but I don't think bragging about how he stole from them is in any way praiseworthy. If nothing else, he's shown he's just as low as they are by using their tactics, namely stealing when possible. He got something he didn't deserve by stealing, who he stole from should be irrelevant.

Robin Hood, he steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Damn that evil bastard, he's nothing more than a common garbage thief and should be villanized for his evil actions because as we all know, stealing is wrong regardless of the reasoning or circumstances.

And are you not friends with Cythe who MPKed and stole from gil sellers? I'm sure you gave him plenty of good moral guidance when he committed those "terrible" and "immoral" acts, right? Or did you congratulate him and say "Good job" like everyone else?

Just because he was friends with Cythe doesn't mean he has to approve of what he does or did.

Robin Hood stole from the rich, yes.
But he did give to the poor who cheered him on. Stealing is wrong, and should not be celebrated. Who the hell celebrates those who jacked up others' accounts for their own benefit?
No one does.
It may be amusing but in the end, it's wrong.

The only reason why Robin Hood is celebrated as a hero is because he gave the money to those that needed it. If he kept it for himself, it'd be a different story.

I don't recall the OP giving anything he gained from stealing to anyone else. He "stole" it cause he wanted it for himself. Nothing noble there. He also gave RMT gil, which is what they wanted even if it wasn't the exact amount they wanted.

It's an issue of Baja's character and not his friendship. On one hand, he is against it, but the other, he's friends with someone who commits those same acts and says nothing wrong to his friend or about his friend. Baja just wants to assert his moral opinion and stand on his high horse acting smug with self righteousness.

As for Robin Hood, the argument presented is that stealing is morally wrong regardless of the reason and who it hurts. If that's the case, then Robin Hood is just as morally wrong as the Good times poster. It is also neglected that the person who took the haidates more than likely is "poor" because of the same RMT. How long has he been waiting on a pair of haidates because those thieves (Read: RMT) have been taking advantage of the game for their own illegal benefit and monopolizing pop items? And don't forget, Robin Hood didn't just steal from any rich, he stole from the morally bankrupt and corrupt rich.

Just out of curiousity does the OP to the other thread have screenshots or fraps of the entire situation? Just curious because the post seems like it could also be a good way to avoid the whole "How did you get kitty pants?" question everyone would probably ask. For all we know he paid the whole 7.5mil. I have never trade with RTM but I would assume they are like everyone else and would want payment up front or at least 50%, they could also have him pay after it drops and boot from party if he refuses.

I hope he really did get away with what he says cause its kind of funny but I would personally need more proof. If I don't know some one I don't instantly assume everything they tell me is true. If there are people that can speak for the persons charicter or if there are screen shots I apologize in advance for bringing it up.

EDIT: just to be on topic I don't mind he got his pants that way if he stole from the RMT

In the OP he said he was on PS2 or Xbox or something and SS were not available

Everybody plays Ps2 when it comes to showing proof of something.

Yea i mean i have a conversation where Myrrh where he said he makes out with Donkey's... But i was on PS2

I'm usually on PS2 as well but if i was gonna pull something like this off and brag about it I would log on my PC. If it was something that happened unexpectedly I wouldn't request Screens

Still though, cant say it NEVER happened, but you can say it has no proof... in that case no one has to believe its their own perogative. Personally IDC if he did or not. But like i posted earlier any form of stealing is wrong even if its from the lowlifes...

Ill be honest again though... An RMT pwrlvled me and raivyn out in GC before they were heading to serket, Assika powerlvled us for a good hour before running to claim serket. That was hillarious.

She also raised Seteyu, that was good times.

Robin Hood stole from the rich to give to the poor because the poor were starving and neglected. He didn't steal from the rich and say, "Hey I like this pimp Bow, and hey since I'm a ranger, I'm gonna keep it for myself, cuz hey, I'm poor too." Seriously, Kunel was "poor" as a result of RMT so he owes himself a pair of haidate? And let's not forget that this "poor" person spent 500k for them? Sorry, your logic sucks. Comparing someone who steals to feed people who are starving with someone who steals so they can parade around wearing a glamour item they don't need is not even in the same universe. Not by a long shot.

Eating also is a necessity. Without food, the poor people would die. Robin Hood = fictional. Dealing with RMT = serious business. Wear those pants with lolpride sir.

You know what the problem is here, right? You all care too fucking much.

The problem is that I care too much about YOU! You slut... you never say you love me anymore ...

The whole issue of Robin Hood wasn't entirely just based on stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. It was also about the injustice of the taxes brought upon the commoners and the basic outright theft of goods and money to benefit the the King's nephew (or whoever it was). RMT are basically stealing limited resources and gil from our system for their own benefit when those items are meant for real players. They have no right to these items, they are not even players in the sense that they actually play the game. They are here to make a living and sell gil when they know it is explicitly against the ToS. They have no right to those items. They have no NEED for those items, but they take them anyways. We NEED those items in the sense that we need them to enjoy the game otherwise it's not worth playing especially when we have to pay for it with real money.

Suggesting anyone steals from RMT is an outrage in and of itself. RMT have no right to those items with and we therefore cannot stealing anything when they shouldn't own them to begin with. Suggesting anyone ever stole from RMT is the same as suggesting RMT have a right to those items and I find that unacceptable. RMT are basically the equivalent of mobs and if you can kill one and take it's loot, it's almost a good of a feeling as killing a NM, sometimes better. At any rate, "stealing" from RMT is only taking back what is ours.

I should also note, we are in a sense poorer because of RMT. In every form of farming, there are RMT whoring it out one way or another. Because of them, I make a little less every time I farm. Because of them, I can't farm certain areas. Because of them, some areas/items are so over farmed, it's not worth farming anymore. I am that much poorer because of them and I can't image everyone else is much different. If it wasn't for RMT, I can guarantee you I'd be 10 times richer than I am now, not just gil wise (ignoring inflation/deflation), but gear and other materials.

If RMT totally prevented anyone from accomplishing anything in sky, I'd say you have a point. But no, you don't. I'm in a shell that has fought Byakko plenty. With items we farmed like countless other shells up there. The person we're talking about neither farmed the pop items nor put effort into the kill. What's more he deliberately misled them, still gave them a considerable amount of gil (for hating them so much, that's pretty amusing), and is wearing an item that he wouldn't have had without shady means. It's stealing. Candy coat it and justify it however you like because you don't consider RMT players. It amazes me the number of people who want to hate RMT for breaking the rules and ToS and conveniently forget the rules and ToS when it suits them.

Yes everything in this game has been affected by RMT but you know what, I get along just fine. I make ends meet just fine without jacking anyone, including RMT out of anything. If people spent as much time working at making their own gil instead of buying it or bitching about it, they wouldn't be so bad off. A player can piss and moan and steal and swindle or they can show they actually have some skill as a genuine player and earn what they have without having someone whore it to them. Is it tougher? Yes. Does it suck that they've made it harder for us? Yes. But they aren't going anywhere. Because someone out there is buying what they're selling. So you know what? If I am a little poorer and yet can say I've never stooped to their skeezy level, then so be it. I've played hard for what I have. No one's handed me anything.

Throw me on this hate list.
Although I got mine for free.

I don't see why it's a big deal ripping off the RMT. I mean honestly even if what they do with the drops is against the player they did put in time and effort(sorta) into getting the pop items. It'd be like ripping of your own ls just cause you don't like them.

Zyn/Mat:

I respect to what you've said, and my post wasn't targeted at either of you individually.

Sincerest apologies if you feel I was pointing a finger solely at you.

I admit I jumped the gun with my assumption, and additionally apologize to be as arrogant to also assume that I spoke for everyone else.

Personally, I find it redundant to beat the dead horse is all.

Applaud him or boo him, he has his item.

Perhaps for others it's not that simple to accept and let go and I guess discussion worthy for ya'll to discuss the underlying complexities of the matter. >.<;

I've spoken my part, so with that said, I bow out of this thread unless my name is mentioned.
